Love this restaurant!
I have been twice now and LOVE this place. Food is consistently excellent, and service is top notch. The restaurant and ambience is great. My only complaint is there is little parking in the area, and it doesn't seem like they have valet. Otherwise it's an incredible restaurant for both small and large parties.
Excellent food and service. Will definitely be back again.
Great place for dinner before events at the Wintrust Arena. :)
This place is always a pleasure to go to. Great food and great service at a reasonable price.
Great neighborhood place. Great service. Good option for a quick bite if going to McCormick/Wintrust.
Great overall experience!
This Italian restaurant was ok. Everything tasted average, but the prices were really high. The service and location were good, but the food was not that great. I had to salt and pepper my pasta since it was pretty bland, and the serving size wasn't that big for that price. I probably won't go back unless the prices drop or the food gets better.
Good food and service, just a little loud!
Overall, a nice addition to the neighborhood that includes all the staples of an Italian restaurant for the masses. It's very crowded, especially leading up to a game at Wintrust (doors 250ft away). Portions are hearty, even large enough to split. The cannoli dip dessert is a game-changer.
What a surprise I had, not knowing about this groups success with other locations. Everything about II Culaccino is fantastic. Knowlegeable staff, great food, I am a fan and will return regularly. Thanks Frank!!!
Valentines date with the wife. Food was divine and the service was good
Great food, drinks and service!! Easy last minute reservation for a busy weekend!
We were welcomed and given the booth that I preferred.
Our waiter was a delight and very attentive! He explained the menu, made a recommendation for a sparkling wine, checked on us often.
The restaurant was very nice, the owner came over and spoke! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and my son and his girlfriend joined us, so we were just tickled pink! I tasted my son’s steak and it was perfectly prepared so was my pasta and shrimp! My husband a picky eater enjoyed his salmon! Best Valentine’s Day in years!!!
Can’t wait to go back!!!
Darling, you simply must try it!
Delicious Italian food with aromatic subtle flavors.
We had a very good experience for our first visit to this comfortable restaurant with excellent basic Italian food.
Excellent service and the food it was delicious
Great location, great service.
Exquisite dining experience every time.
Booked this as a spur of the moment after a gymnastics meet at McCormick center. It was freezing out and we didn’t want to go far, and it was down the street. We were more than pleasantly surprised. Service was fantastic and food was outstanding. My daughter ordered chicken Parmesan which literally took up her entire plate! Will definitely go again when in the area.
This was our first time at Il Culaccino and let me start by saying we'll be back. Everyone made us feel very welcomed, especially our server Jordan. Everything we ate was outstanding.
Best food and service restaurant near Wintrust Arena!
Everything was very good ! Perfect spot to tuck into and very authentic dishes
This is a nice, well-run place with great light and great service. The food is good and we will be back.
If you are in the area you will find it a nice place with excellent food. It was close to our hotel and McCormick Place.
This is a great place for a great dinner.
I would recommend to a friend
Surprisingly inventive and well-prepared higher end Italian food in a location that would seem to appeal more to tourists and those attending events in the Wintrust center. Three of us had a late lunch on a Saturday and our server was doing double (triple?) duty with hosting duties and two exceptionally large tables (10+). Despite this, he checked on us regularly and our courses were served perfectly paced and as fresh as could be. The atmosphere was surprisingly intimate and refined.
We love it here! Food is delicious and the service is very attentive. Ben was our server last night and is fantastic. I also appreciate that the manager always stops by our table to check in and thank us for our visit.
I had the chicken parmesan and it was fantastic. There was a good portion of food for the price you pay. I would recommend this place to a friend.
They took great care of us and the food was really delicious!!!
First time here. We were looking for a dinner spot after a show at McCormick Place and this is right around the corner. We made a reservation for 7:15 on a Friday night and were seated immediately. They brought two baskets of fresh soft bread, Olive Oil with Parmesan Cheese and water as soon as we sat down. The waiter came quickly and took our drink orders and was back right away. The menu actually has more choices than it appears since all the Chicken and Veal dishes are grouped under one heading and come in the same variations.
We tried the Grilled Calamari appetizer which was unusual, but great. Large hunks of tender Calamari cooked perfectly. The unusual part were the greens that it's served on. The chewiness of the greens kind of distracted from the snap of the Calamari but, when separated, worked fine.
The Chicken Parmesan was pounded thin, generously covered with melted cheese and served over a mound of Mostaccioli. The serving was gigantic, easily enough for two.
The Bone-in Pork Chop was also huge and, at least, two inches thick. They recommend cooking it "medium" but, although good, my friend felt it was a little over-done.
We had plenty of leftovers and we didn't even have any soup, salad or any of the very tempting deserts.
The atmosphere was surprisingly casual with a slightly strange music mix playing.
One minor annoyance was that the bowl-like dishes they use for the entrees don't allow you to set your knife on the edge. But we quickly adjusted after our knives fell into the food a couple times.
Overall EXCELLENT! Can't wait to go back.
This restaurant is excellent! The food was fantastic (try Nona's gravy, and the highlighted ricotta appetizer! Outstanding). Our server, Shane, was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. It was our first visit, so he was very helpful with food decisions. Everything there was high-quality, fresh, and homemade. We will be back soon!
Our waitress, Kayla, was friendly, attentive and helpful. Food and wine were fantastic and a good value. Italian basics done right! My wife was even able to order her desired veal prep off menu.
Generous portion size with efficient, friendly, and attentive staff. Great place!
Went there to meet friends that were staying at the nearby Marriott Marquis. The restaurant is very convenient for those going to McCormick Place or the nearby hotels. The food and drinks were good and fairly priced, and the service was efficient. My only complaint is that once the crowd arrived after 6pm, it was extremely loud and hard to have a conversation. I wish restaurants would put some noise dampening in, but noisy seems to be the trend.
