Delightful, service was great, food excellent, nice ambience
Front desk guy was awesome, we had outdoor reservations but offered a seat inside, even got one by the window so we could have the outside vibes. He was very polite and the waiter that served us was awesome all night.
Sautéed calamari and bread with balsamic vinaigrette were quite good. Really good flavor and heat without being spicy. Fun dish.
Kitchen was backed up, we waited close to an hour for our entre. Waiter was the saving grace for this getting us a free drink (and covering our desert).
Steak had good flavor, but was INCREDIBLY tough... I mean my jaw was sore by the end of it. For 50 dollars I expected MUCH more. Though, the potatoes and asparagus with this entre were great. Potatoes mixed with the bone marrow butter could have been a main dish in itself.
The free desert & coffee that the waiter hooked us up with was DELICIOUS. Honestly, that tiramisu was to die for.
Atmosphere was perfect with the dim lights and lit candle. We loved that. But it was very loud. Couple groups were unreasonably noisy, I found myself yelling at my date, who was all of 2 feet in front of me.
All-in-all fun experience for what I considered "entry level fancy dining" but for $150 I feel like we could have done a lot better.
The food was good. The halibut pasta dinner that I got was good but the pasta had a more robust flavor than the halibut and I couldn't taste the halibut when eating them together. The clam pasta had too much lemon flavor and we couldn't taste the clams as much. Service was good at first and then we were forgotten about. The Manhattan tasted like an old fashioned.
Always one of my favorite spots. I like to try new places but still keep coming back to this one.
Great place, great help, great experience.
Food was superb. Service was perfect. Ambiance delightful. Flawless experience.
This was the first restaurant we ate in when we came to Seattle. We loved it so much that now it is our restaurant here.
It was a lovely experience from start to finish!
Drinks were tasty and heavy handed. Food was flavorful and large portions. Server was on point. Would go back if we lived in Seattle.
Outstanding evening. Great meal, perfect ambiance, Wine Director Hamid Majdi is the benchmark for all Wine Stewards and food servers.
Good food and service EXCEPT that food took a long time to come out. We were going to a show and had to take some of the food to go. Waiter comp'd our wine but it was kind of stressful. Think it's important to mention ahead of time if you're on a time schedule.
Food was spicy and not that great. I would not recommend this restaurant to friends or family. Ambience not that great either.
We discovered Il Bistro at some point in the 1990's when we lived in Seattle. We've moved to Friday Harbor but still make it a point to dine at Il Bistro when we're in Seattle. High standards for decades!
Get away weekend… great food… fun people… server Nick was awesome!!!
Great Italian seafood and dishes. Live music. Excellent cocktails. Good service. Overall a good hidden gem.
Small, romantic spot. Great for date night. Outdoor seating is super cool.
This review is strictly on food. The pizza looks and taste like it’s from Little Caesars. The shrimp appetizer tasted pretty fishy. The chicken parmigiana looks like it was made from Costco frozen chicken breast. The pasta you could have a better taste experience eating canned spaghetti-o. Definitely not worth the prices. $33 for chicken parm that’s clearly frozen? I don’t think so!
I will say the ambience is very pretty. The staff was standard nice, nothing special. But overall, I would highly NOT recommend this place.
Both the food and the service were great, I would highly recommend.
Nice restaurant. Very good food and drinks. Attentive waitstaff
If you don’t mind waiting and waiting and waiting you’ll like it. Food smells great but marginal at best. Waited 25m for our bill and missed our cab.
Food was very good but they seemed stretched on service. Didn’t ask if we wanted coffee or dessert, just slapped the bill on the table. Manager apologized but the “experience” was ruined.
Awesome waiter! Restaurant was in a neat area with a great atmosphere.
Life time Seattleite and first time at Il Bistro. Our party of four loved the food, our waiter was prompt and gave excellent recommendations. We all ordered something different and all gave five stars. We will definitely come back!
Very happy with the service and food. Great chicken parm!
Just a bit noisy.
This used to be our favorite restaurant when we lived in Seattle. Had not been there for probably 23 years since moving to Bellevue. Very fun to go with our college age kids after an afternoon at the seattle art museum. Great good, location, service, atmosphere.
Excellent food; service was a little slow like most places these days, but they were attentive and communicative, so we didn't mind. Lovely restaurant.
Great food! Awesome Italian wine selection! Perfect night out!
Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable both for food and places to go out. I tried a new drink that he suggested and I really liked it. It was our first time in the city so we asked what he thought we should do. He gave plenty of suggestions and really honed in what we like to do.
We loved the ambiance, we had a wonderful server, and we were especially appreciative that they don't use any plastic straws. Our meal was great! The best was the wild boar pappardelle pasta - it was a special so I don't know if you'll get it, but their pasta is fresh, tastes homemade and their sauce is amazing. Salads were great and the gelato was well worth it!
Loved our server and service was top notch.
Service was extremely slow..food was uneven and not very good relative to the price...saffron risotto barely tasted of saffron...chicken ravioli was bitter...
Lasagna was just ok....wrong bill was bought to the table...overall a poor experience
We shared the lamb burger and the romaine salad with salami and cherry tomatoes. The bread they serve is divine. It was a very nice dinner, we sat in the bar at a table. The staff was very nice.
The environment was very nice but the food didn’t live up to my expectations. The greatest disappointment was that the waiter never asked how I liked my meal. I would have been honest, but I let it go since he didn’t ask. I had the linguine clams, thinking it’d be great in Seattle, but the clams were gritty and the pasta was salty. My fiancé enjoyed his lasagna, however, and I enjoyed my wine.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had! Highly recommend the calamari appetizer.
Best service we’ve had since March 2020! Thank you!
The shrimp risotto was a big pile of soggy rice with four medium, tasteless shrimp on top. Nothing else in it. Totally inedible, for $27. Outdoor dining area needs a major renovation. I can’t believe this place gets good reviews. Service was very good though.
The food was amazing! Service phenomenal…however we waited over 2 hours for our main course. Definitely think this is related to Covid and difficulty getting staff. Bottom line - not a 5 star experience. However i believe not during a pandemic wind down it would be!
We had a great experience for my wife's birthday. Ambiance, great food and presentation, and service. Watch out for the sneaky 3% service charge they tack on the end and explain it with a flimsy excuse. It cheapened the whole experience. I hope the owners read this because I'm sure others feel the same.
We failed to discuss dinner plans in advance upon our arrival. After sightseeing and showering there were very limited options available. We used open table to book. The overall ambience of the basement was nice, lighting dark. It was really loud. The place was warm and pizza was not available due to the heat. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir that really warm. Service was attentive but the kitchen was a bit backed up. My husband ordered the rigatoni bolognese which was good. I ordered the halibut that was just over. The truffle butter was good, the vegetable was on point but the gnocchi was over and crunchy. It was still pretty hot out so we shared the gelato. Overall an eh experience. I wanted to like it— it seemed to have potential to be really good. We have already researched and booked our meal out for Monday. Live and learn.
