This beautiful restaurant is a short walk away from Madison Square Park, Il Fiorista means The Florist in Italian, where we explore botanical ingredients in our brunch, dinner, and bar menus. Much like Italian cuisine this allows for local and seasonal produce, we source from the Union Square Greenmarket and local producers. Il Fiorista is open seven days a week for dinner and aperitivo hour, also weekend brunch with indoor and patio seating featuring specials from our extensive wine list and cocktails. I was looking forward to ll Fiorista. I Ordered the Osso Buco, the most expensive item on the menu from the waiters recommendation. At first glance, the dinner seemed so big and grand, and I was so excited. After taking 2-3 normal-sized bites, I realized that the entire meal was made of bone and intense fat to the point where I couldn't swallow it. I was very disappointed with my order... and it definitely wasn't worth the $52. The other appetizer wasn't bad, but it did not excite my taste buds. I don't recommend the Osso Buco, but the waiter asked how it was I smiled and told him thank you for the recommendation even tho I wasn't enjoying it and I think he noticed and gave me dessert.

Ordered the rigatoni for $28 and was incredibly disappointed in the portion size. Plate came with two flowers and 10 noodles. Would not go back or recommend.

Extremely slow - 1+ hour for entrees to come out. Nice ambiance but poor value. We told them we didn’t want dessert, just the check, and the waitress brought over menus and said “my boss told me I have to show you.”

Unfortunately our Sunday brunch wasn’t great. The service was the issue, 3 of 10 meals delivered cold, food and coffees served piecemeal. 1 person sent back to warm it up, and it came back just as cold!

I picked this place because it was described as having a florist shop in front, restaurant in back. No flower shop. There were two decorative plants at front and back and some small vases on tables with seasonal foliage in them. Service was slow. Server got our order wrong so half our group had to wait even longer for their meal. I had the poppyseed waffle which tasted more like a thin dense biscuit. Daughter's eggs were watery and runny. I had high hopes for this place. Disappointing.

Il Fiorista was a lovely option, and our guests enjoyed dinner as much as we did. We would have loved more air conditioning, honestly, but the service and ingredient quality made up for it.

Interesting menu that includes a lot of plant and flower ingredients (as one would expect based on the name). The specialty cocktails were good, but the pasta was excellent. Also had great recommendations from the owner (?) for wine to pair with dinner and grappa at the end of the night.
