Another exceptional meal. The 5 of us all had different entres and all were wonderful. Strongly recommend for a great dining experience.
Service was great,my husband ordered black risotto ,only a couple of small pieces of lobster in the 35.00 plate and much to salty.
My lasagna was also much to salty,we couldn't drink enough the rest of the evening.
Because it was just two of us dinning,we were seated at a tiny table next to a very loud couple, who ended up having an argument which was very uncomfortable being so close to them.
I was looking forward to a quiet dinner with my husband and expected more after spending 150.00 for dinner for the two of us .
I had dinner with two old friends the other night- my best friend and Il Capriccio. The octopus was perfectly spiced and the halibut so fresh it melted in my mouth. My friend had the mussels - completely delicious. Fantastic service - as always. Another wonderful evening courtesy of the Il Capriccio team. Thank you!
In general this is a great place overall (but not cheap). Nice decor, great service, wonderful food, and a good looking wine list. My main regret is that I don't have my old capacity for food and drink - there were a lot of things that I wanted to try but just couldn't "fit" in. Specifically, the Linguine Carbonara was other worldly and the Lemon Mousse dessert is not to be missed. I thought I was too full for dessert but the mousse was perfect, very light with a wonderfully bold flavor, it was the perfect ending to a great meal. The Antipasti was great (PEI Mussels and Large Spiced Shrimp) as well as the Ricotta and Asparagus Ravioli. I didn't taste the Chocolate Budino dessert but my dining partner seemed to really enjoy it, but I don't think it qualified as "light." Had a couple of great selections from the interesting wine - would have liked to explore further.
Everything was delicious!!
Birthday dinner for my spouse. They sprinkled birthday graffiti on the table as they seated us. Spouse had the grapefruit with greens salad and veal chop. I had baked pate with scallop and lobster/squid risotto with squid ink. Desert came with a single candle in the whip cream. No birthday singing (good). It's been a while since we were there, but will go back.
Wow! Everything is on point at Il Capriccio! The French influence on Northern Italian fare at this elegant, little restaurant makes for a truly unique dining experience. I usually dine out in Boston but Il Capriccio is well worth the trip out west to Waltham. When I go out I’m looking for three things: Food, Service, and Wine. Il Capriccio delivers on all three with refined cuisine, exceptional service and a world class wine list. The menu is extensive and offers great variety. Our server, Jodi, was excellent and left us wanting for nothing. The wine list rivals some of the best restaurants in Boston. Jan, the sommelier was a great resource to us in picking a delicious Italian red from a boutique producer in Sicily. Overall, a wonderful experience. Will be back!
Exceptional food and hospitality in a comfortable setting and convenient location. Halibut perfectly prepared. Shrimp appetizer, salads, carbonara and dessert all excellent. Wonderful wines and cocktails. Made a plain Saturday night a special evening. What more could you ask for. We will be returning soon.
An absolute gem. A frequent guest, I have never had a dish there that was anything less than delicious. Service is consistently excellent. A+
Words cannot express how consistent and outstanding every dining experience I have had, has been at this restaurant.
The service, people, and the quality of the food, are all second to none!
I have been dining here for years, and the food continues to be ever more impressive and innovative. Better than any Italian restaurant downtown, by far!
Absolutely worth a trip to the suburbs! Highly recommended.
The food was great and the service was amazing! Mark and Jody were wonderful, friendly and so helpful!
Food was delicious, service was attentive, and ambience was wonderful. We can't wait to come back!
Il Capriccio is consistently excellent. The food and service is always top notch. Can't wait to go back.
Food is outstanding and the service is helpful and measured. Class place
We have been going to this restaurant for many, many years. It is consistently terrific in every aspect.
Food was poor quality . New
Management? This restaurant used to be amazing.
Fabuloso! Really outstanding food, service and ambiance. We were a small family group celebrating multiple occasions. Had asked for a private room and even though they had said they were booked, we were pleasantly surprised to find they had given us a private room and had sprinkled festive confetti as well as placed flowers on the table. The server was friendly and everything came as ordered. Lovely experience. Highly recommended.
Terrific, as usual. Refined, straightforward, delicious Continental cuisine. French masquerading as northern Italian. Halibut, perfect. Duck breast, perfect. The Oregon pinot noir, perfect. Panna cotta, out of this world. My only complaint: sometimes they’re booked solid.
We are periodic diners at Il Capriccio. We always are a bit surprised by the consistency of the flavors as well as the consistency of the staff, so welcoming and warm. A wonderful night out with great food, wine and service.
