About Il Fornaio - Beverly Hills
Step inside Il Fornaio and take a culinary journey through Italy. Early mornings bring rustic, crisp crusted bread hot from the oven accompanied by the scent of fresh brewed espresso. During lunch and dinner hours, pastas and flavorful sauces simmer while meats and vegetables roast over hot coals. Bottles of wine from small, regional wineries are uncorked to complement the dishes, which have been crafted in the custom of Italy's chefs, bakers and homemakers. Il Fornaio means "the Baker" in Italian. This award-winning restaurant offers an authentic and unique Italian dining experience. Specialties include wood-fired rotisserie and grilled meats, poultry and game; housemade pastas; pizzas from an oak wood burning oven; fresh salads and housemade soups; a wide variety of desserts; and fresh baked bread made daily from scratch. Winner of the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence 2007.

Il Fornaio - Beverly Hills Ratings and Reviews
Went for Valentine's date. Enjoyed it. Great service and beautiful resturanr. The food was good. I had the lasagna ($28). It had a tad bit too much meat for my taste though and the pasta was very thin. I rather have more pasta than meat. And my boyfriend ordered the lamb $50! He didn't think it was enough meat. Our favorite part was the dessert which was surprisingly the cheapest thing we orded. $10 and it was the best chocolate cake Ive ever eaten! I would swing by again just to have the cake to go lol. Also, the tables were a bit too close together for our comfort. I hope they change that.
Il Fornaio is a very old establishment in the restaurant industry, food over all is always good but can be hit or miss some times, the overall service is the worst I have ever encountered in all off my years in dining out and I told the waiter what was on my mind that evening
Disappointing trip to one of my favorite "chain restaurants". They did not have the same
quality that I am used to when dining at other locations of Il Fornaio .
They also did not have the same dishes I am used to ordering;
bread was stale, tho
immediately replaced by outstanding olive bread fresh out of the oven.
All in all, I was disappointed.
The location is outstanding on Beverly Blvd in center of Beverly Hills shopping...
I've been disappointed in Il Fornaio the last few times I've been there and stopped going for very long time. Decided to give it one more chance and sadly found it to be worse than ever. The food and service were terrible. Never again. There are too many great Italian restaurants in this city to choose from.
Love this location on the corner with outdoor seating. Bright and light with delicious homemade pastas, yummy salads and healthy main courses with a variety of fish and meat. Great range of food to fit all tastes. Vibrant atmosphere that makes you happy and a menu that is simply fresh, unprocessed and tasty!
The restaurant was terrible. On Christmas night when we sat down we were told that almost half of the dishes on the menu were sold out. It was too late to find another restaurant on Christmas night. The manager never came over to apologize and nothing was done to address the issue even after we complained.
We made a reservation in advance but the host looked annoyed we had a little toddler with us. We had to wait for our table for 15 minutes. Which is fine, but they kept accepting walk-ins at the same time... A group of four next to us who walked in without a reservation and got a table in the middle of the restaurant after a 15 minuten wait . When our table was finally ready it turned out to be a makeshift table right next to the door. Which was more open than closed because of the busy night. We had to keep our coats on because it was freezing. A few groups who who were appointed the tables next to us walked out of the restaurant because of the cold. Service was very slow, it was Christmas night and they didn’t seem to have it under control. We have been coming to this restaurant for more than twenty years but this was the worst experience so far. Shoving in your Christmas dinner asap with your coat on...
Very disappointing. This reservation was made 3 weeks in advance for Christmas Day for 7 people. Instead of being seated in the back dining area, we were crammed near the entrance in a very inconvenient space, as if we arrived off the street without a reservation. With the exception of one, most of the waiters were rude and rushed. We had to request drinks and other services several times before served. We are not hard to please, but this was unacceptable.
Mediocre Food. A Caesar Salad that was totally unrelated to the original.....nothing more than some lettuce with shaved cheese on top. Branzino was tasteless and overcooked. Ravioli was satisfactory. The best part of the meal was the Cappuccino. Service was erratic and phony Italian.
