Il Castello Ratings and Reviews
The ink pasta with Lobster and clams and mussels was sensational . My husband and I shared the meal . The pasta was al dente.. Leo our waiter was attentive and informative . He suggested a great Savion Blanc wine from new Zealand. My sister had the Branzini with herbs and lemon and was moist melt in your mouth .
Looking forward to returning for another memorable meal.
Made a same day reservation on Valentines day for 4 people at 7:00. We were greeted at the door with a fine hello and our table ready for us. The service was excellent. Leo and the rest of the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding. Appetizers were well made and well sized. The entrees were delicious and again not overly large but more then enough for a healthy portion. Dessert was surprising as the Ricotta cheesecake was one of the best I have ever eaten. We will be back
Very much a small local place that caters to their regular customers. In fact most of the restaurant seemed to be populated with regulars. Special Branzino was the best fish I have ever had . . .. however, salad was nothing special, three veal dishes ordered by 3 other diners were not at all good and pasta was to quote my husband, "probably Ronzoni." for the prices go elsewhere for Italian food, if an italian restaurant cannot serve good pasta and good veal then what's the point?
Food was excellent. Quarters were a little tight, I imagine because this restaurant is so popular and-busy they try to accommodate as many as possible and keep the customers moving at fast pace.. We got the last reservation on a Saturday night. The waiters were professional and gracious. Honestly, we felt a little unappreciated and rushed out when our bill came from manager -when we hadn’t even received our coffee or dessert. He was apologetic and offered after dinner cordials when he realized , however message was sent; No lingering too busy! Food was delicious though -guess we were lucky to have reservations on such a popular night
Consistently outstanding, with delicious food, warm and attentive service, and pleasant atmosphere. Lenny greets you by name and always checks to make sure you are happy with your dinner. Specials are numerous and reflect creativity. Excellent veal dishes; fish is top-quality. Branzino is especially good. Service is friendly; your water glass is replenished often. Valet parking is a definite plus, especially in cold weather, and is efficient. In sum, Il Castello continues to be a gem as well as an excellent value.
We have been coming here for quite some time since we discovered it. The food is terrific and the staff is so friendly and pleasant. They go out of their way to make your experience perfect. We not only go for occasional date nights but also for special occasions. It is perfect to bring a large family. There is something for everyone.
This Italian food is the highest quality presented and served with professional finesse by a terrific staff.
Same owners also have a sister restaurant in larchmont. Lenny’s which we love as much. Thanks to lenny for making these two fantastic dining choices in the sound shore. Love them both highly recommended!!!!
Lenny continues to make this proper Mamaroneck Restaurant a true gem for classic Italian dining. Listen carefully to the specials as each one is carefully selected based on the freshest ingredients and the chef has a perfected recipe book. Veal Valdostana literally melted in my mouth. Il Castello draws an older crowd compared to his other Restaurant “Lenny’s Seafood and Steakhouse “, but I think the clientele are wise to the slightly upscale dining options here.
Always a great meal !This is our "goto" restaurant , that we go to regularly. The food is varied enough to always get a new taste. Service is truly impeccable. And on Mondays, we go to their sister restaurant, Lennys in Larchmont for similar fare, plus prime steaks.
Yep, good food consistently.
When we walked in, the place was packed so full there was literally no place to stand. Luckily it wasn't winter, and the owner quickly brought us drinks to happily pass the 5 minute wait outside. The staff was attentive and friendly, and the food was outstanding. No disappointments whatsoever and we'll definitely be back.
