Il Castello Ratings and Reviews
When we walked in, the place was packed so full there was literally no place to stand. Luckily it wasn't winter, and the owner quickly brought us drinks to happily pass the 5 minute wait outside. The staff was attentive and friendly, and the food was outstanding. No disappointments whatsoever and we'll definitely be back.
We love Il Castello and try to dine here as often as we can. Lenny, the owner, and his staff are very attentive . The food is consistently great and prepared to perfection. It was very crowded for a Tuesday night but service never suffered. We would recommend Il Castello to anyone looking for their forever restaurant.
Food was excellent! I am a Chicken Scarpiello snob. The dish was perfectly done! The drinks were great (a bit pricey) and the service could not have been better. I liked how the noise level was not too high, so you could actually have a conversation. They had an enormous list of specials, even for a Sunday night. All in all, this is definitely being added to our stable of "go to" restaurants.
for a Saturday night, the service and food remains true to their excellent style. The owner and waiter greeted us as old valued patrons( which we are). The wine selection was just right for our wine savvy table. Everybody had different appetizers and main course, which w all shared with a taste. All were excellent.
if you like garlic, just ask for additional, especially the Cesar sald .Just say "Larry's Cesar" and they will know.
This is our all time favorite "eat ou" & "go to" restaurant. it is nearby in a non nondescript building on the main street of Mamaroneck with valet parking if needed. The train station is nearby and has lots of spaces in the early evening.
Their cocktails are more than ample, along with a good wine list.
The food is always outstanding. lots of specials each night depending on the season.
One of our favorites are the table-side Cesar salad preparation. If you like garlic, ask for Larry's version. Other great dishes are Chicken Scarparello, most pastas and their duck specials. They always have branzino and dover sole finished at the table.
Lenny the owner has another restaurant close by. On Mondays, when Il Castello is closed, visit Lenny's Steakhouse a mile away( open everyday), to get similar prepared dishes as well as prime steaks.
Every meal is a winner and take it from someone who eats there almost weekly or more.
Came to Il Castello with Joe and Carol
Had a wonderful dinner. Conversation
was great and the dinner equally matched
I had the house salad and chicken scarpiello
which had abundant chicken and sausage
Delicious. Kathy had the pappadele which was excellent
Joe had thepounded veal with salad
He said excellent
Carol had the Congolese clams which were plentiful
A very good night by all
We love Il Castello and return here often. Understated elegance, attentive service, excellent food. Our out-of-town guests loved it too. We plan on returning in 3 weeks for a birthday celebration and are looking forward to it.
As always Ill castello does not disappoint. The Dover Sole is a hard dish to keep consistent but they get it every time. Absolutely delicious. The wait staff is so friendly and attentive but not over bearing. Wines are sensible and well paired.
