Excellent service as always by David. The wild caught grilled salmon with kabocha squash and spinach was delicious as was the mushroom soup. We also had Roederer champagne which complemented our meal perfectly. Thank you! Already looking forward to our next visit
It’s wonderful service, good food, beautiful place for gathering together
Food has NO taste, seafood appetizer was microscopic... stay home
Good food and great service!
We had a great time, noice was a bit high and we weren’t expecting a bar with sports On at an Italian place.
It will be great if there was a separation between the bar and the dining area.
Always a pleasure to visit Il Fornaio Burlingame. My husband and I were entertaining long time friends and wanted it to be special. And, it was. Food was great (as always), wine selection was broad and well priced. And, the waiter was perfect -- charming, efficient, and attentive. Great choice for our luncheon.
We have gone to Il Fornaio - Burlingame many times over the years with a favorite Aunt who lives nearby. We had a lunch there in her honor after her memorial service. The food is always good and there is a favorite for everyone. The quality has been maintained over many years. We always take out of town visitors to an Il Fornaio.
Great food, great birthday for my daughter !
Wonderful food and wonderful service. The flickering light was the only downside.
Calamari appetizer was amazing. Main courses - mix. Roast chicken was very moist and appealed to my picky eater daughter. The pastas my husband and I ordered needed more than the grated cheese for taste - had to add salt and pepper. Been here a couple of times and pastas were better. It might be just my husband or my own palates.
Love the new menu
Always loving dining here. It’s our favorite. Consistently good food and service.
The food and service were excellent. The ravioli with pear & Gorgonzola was delightful and the salmon was delicious as always.
I ordered the salmon salad. Upon arrival, the salmon was over-cooked and in small, broken pieces. When I brought it to the attention of the waiter, he immediately took it back to the kitchen and they cooked a new order for me. I would never order this dish again. Also, the restaurant was quite noisy and it was hard for our party of 6 to communicate. I felt it was a little pricey for lunch.
It was great, its always great. nice healthy lunch in a very comfortable atmosphere with great service and quality food. The awesome wine selection also helps.
Good food bad service. Server never mentioned his name, but he looked like he wanted to die to say the least. I’ve never had a problem with Il Fornaios service until this last time.
The food is very consistent. On our most recent visit, the food was outstanding, as usual. However, the service was really lacking. While the noise doesn't bother me, it is quite loud in there and can be difficult for anyone with hearing problems.
When I travel to San Francisco I often stay by the airport on my first night in and on the night before my trip out. I always go to IlFornaio. It is such an excellent authentic restaurant.
The restaurant is Beautiful, Burlington game is a great town and the entire experience is perfection. The food at IlFornaio is the star of the show, every dish is prepared perfectly with the
Freshest ingredients prepared exceptionally It is also so very authentic. It is my go to
Carla, our waitress was just fantastic!
Amazing ambience. The housemade garlic bread and olive oil served is amazing, the service is a little slow, 45 mins waiting time for you to receive your dish but the dessert menu is vivid and the Dinner plates are really good.
Started with beet salad with goat cheese, great. Followed by festa regionale risotto with shrimp and artichoke hearts, highly recommend it. Husband had lasagna, which was good too. Ended with the festa dessert, chocolate torte with salted caramel gelato and chocolate sauce. So decadent. But, what made our evening perfect was the people at Il Fornaio. Our waitress Heather remembered we just got back from vacation, asked us about it. Made great food recommendations and her service is impeccable. A meal is not just about the food, but, the company and Heather always makes us feel special!
Bad service from the buzzer to the waiter a three hour tour that got worse as the eve went on
Having used the restaurant several times it never disappoints. Any food choice is great quality. The staff are attentive and pleasant.
The food specials from Pulgia menu were great! Loved the boneless short ribs.
Waitress was delightful! Food was very tasty!
Of our four-person party, two diners had seafood pasta that they both found to be greasy; another had the half chicken that was dry and cold. I had a seafood combination that was really good, although the broccolini was undercooked. There was up-sell pressure from the waiter who had the misfortune to ask how dinner was. My partner told him. He summoned the manager, a woman who was polite, apologized, and discounted the bill. Sadly, I fear that the restaurant (where my partner and I used to eat with regularity over about 15 years because it is midway from our two homes) is on an unrelenting decline. It had improved a couple of years ago but appears to have returned to its downward progression.
We came in for a random get together with friends spurred on by an email invitation for happy hour all day. We had a great time. Our server was terrific.
Thought a late afternoon lunch would be nice and less crowded. It was less crowded but the food came out in an untimely manner. The restaurant was not crowded. The server was not great. The simplest of orders, Caesar salads and two pizzas.
The salads came out fine. But waited for the pizzas almost 1/2 hour. Now pizzas, like they serve, are cooked at 700+degrees and take approximately 7 minutes...why it took 1/2 hour????
When the pizzas finally came out, they were doughy, undercooked yuck! We are a piece each and we’re done. Thinking we would just take the rest home and recook so the crust was more crispy. We ended up throwing it away.
Really a bummer for this location! We frequent the Walnut Creek location and their service and food is far superior! Probably will not return to this restaurant!
We both had the gnocchi with bolognesse sauce and it was outstanding.
Always great service, we were in and out in under an hour without feeling rushed at all.
Chicken pasta had very little chicken, disappointing
first of all the service was lousy. secondly, my gnocchi was ok....my wife's pasta was ok. our friends both had scallopine which tasted awful and, if you could have eaten it, you would have needed a skill saw to cut it. very interesting. we eat at il fornaio in palo alto and it's pretty good. the place in carmel is great. even tho menus are the same the chef makes a difference.
Haven't been here in a while. The food seems to be noticeably better - everything was delicious and well-prepared. The cadence of the meal was great as well. The server could have been warmer - he was the kind of server who has been at it a long time and knows his job so well that he doesn't try as hard as he used to anymore. It wasn't an issue, just something I noticed. Dropping the fresh plates down on the table with a thud vs placing them gently would be an example of what I mean. This isn't a mess hall, it's a fine dining establishment. Take better care with the details of how you deliver the experience.
Thanks to Heather for making the meal for our party of 5 so enjoyable and special. It was a great evening.
Our server Bella was great. We ordered 3 flattened grill black cod, delicious.
The spinach salmon salad was heavy on the dressing - I should have asked for the dressing on the side. But the salmon was plentiful and perfectly done. The pasta dishes (pomodori) were also cooked to perfection. Wait staff was attentive. The noise level was moderate as it was a Wednesday for lunch and wasn't as crowded as it usually is later in the week.
Food wasn't very good unfortunately. We were there for lunch - I had the INSALATA DI POLLO DAL GIRARROSTO and it barely had any chicken on it. For $20, I should get a lot more than just a few pieces. I am a big fan of Il Fornaio which is why I took my boss there. He said his meal wasn't very good either. He had the PETTO DI POLLO AL PEPERONCINO.
I will be back, but with hesitation though. Really bummed out about this visit. You're better than this!
Wouldn't have changed a thing other than Il Fornaio might want to wrap their lemons with net so the seeds don't escape onto the plate. A tiny detail, but a classy one.
I started to go to Il Fornaio since the early 1990s and appreciate their creative cousin true to Italian food in the bay area and even in Beverly Hills. I especially like their consistent food quality that hasn't changed since the early days up until yesterday. Thanks to the kitchen and the waiting staff who pay attention to serving their old-timers as well as the new generation of clients. Thanks!
Parents anniversary. Doug gave great service! Thanks
My favorite restaurant 💕
