Excellent food and warm personal service is always!
Love this place. Food is always great. Service and timing is flawless.
We have never been disappointed at Il Capriccio. We will certainly return.
The food and service were spectacular. We are making plans to come with a larger group as we noticed a couple of private rooms.
The meal was good but not amazing. While it was delicious, I was underwhelmed by some of the portions. The restaurant is clean and workable, but not ornate or fancy. And a simple meal for two people who ordered primarily from the "pasta" portion of the menu should probably not have amounted to $180 with tip. But if you can swing it, it's only money, right?
This place is such a gem!
I had the osso bucco , my husband had the quail.
Everything was delicious!
My most favorite spot in Boston. Great wine, meal and service for a night out with old friends. Items we all ordered were Porcini, Beet Salad, Arugula Salad, Mussels, Chicken Schnitzel (classic!), Swordfish, Scallops and Bolognese Lasagna (another classic!)...and the Chocolate Budino was scrumptious. Great time.
We were there for my husbands birthday. They were wonderful and put a decoration on the table. The sea bass was fabulous. He had the lasagna. His only complaint was that the serving was not that amble- especially for the price. The cocktails and wine were great. I would go again for a special occasion The service was wonderful. We had the lemon mouse dessert and it was dvine.
Party of 6 and the staff was attentive but gave us time to talk and catch up before rushing us to order. Atmosphere was fun and food was tasty.
We had a lovely time in a private room downstairs (7 people). Service was attentive and lovely. Food was quite good, portions on smaller side, pricey but delicious and sophisticated Tuna tar tar a favorite! It's a really nice atmosphere in the main dining room as well as in the cozy room we were in.
My husband and I enjoyed a delicious dinner with friends.
What can I say? My family and I have been coming this this restaurant for so long that I can’t even remember when we first inhabited this restaurant treasure. We have become good friends with the owner and his staff and consider this place to be our “Cheers.”
We ate dinner with four of our dearest friend’s last Saturday nite and we were treated like royalty. The service was exceptional and the entrees were delicious as always. Richie also added extra specialities such as a fabulous mussel appetizer and completed our meals with a wonderful assortment of mouth watering desserts. (At no additional cost).
This restaurant and its staff are exceptional and we look forward to visiting many more times in the future.
Tracey and Jeff Bennett
Cozy atmosphere in the bar area for a lite bite before seeing a movie. Great selection of lighter meal options. Delicious yellowfin tuna tartar and carbonara was a stand out.
Delicious food. We've been coming for many years and have never been disappointed.
We went here after 15+ years
As amazing as ever
The porcini soufflé was as wonderful as ever
Service was great....
We changed our table twice and the servers were as gracious as could be.
Food was amazing.
So glad we found it again.
Though I live in the same town as Il Capriccio, I had never been there before. I was very impressed with the food- everything we tasted was delicious, and we especially loved the fettuccini with duck and mushrooms, the Osso Bucco special, andSeared Sea Scallops with Arugula and Beet Pesto, Drizzled Balsamic and Sweet Potato Purée.
For dessert, we tried the Warm Chocolate Budino withSalted Caramel Sauce and
Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream and the Warm Pear Almond Crostata with Calvados Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream, both of which were delicious, although the chocolate dish won the most yummy sounds! Highly recommended for special occasions!
Striped bass and accompanying veggie assortment was great!
Fantastic experience. We dine at Il Capricio often and every time is wonderful
Superb food, knowledgeable and friendly staff, great wine selection continue to make this our favorite restaurant
Outstanding cuisine - some of the best the whole Boston area. I wanted everything on the menu. Looking forward to going back soon.
I absolutely loved this restaurant. There were three of us eating dinner together and each of adored our meals, from the appetizers to the main course to the desserts and coffee. I will be back, and you've never been there, once you go, you'll be back too.
Il Capriccio is consistently impressive. The food is authentic and delicious. The wine list is extensive and very well priced. The staff makes serving look effortless while taking care of every detail. Thank you Il Cap!
The striped Bass with artichoke and mushroom was out of this world. My friend said the chicken was by far the best chicken dish she ever had. Just a wonderful place, excellent service and very cozy.
Richie Barron and his team never disappoint. The lasagne bolognese with parmigiano reggiano was amazing. The Soufflé did Porcini never disappoints as well as the the menu mainstay Chicken “Schnitzel”.
The wine menu is extensive, but no worries when Jason Almlof is on staff. Jason is among the top sommelier in the business. Jason listens first and always delivers with perfect recommendations.
Can’t wait to my next visit to Il’Capricos.
Horribly over priced. Food was tasteless.
Superb food with many classic choices that are always reliable. Excellent service. Fine wine list.
Good blend of seafood and meat dishes. Swordfish was perfectly prepared over French lentils and steamed vegetables.. PEI Steamed Mussels are always terrific. Some good italian choices as well.
Rissotto is always a perfectly prepared.
The Warm budino chocolate cake was terrific for our special birthday celebration...
Cannot go wrong at Il Capriccio!
It's always been a favorite, but I don't eat seafood or eggs and the menu is quite limited for someone as picky as myself. wine selections and desserts are always awesome as well as the wait staff.
Great restaurant - excellent service, elegant ambiance - but needs more organic, sustainable, vegetarian options.
I have been going to Il Capprichio once a month for over 35 years. I eat out an enormous amount both on personal and business occasions. It is astonishing to me that Il Capprichio continues to be an on-going delight. The food is fabulous (I loved the stuffed quail with sweetbreads this last week); the wine list is wonderful; the wait staff is so warm and friendly. I can’t imagine a better eating experience and how the restaurant continues to excel year in and year out is remarkable. I love every aspect of Il Capprichio.