Loved everything. Food was delicious!!! Service was attentive, had a great night.
Everything we ate was delicious.
Mussels and Spaghetti Carbonara shared apps for 4 people - perfect!
Chicken Schnitzel 3 orders for 4 people- 2 of us shared- OMG Perfection!
Chocolate Bundo shared by 4- exquisite!
Starving now that I am thinking of our meal🍷🎉
The food was amazing as well as the wine. The atmosphere was quaint bit energetic. We spent a good amount of time trying different antipasti and had excellent main courses. Though our server started off thrown off with what we assumed was shock from our younger age compared to the other patrons, he progressively became better as time went on. He was very helpful and very friendly in the end. Overall, the experience was worth every bit for a casual date night.
My husband and I were disappointed. We'd been here a couple times in the last 20 years and had memorable meals. We looked forward to great food, but everything we ordered was mediocre. Our beet salads had too little seasoning and too little goat cheese so that we didn't finish and took the beets home to do something with them later. While the porcini soufflé was tasty, I had to season it with salt and pepper and it had no texture beyond mushy. The rabbit gnocchi was a surprisingly ordinary red sauce which also needed salt and pepper to add flavor. I'd hoped dessert would redeem the meal, but the panna cotta with "candied nuts" was really roasted nuts with no sweetener. All the flavor of the dish came from the lavender honey syrup it sat in. It was strange. I can understand one dish being a miss, but all of them? Such a disappointment...and an expensive one too. My husband's comment is that the wine was the best part of the meal.
Amazing food. Great service. Thanks guys! Will see you again.
As usual— excellent authentic Italian food with exemplary service.
Have eaten at Il Capriccio for 35 years and have never had a bad experience. The food is wonderful, their wine cellar is fabulous, and the servers are helpful, pleasant, and knowledgeable. Definitely the top Italian restaurant in Massachusetts.
This was a our first time at II Capriccio and I will say the food was delicious but I was disappointed with the service. Our waitress apologized but we had to ask for things multiple times and it was slow in getting our drinks and food. Also with the amount you are paying the tables are squeezed in and a little to close for our liking.
Il Capriccio is one of my favorite spots but had not been there in ages. I'm happy to report it is just as good as ever, and remains a very reliable, interesting and delicious night out.
love all of their food but their chicken schnitzel takes my breath away so i pretty much always order that - staff is uber knowledgable about wine and their choices never disappoint -
Always a great experience. The food is always outstanding and service never fails. Jan is extremely helpful in suggesting the best wines to pair with dinner. We will return again soon.
Il Capriccio is, an always will be, our favorite. My husband tells me he decided to marry me after I brought him there 23years ago. Over the years, the food, service and atmosphere have always left us wanting to go back for more. This meal; we shared House cured gravlox with beautiful watermelon radishes, 2 Chef inspired and specially created pasta dishes featuring Cannelloni and Gnocchi, the always perfect Pan Roasted Halibut (prepared just how I like it), and the Roasted Veal Tendeloin nice and rosy over a bed of white beans. There is so much attenetion paid to all of the little details for each dish, right down to the imported home estate olive oil and every little vegetable that feels like they were all individually cooked and seasoned. The food comes at the perfect temperature served by congenial and professional wait staff (some of whom I recognize from our very first meal). The wine suggestions are always on point and inovative. Finally,as this was a birthday celebration, the desert of Warm Chocolate Budino was served on an artistically, one of a kind, decorated plate of chocolate swirls and flowers. Thank you to you all for 23 years of fine dining, great wine and wonderful memories.
Always a pleasant experience. Good, wine, and staff all great. Wish they had a full-time sommelier to help us work through the extensive wine list. Nevertheless, the server did a decent job. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back.
Great food, well-presented. Excellent service.
The food is consistently great and the service is excellent. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. We’ve eaten here many times and never have had a bad dish or subpar meal. Highly recommended.
The mushroom souffle was outstanding a wonderful dish to share and start the meal. The restaurant was very accomodating and made my gnocchi dish without meat and it was simply delicious. Plan to go again soon!
Always enjoy Il Capriccio but this time I was a little under whelmed. The service was wonderful and they helped move us to a quieter table once the nearby baby started crying. Bu
I have had excellent meals at Il Capriccio in the past. This meal was pretty ordinary. The Fettaccini Bolognaise was not terribly interesting, the salad also not well dressed, and ordinary. Desert was better, but didn't make up for the rest of the meal.
Great time with great food for a quiet dinner for two. Staff was attentive but never overbearing.
Excellent place to go for a good/special occasion.
Wonderful food - whatever you order.
