About Il Capriccio
Il Capriccio serves a constantly changing Northern Italian menu featuring local products with an award winning Italian wine and Grappa list. Though long considered a local secret, Il Capriccio has been the number one Northern Italian restaurant in Zagat's for the past seven years. The wine list has been featured in Decanter, Sante, Wine & Spirits and Stuff. The same menu is served in the Bar. We like to serve great food and great wine in a comfortable setting.

Il Capriccio Ratings and Reviews
We were there for my husbands birthday. They were wonderful and put a decoration on the table. The sea bass was fabulous. He had the lasagna. His only complaint was that the serving was not that amble- especially for the price. The cocktails and wine were great. I would go again for a special occasion The service was wonderful. We had the lemon mouse dessert and it was dvine.
We had a lovely time in a private room downstairs (7 people). Service was attentive and lovely. Food was quite good, portions on smaller side, pricey but delicious and sophisticated Tuna tar tar a favorite! It's a really nice atmosphere in the main dining room as well as in the cozy room we were in.
What can I say? My family and I have been coming this this restaurant for so long that I can’t even remember when we first inhabited this restaurant treasure. We have become good friends with the owner and his staff and consider this place to be our “Cheers.”
We ate dinner with four of our dearest friend’s last Saturday nite and we were treated like royalty. The service was exceptional and the entrees were delicious as always. Richie also added extra specialities such as a fabulous mussel appetizer and completed our meals with a wonderful assortment of mouth watering desserts. (At no additional cost).
This restaurant and its staff are exceptional and we look forward to visiting many more times in the future.

Though I live in the same town as Il Capriccio, I had never been there before. I was very impressed with the food- everything we tasted was delicious, and we especially loved the fettuccini with duck and mushrooms, the Osso Bucco special, andSeared Sea Scallops with Arugula and Beet Pesto, Drizzled Balsamic and Sweet Potato Purée.
For dessert, we tried the Warm Chocolate Budino withSalted Caramel Sauce and
Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream and the Warm Pear Almond Crostata with Calvados Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream, both of which were delicious, although the chocolate dish won the most yummy sounds! Highly recommended for special occasions!
Richie Barron and his team never disappoint. The lasagne bolognese with parmigiano reggiano was amazing. The Soufflé did Porcini never disappoints as well as the the menu mainstay Chicken “Schnitzel”.
The wine menu is extensive, but no worries when Jason Almlof is on staff. Jason is among the top sommelier in the business. Jason listens first and always delivers with perfect recommendations.
Can’t wait to my next visit to Il’Capricos.
Superb food with many classic choices that are always reliable. Excellent service. Fine wine list.
Good blend of seafood and meat dishes. Swordfish was perfectly prepared over French lentils and steamed vegetables.. PEI Steamed Mussels are always terrific. Some good italian choices as well.
Rissotto is always a perfectly prepared.
The Warm budino chocolate cake was terrific for our special birthday celebration...
Cannot go wrong at Il Capriccio!
I have been going to Il Capprichio once a month for over 35 years. I eat out an enormous amount both on personal and business occasions. It is astonishing to me that Il Capprichio continues to be an on-going delight. The food is fabulous (I loved the stuffed quail with sweetbreads this last week); the wine list is wonderful; the wait staff is so warm and friendly. I can’t imagine a better eating experience and how the restaurant continues to excel year in and year out is remarkable. I love every aspect of Il Capprichio.
In town for the holidays, we stopped here after a movie for our date night. Must give credit to the wonderful hostess and attentive server who moved us to another room after our first table was next to a loudmouth. I do wish people would moderate their voices so that everyone in the room doesn't have to hear their riveting stories. My mussels and quail were excellent; my wife had soup and scallops, which she enjoyed. Breads, desserts, and wine were all good. Nice experience.
Our first time at Il Capriccio. It was well worth the drive. Food was excellent. The wait staff is experienced, attentive and professional. Portions are not huge. We split several dishes, but next time we will order our own dishes.
Highly recommend this restaurant.
Everything about our visit was excellent. This was our first visit. The restaurant was easy to find, and had off-street parking. The restaurant was gracious, but quiet inside. We were promptly greeted and seated. The menu was diverse and interesting. Salads were tasty and unique. Hot food was served piping hot. Portions were just right. We loved the variety and options. Not a morsel was left on anyone's plate. Service was excellent. We left satisfied that we had a good meal - but not stuffed. We loved it, and will likely go back. We felt we made an excellent choice.
