Il Chianti Italian Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant was a surprise based on the location. The food was excellent and it was a pleasure to talk to Chef Rudy. We only went for lunch so it was not crowded at all. The experience was good but would have been great if the "timing" on the service was a little better. It took a little while to get our water and the bread was delivered when we finished our salad. As the bread was delivered, our salad dish was taken AND our bread dish was also taken so we were left waiting for our main meal with bread and no bread dish. It's a small thing, but it's the small things that make a restaurant "great". Just a comment!
Can't believe we had this gem so close and never went. Amaxing lamp chop appetizer! Bread sticks were so fabulous with balsamic reduction. Wow. Salmon salad was do great. Crunchy skin and so moist. Pasta Mediterranean was so rich and yummy. CannolI for desert, the best. I booked my birthday party here! Ask for Rose. She is absolutely wonderful. She knows the menu and will recommend to your tastes. A must try. We also met the Chef who is so talented and a really caring, nice guy. Does so much for children in need.
Wow. Going back soon.
I had the Linguine with Clams - clams were very fresh, the broth, a little too much garlic
My companion had Saltimbocca - did not enjoy and hardly ate it as cheese overpowered
the veal. Had requested that basil be used in lieu of sage and that was done but veal was
The waitress was excellent - very attentive and apologetic. She let the Chef know
the dissatisfaction and one of the entree's was removed from the bill.
May give the restaurant a second chance
Service was authentically great. The people were great, the Chef evens comes out to talk to you.
Live music a nice touch. Meatballs were excellent, but veal was very tough and the lemon in the pasta was too much..
Special occassion dinner but no recognition offered except verbal congrats.
The food at Il chianti is amazing! I had the chef Rudy 's adobo nation. The portion was large and so delicious. I had leftovers and it was almost better the next day. The atmosphere is nice and quiet with old music playing in the background. Chef Rudy always stops by your table to say hello. If you are in the mood for Italian, you have to check this place out. You will not be disappointed!
Always a great time when dining at Il Chianti! Chef Rudy and his staff are top notch.
The lamb chops are a MUST to start with. And the fresh baked bread is the best I've had at any restaurant. The pasta is cooked to perfection, and always enough to take home for leftovers.
Such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, my boyfriend and I love coming here.
This is the third time (and not the last) we've eaten at Il Chianti. The dishes are served hot and totally made to order. Excellent in the portions and taste. The chef (owner) visits each table to make sure everyone is satisfied. This visit we all had various dishes of chicken and pasta. I had the lasagna which was first rate. Excellent and served right out of the oven on a hot plate. Our only complaint was that the waitress and bus people were at our table too often to ask if everything was satisfactory. One visit would have been fine. Love the food and font be fooled with the small strip store location. The food is the best
Our second time there. Always friendly and always great service. Very accommodating and responsive to the needs of diners. Receptive to feedback and they clearly have a desire to make them place better each time. Great food, can't wait to go back. Great neighborhood eatery.
We were visiting our daughter. She suggested Il Chianti saying she'd been wanting to try it. She knew we would order a varied amount of items. Service was excellent, attentive but not intrusive. Chef Rudy stopped by to chat to make sure all his guests were satisfied with their evening. The breadsticks that came with our drinks had two dipping sauces, a piquant red and an herbed oil. We would have loved to say yes to a second basket. We then began with three items, the first of which was a delicious Caesar salad with crisp greens. We shared a very flavorful lobster bisque, the best I've had in awhile. I think the starter favorite was the shrimp bruschetta. The sauce was just a bit spicy, reflecting the chef's Philippino background. It came with a side of spring greens coated with a beautiful balsamic dressing (I think) with pieces of Applewood smoked bacon. Superb! We had three entrees: the eggplant Siciliana had a thick, flavorful red sauce; the lobster ravioli topped with blackened rock shrimp was in a lighter vodka sauce; and the Linguini alla Mediterranea - everyone's favorite - was in a to-die-for truffle oil sauce. Since we had ordered way too much, my daughter said she'll try dessert when she returns soon with friends. Meanwhile, we can't wait to return during our next visit.
this isn't the first time and it won't be the last. Had dinner with friends and everything was perfect. love the rolls too. Pasta is always perfect and the fra diovlo tasted great. Large shrimp, and friends had the chicken parm was extremely good. Cant wait to go back
Terrific little Italian restaurant, with a fantastic menu and equally wonderful service. A warm, friendly atmosphere permeates the cozy establishment, and the service is absolutely top notch. The food is terrific, with a variety of familiar favorites as well as a few more experimental options, and all of the highest quality. The chef, who has trained in Italy, will sit at your table and chat with you for a bit as well, giving a personal touch to your excellent meal. My family and I have been several times in the last year, and will continue to visit frequently.
The food was some of the very best we've had. The lobster ravioli was amazing. Sangria was excellent. Service was great, but got a little slow when the place got busy - everyone was working very hard! The chef visited our table and chatted with us - very pleasant and personable. Everyone was so nice! I would recommend 100 percent.
Just found this place and love it. Little small, in a strip mall. Dont be fooled. Brought my extended family back and they loved it. Have had spaghetti, lasagna, clam chowder, chicken. All very good. The portions are good size, I always have to take food home.... staff is friendly. Chef comes out to say hello. Oh, try the fresh bread with thier marinara sauce too. We like a couple other Italian restarts in area, but we think we like this one better. Give it a try!
The service was great and the food was over-the-top great! Chef Rudy is certainly at his best! The menu is varied and the specials really are "special." Be sure to check the wines not on the menu. Several bottles in the back of the restaurant to choose from. Be sure to try the balsamic reduction with your bread.
Chef Rudy is incredibly talented and such an engaging host. He visits every table and greets every guest. The food is incredible ! The best Italian we've found here and an outstanding value. Don't let the strip mall location fool you. Il Chianti is the real deal....worth the drive. You will not be disappointed!
The food was exceptional. We had the lamb chop appetizers with the wasabi sauce. It makes my mouth water even thinking about it. I had salmon and rissoto for my main course and the chef came out to talk to is and when I told him how much I liked the wasabi sauce he said I really needed to try it on the salmon. He was right. He even sent me home w a container of sauce. Great guy, wonderful place for great food. Larger portions with a really good price.
