The atmosphere is casual and friendly. The artichoke appetizer we had was fabulous. The bucatini with olive oil and parmigiano was outstanding, as was the linguini wit mussels. This is one of our top restaurants in the city. We will definitely be back!
beyond delicious meal.........professional and convivial staff.........upbeat and welcoming ambiance.......
cannot wait to return
Remains our favourite local resto!
We had a fantastic dinner, as usual. Food and service were superb!
As always the food was exceptional. It was not crowded as it was Monday evening. My only criticism is that it can be crowded and tables are very close together.
Thank you so much for a very enjoyable dinner . I came to New York for three days for the Fancy Food Show. The pasta cacio e pepe was delicious. One of the guests ordered the halibut thinking it was without a sauce. When we asked our wait person to replate it without the sauce, they immediately removed the plate and prepared a new halibut without the sauce. Even tho we said it wasn't necessary, they were very helpful , gave us a new dish. Our guest was very happy. The pappardelle wth lamb and the crispy artichokes were also perfect. Thank you.
Loved everything about ot
Absolutely lovely restaurant, bartender, crowd and totally fantastic food!
The food was perfect but the metal chairs scraping on the terracotta floor was insanely annoying. Why don't they put pads on the chairs, get different chairs Borneo both??
Disappointing visit been many times before went with out of town guests. The cacio e pepe dry very little cheese. Complained to the waiter he said that was the way it was supposed to be I was looking forward to one of my favorite dishes. They forgot to give us our leftovers that to was disappointing.
Above average food. Pricey but not disappointing.
A neighborhood gem. The food is always perfect, service well paced and skilled, and atmosphere I can only describe as Italian Happy.
Very tight seating in the dining room...we changed to seating at the bar...porchetta was a treat along with the asparagus pesto risotto...all great...will definitely return!
Service was not the best.
The person who was in charge of taking my order did
not do a very good job on following up after
I ordered a drink (took 25 minutes to get it).
The servers who are not the waiter/s did a great job,
but the person who took my order did not really care
and did not in my opinion do as good a job as everyone else.
Fantastic - perfect for a quick, delicious bite.
Cucina italiana eccellente; pasta e pizza veramente buoni.
The staff was very attentive and the food was fantastic!
THANK YOU! BEST TIME EVER AND AMAZING FOOD AND ATMOSPHERE!
Great restaurant...told open table I was a no show
Had a wonderful time, as always. Food was excellent , crispy artichoke hearts , crude and lasagnette did not disappoint. Our bartender , Vincent was sweet , knowledgeable and attentive. He recommended the perfect wine for our meal.
Not at all what I expected from an expensive Italian restaurant. The food was barely ok, my risotto was undercooked and tasteless. Waiters were messy, although very nice. I felt I was paying too much for an average meal. Would not recommend it.
The salami board was very nice. Bread was cold. Polenta was wonderful!!! My husband ate parpadelle. He ate everything! I choose caio spaghetti. It was terrible, no al dente, it was hard.
It’s great place to have dinner w friends or for a date. Staff are very atteuand foos s always delicious.
Michael the Maitre de and Giada our waitress couldn’t have been more accommodating
We had a lovely evening!
We had exceptional salads and pastas. We are Il Buco fans and this is our first visit to Alimentari and it was great. The bartender made exceptional Manhattans.
The staff took excellent care of us and the food was INCREDIBLE!!! Beautiful atmosphere, fantastic wine and holy COW that house made gelato! Go here! Come hungry!
The taste and quality of the food and vine it s like to be in Italy awesome!
We enjoy the staff (from check in to the servers and bartender) - friendly, great attitude, nice folks. The food is wonderfully seasonal and tasty - highly recommended for lunch or dinner.
The food was amazing and service was impeccable. Our waitress and assistant went out of their way to make our anniversary special. Loved the quaint feel of the place.
After arriving late due to subway delays, we arrived frazzled and got seated at the bar top on a busy Friday. The bar staff could not have been more friendly and immediately raised the experience up several notches, making sure to top off my sparkling rosé and keeping close tabs on us. Our dishes were served with excellent pacing and each outdid the last, with the Manila clams appetizer and swordfish special two standouts.
The Restaurante and the food is amazing!
I did not enjoy my visit here. This was the second time I come to the restaurant and did not like the food or the service.
Love the downstairs room. When just two of us - love eating at the main bar or the Chefs bar. Great room, super food, flexible kitchen, tenured and top rate staff. A great value in NY dining - top rate all around!
We had the best waitress! Food was amazing and ambiance was even better. We are definitely going back.
Way way too loud. Drunk girls at next table screeched for over an hour. Unbearable.
We loved this restaurant. Food was delicious as was the service. It was also surprisingly quiet, so easy to have a conversation.
The food at Il Buco Alimentari & Vineria is always first-rate in the quality of ingredients and execution. Service is pleasant and prompt. The wine list is encyclopedic although more moderately priced wines would be welcome. Wine advice in my experience over several visits has been mixed, depending on the sommelier on hand. More attentive suggestions that do not trend to the more expensive options would also be welcome. Cocktails are excellent. I shall certainly keep going back anytime I'm in New York!
Salumi is outstanding; pasta dishes were perfect, especially the spaghetti bottarga...but the service is always a little reluctant. There always seem to be lots of staff...but none of them are our server...and the sommelier doesn't arrive until the first course has been served.
My family has had many wonderful dining experiences at Il Buco on Bond St. When we went to Il Buco Alimentary & Vineria for a Mother's Day brunch, we expected similar service in a new setting but were disappointed. First, although in writing when confirming the reservation, there was no children's menu available, for a Mother's Day brunch. Our server apologized and said it was a miscommunication with the back office, but as a result, our picky eater was now looking at a lovely, but beyond her comfort level fancy adult menu. Moving on, we found that all of the add-ons (coffee, juices, bread for the table, side of olive oil...) to the pre-fix quickly brought the bottom line up and took away the festive feeling - the outing quickly came to feel like a profit making venture versus a celebration. Our last note: the service was uneven with plates coming out at different times for the same course, tables who sat down after us being served ahead of us, water glasses being refilled twice in 5 minutes and then sitting empty for 20 minutes... We had probably (no lie) 7 different staff come to our table during the meal so it became confusing to know who was responsible for which aspect of the experience. The whole outing ultimately felt disappointing and nothing like our meals at the original Il Buco. We won't go back to this location.
Love this place. The combination of Italian meat/cheese shop, low key atmosphere and delicious food always make this a standout choice for me!
