Located in the historic Fulton Market district of Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood, il Carciofo is a Roman Italian restaurant drawing inspiration from the restaurants and markets in one of Chef Joe's favorite cities, Rome. The restaurant offers a seasonal menu of elevated yet familiar Italian fare with traditional antipasti, Roman-style pizzas, hand-rolled pastas produced daily in a dedicated pasta lab and market-driven mains that highlight the season's bounty.

Our experience dining here for our wedding anniversary was incredible! Our sever was very helpful in deciding what we should order, Joe Flamm came to our table to drop off one our apps. Incredibly memorable experience and can't wait to come back.

Great food and drinks, incredible service! Really enjoyed this experience. I feel like the portion to price ratio was a little off on some items but I’m not surprised given the area and this economy.

The food was incredible. We would have appreciated speedier and more attentive service. The menu is beautiful, but almost EVERY SINGLE WORD is in Italian, which meant a lot of looking up each item to decide what we wanted.

Second time in. They continue to kill it with amazingly hospitable service and outstanding food. Can’t wait to come back.

Food was perfection Pasta as usual was spot on. So tender. The steak was so flavorful melts in your mouth. What about the asparagus!

One of the very best Italian restaurants in the city. The have 3 out of the 4 famous Roman Pasta dishes all just excellent. They really should add the fourth to complete a totally unique dining experience. Treat yourself and go here as soon as you are able’

Il Carciofo was incredible!! The food and flavors were all outstanding — it’s been such a long time since I’ve had bread as good as theirs. The vegetables were cooked to perfection, the pastas flavorful, and the salad was so enjoyable I’d absolutely consider coming back just for that dish alone. I will be back, just need to get another group together. Thank you!!
