    It was great, but it's a bit loud. But the food and everything fabulous and it's a public restaurant, so don't let that dissuade you.

    Il Carciofo, one of the best Italian restaurants in Chicago! My husband and I dined here on a Monday night and it was surprisingly poppin’. I could write a narrative but the review has a character limit so I’ll keep it brief:

 CARCIOFO ALLA GIUDIA (better than any we’ve had in Italy, not greasy at all) FIORI DI ZUCCA FRITTI (was currently in season and it was filled with just the right amount of whipped ricotta) CAPRICCIOSA (best Neapolitan style pizza in the city, the crust was airy and I’ve never had this combination of toppings together, must try!) AGNOLOTTI (the pasta was perfectly al dente and the right amount of black truffle, doesn’t try to over power the dish) VITELLO SALTIMBOCCA (my husband said it was great) ASPARAGI (perfectly cooked) Our waiter, Ryan, also hooked us up with a complimentary coconut cream dessert (I don’t know if it’s on the menu but you better believe I’ll ask for it next time I dine at Il Carciofo) and Christian at the Forno topped it with reduced amarena cherry sauce. The service was exceptional! Can’t wait to dine here again! Prior visit review: Oh and I've had maybe a 100 Cacio e Pepe's in my life, this place is my new favorite!

    Great service. Staff explained dishes. We did 3 antipasti and ordered entrees for our group of 6 and everyone was very pleased.

    I had an outstanding experience! Had the opportunity to sit at the chef’s counter and enjoyed every second of the experience. The kitchen staff were extraordinarily professional and skilled. They were led by an outstanding head chef and sous chef, who navigated a very busy service well. Every plate, cocktail, and conversation I had was enjoyable and it’s obvious people liked working there. Special shoutout to Brandon working the line!

    The service and food here was excellent! The food definitely pays homage to food I’ve eaten in Rome in a really authentic way. Highly recommend the namesake appetizer (Carciofo), the carbonara, & any of the gelatos!
