The food and ambiance at Il Bistro was great. I will say, that I felt rushed, throughout the entire meal. They were friendly about it, but no more did I put my fork down, then someone was there to grab my plate. My HH experience was better.

The food was bland (and way overpriced), the restaurant was too dark, the server sat us next to the kitchen even though the restaurant was full, the busser rolled his eyes when we asked for more bread. I won't be going back. very disappointing.

We were celebrating my friend's birthday. We were highly referred by the Concierge at our hotel so we made a reservation. We were seated at a very awkward table next to a large group.

Our entire experience was unpleasant, from the very beginning. Our server immediately made us feel rushed, and as if we were an imposition. He never once made eye contact with us.

The small, two-top table was apparently on the main thoroughfare for all of the servers and bussers, because they constantly walked through the narrow space between us and the next table, narrowly missing our heads with the trays they were carrying. The bussers continually bumped into us, then gave us dirty looks, as if it were our fault, and we were in the way. At one point, one of the bussers dropped something on me, and never even acknowledged it. It was if the entire staff resented us being not only in the restaurant, but also resented us being seated in that spot. Let me be clear—we did not request that table, it’s the table we were shown to by the host.

The restaurant was busy, but that is no excuse for how we were made to feel. I have also, never, ever not left a tip for the server. On the contrary, given my friend's years in the hospitality industry, our inclination is always to over tip. But we didn’t leave a tip on Saturday night. And, frankly, we felt good about that. He didn’t deserve one.

I know the restaurant business is tough, and can be grueling, and I know that customers can sometimes be very challenging. However, we were polite and cordial. I would not recommend the restaurant.

It was very busy this Monday night. We had a nice drink at the bar before being seated at our table. The server was busy and the tables were packed. We ordered a bottle of wine. It arrived and we drank it all - slowly - even before the appetizer carpaccio showed up. It was another long wait until the salad, and then we ordered another bottle of wine while waiting for our meals. I was really disappointed at how cold the food was. Usually, it was hot and delicious. Even the risotto was chilly! This is not an inexpensive restaurant, but I will think twice about whether I want to come here again.

This was my first time here as I have lived in Seattle for 6 years and probably walked by it 1000 times. Its tucked next to Pikes Place and is a great place for Italian food. The waiters are very attentive, the drinks are on point and the food is great. We will definitely be back soon. I would recommend making a reservation as they book quickly on the weekends and don't usually have openings until 9 pm.

It is such a well located and romantic place. From the moment we got there I felt greatly treated. The food was amazing, even though we just went to take advantage of the restaurant week promotion.
We all tried the salmone which was a good quantity for an abundant eater as me, and Tiramisú, which is the best I've had till now.
The staff were kind and attentive. I would totally go back a special occasion

We were very disappointed by our visit to Il Bistro. We waited 40 minutes for our main dishes. I chose the pork tenderloin from the special menu (Seattle Restaurant Week) and it was overcooked and dry (charred on the outside and dried out on the inside). I was not able to inform the kitchen and did not have the opportunity to ask them to make it right because it would have made us late for our after-dinner event.

In addition to the overcooked meal, both my dish and my husband's fish dish (from the regular menu) were tiny. While I realize that the portion on my Seattle Restaurant Week dish might be smaller than normal due to the special pricing, the fact that it had one tiny sprig of broccolini and two small slices of potato with the meat is just not adequate. I mean, how much can it cost for another piece of broccolini and potato slice to fill out the dish some more? Really? And my husband's fish dish wasn't much more impressive.

Sadly, it was not an enjoyable experience and we were terribly disappointed. We cannot recommend this place at all.

I have eaten at this restaurant several times. I would strongly suggest you AVOID at least during Seattle restaurant week. When we arrived with reservations for 7:30 PM there were four parties who also had reservations all waiting. We waited 45 minutes beyond our reservation time but several other parties were waiting for over an hour to be seated and I heard two tables then complain it took over an hour after they ordered for their food to arrive. The waiter explained they have some new people in the kitchen and have had some changeover. The maître d’ basically said sorry, Nothing I can do and it was surprising that he did not offer anybody a snack or a drink either while they waited or afterwards. This was on a Sunday night no less. The food is OK but nothing special and there are now many other great Italian options in Seattle. In addition the price for a salad pasta and dessert off the regular menu is only three or four dollars more than the Seattle restaurant week price so hardly a bargain. I think the waitstaff did the best he could and were somewhat embarrassed by the situation. The restaurant that has been around this long really should have a better handle on how to manage reservations and perform adequate service recovery.

Our experience there was terrible. Firstly, as soon as we walked in the entrance was very hectic and staff non inviting. The noise level was concerning but we acclimated to it recognizing it was very busy.
We proceeded to order a bottle of wine which the waiter explained was not in stock. Since we had viewed the menu ahead of time my wife(we were celebrating her 60th birthday that very night), she was excited to order the ravioli. Come to find out that too was not available. She was disappointed but understands things happen so politely changed her order, I wasn’t so forgiving since it was only 730pm at night, quite early to run out of items!
We then were served the appetizer promptly but waited one hour for our entree. I finally had had enough and asked to speak to the manager. Although not rude he had absolutely no affect. He didn’t seem to care one way or the other.
In the end the meal finally came and although mine was tasty my wife reluntactly told me later hers was bland.
I must point out our waiter was very sweet, quite young and had to shrug his shoulders a lot. He felt badly but unfortunately could only work with the tools he was given that evening.

We appreciated the waiter giving us a heads up that the kitchen was a little behind and it may take longer than usual to get our food. We ordered off the Seattle Restaurant Week menu but also a few appetizers off the regular menu. Food was great - one thing though, our salmon had different veggies accompanying it than what was on the SRW menu online. It wasn't the greatest but the salmon itself was cooked perfectly, and the rest of our dishes were delicious. They also kept the bread and butter coming so that made up for the food arriving slowly.

We went to Il Bistro for a date night. The restaurant was a bit hectic (due to restaurant week, I assume), so there was no one to greet us upon entry and when someone did come up they made it feel less than inviting. With being busy, we were told the kitchen was behind, and we were fine to wait. However, our drinks we were left to sit waiting on someone to come take drink orders and it took us over 2 hours from entry to asking for the bill. The upside was the food was spot on and the craft cocktails were delicious.

Our dining experience at Il Bistro was outstanding in most ways. In part this was due to the restaurant accommodating a large group, headed by a colleague of mine, who brought several Italian opera singers. Their short performances made the evening magical. The only item I graded low was the service. This is not a criticism of the wait staff, who were very professional, but the fact that the kitchen was very slow in getting our meals out. Besides this one sour note, I highly recommend this restaurant.

We came to celebrate my daughter's birthday and were so glad we chose il Bistro! The food was amazing, the Sommelier gave us a wonderful Italian wine recommendation (we ordered 2 bottles!), and service was top notch! The Torta Gianduia (chocolate torte) was to die for! Highly recommend this restaurant to Foodies! We will be back!

I read a few reviews that the table service wasn’t particularly good, but we had an altogether different experience with caring wait staff and a knowledgeable and fun head waiter. Fabulous food and tiramisu to die for. Highly recommended for dinner before the theater - the waiter even advised us to get a move on for the curtain!

We have had wonderful diners here over many years. This last dinner was a total disappointment.
Two of us had the special. We paid for dinners we couldn't eat. The salt box seemed to have been emptied over each plate.
We really should have sent them back to the kitchen.
