My wife and I celebrated our anniversary there the other night and it was spectacular. As nice and elegant as any in the north end of Boston without the hassle. An absolute gem. Experienced and well trained service with just the right attention.

Discovered through friends two years ago and return often introducing new friends to this great restaurant. Specially enjoy seeing Vinny each time. Food is spectacular and Vinny's desserts are deliciously original.

Great food. Exceptional really. Waiter did bait and switch with wine that I didn't appreciate. Told me that we'd like an earlier vintage of the wine I selected better. I think he should have mentioned it would cost substantially more. I was with guests and didn't want to make a big deal about it when the check came. But I would have stuck with my original selection had I known the cost difference. Very low brow move by the restaurant to make a few more $$

We have been dining at Il Capriccio for over ten years and it has remained consistently outstanding. It has a few perennial favorites on the menu, the porcini soufflé is a particular favorite, but also continues to explore new recipes that keep it fresh and seasonal. Every item is cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. The wine list is exceptional and includes wonderful selections by the glass, half bottle and full bottle at a variety of price points. Staff is friendly and welcoming always. Highly recommend Il Cappricio.

Fine food with a creative flair, always delicious. Fine wine list with notable wines even on the per glass offerings. A bit far from home but worth the trip.

The hostess was very welcoming when we arrived and when we departed. The menu was diverse so it wasn't hard for anyone to find something they liked. I asked if they could make an item not on the menu and they were more than happy to do so. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Definitely a restaurant I would return to.

I have been dining here for years and have never been disappointed. Food is rich, delicious and tasty. Wines are selected and imported by the restaurant and have always been gems. I highly recommend it.

The above ratings are totally inadequate to describe one of the best restaurants in Boston. I went for the food and service. The food was outstanding and service over the top. A great restaurant with friendly service and got to meet the chef, Richie.

Once again we had two great meals. The Braised Oxtail Risotto with Red Wine and Parmigiano Reggiano is a great new addition to the menu and loaded with flavor. The seafood was amazingly fresh in the Seared Sea Scallops and Maine lobster on Beet Risotto and Moscato d’Asti Sauce.

Every time we have gone to this restaurant, we always have a wonderful meal. The food is fantastic, and the service always wonderful. Such unusual presentation and ingredients , together with some top notch wines.

Food and service were excellent! Everyone ordered something different and every dish was delicious.

I entertained a small group of colleagues in the smaller private room and had an exquisite meal . The room was quiet and we were able to have a productive business meeting. Food was delicious, service was professional and the wine list impressive. I will continue to bring important business clients to this restaurant.

Il Capriccio is my wife's favorite restaurant. She always tells people it is "Boston quality" without the hassle of going downtown. WE always have creative dishes. This last time I had an amazing veal chop (done rare as I asked!) and my wife had another veal dish. Wines were excellent. Wait staff was very attentive. Living in southern NH, it is an easy 40 minutes away ... but well worth it.

Another great meal-this place never disappoints- a classic that keeps up with the times without losing its special character.

My husband and I returned to this lovely place for a quiet dinner. The wine and food were exceptional and we had an overall amazing meal. The chef's culinary talents are incredible and I so enjoyed the scallops and lobster with beet risotto. My husband had incredible veal. The receptionist is so friendly and kind and the wait staff is wonderful with wine selections too. Overall great time.

Fabulous dining experience, IL Capriccio never disappoints!!!

Our second visit in two months, and once again Il Capriccio gets top marks - great food, great service, a lovely evening. My husband's cod was a thick tender slab. I typically skip cod because it's seldom compelling...but this was *good.* The bread and olive oil are dangerously delicious.

Dinner after business meeting exceeded our high expectations. Cocktails, fine wine and delicious food. We shall return.

Always wonderful. Carbonara to die for. We had trout which was spectacular.

We had a great dinner this weekend at Il Capriccio. We love the way they prepare their gravlax with egg and anchovies. It is a very well prepared first course. I had the lamb chops with a dark sauce that were very tender and were cooked just right. It was my husband's birthday and so they had little stickers on the table with a birthday cake and celebration symbols. It was a cute touch. I had the chocolate dessert which was great. It is a very friendly place with a nice staff.

This restaurant is a gem. The food is superb and most restaurants in Boston should take note.

We took our two kids ages 11 and 15 for a nice evening out. It was truly a lovely meal and the service was excellent.

The food here is excellent, very good northern Italian, excellent wine selections.

This was our first visit to Il Capriccio and will not be our last. The food was phenomenal and the staff - waitresses and hostess made us feel so welcome.

Tried two new dishes, the Veal Osso Bucco and the Oxtail with Risotto. Both were excellent and highly recommended. Looking forward to my next visit.

We are never disappointed with our dining experience at Il Capriccio. The food is delicious, the service is impeccable and the cocktail & wine list is impressive.
