So delicious, the wit staff was nice and the lighting in the restaurant is nice and subdued. Went for valentines day and had a delicious vegetarian lasagna. They also have GREAT wine selection.
Great V day dinner. Love this place. We were bummed on the fixed menu for V day, but it exceeded our expectations by far. Glad it was fixed.
Valentines Day at IL Bistro was an amazing experience. All the dishes were superb and the overall atmosphere of the restaurants was just right for a good date night. I will always remember this place as it helped me ask my girlfriend out on Valentines Day. Thank you to the staff for all the hard work staying open during COVID. I will definitely be back again!
First visit and won't be our last. Outstanding service, terrific ambiance and location. overall a great experience.
Yet another wonderful meal at Il Bistro. The valentines menu was excellent and the service was impeccable. We will always try to eat here when we are in the downtown area.
The restaurant wasn’t open!! Got all dressed up NYE walked to the pike place market and the restaurant wasn’t even open!! I canceled all other reservations for this one
This restaurant was closed. We made a reservation, showed up and the whole place was dark. We called and it went to voicemail.
Il Bistro is a cozy intimate restaurant with incredible food and service. My boyfriend and I each did the Seattle Restaurant Week menu and did the suggested 3-course wine pairing and it was so delicious. Highly recommend! Great date night spot.
The host and our server were both absolutely awesome. We had a lovely table that was very distanced from others and made me feel comfortable being inside (vs outside). The food was delicious. Overall, a fantastic experience.
Ambience. The warm low lighting, romantic seating, and classy music sold me on this restaurant the moment I walked in. Perfect for any sophisticated night out, and right near so many other Pike Place attractions too! Our waiter was attentive, funny and very helpful. Have to mention the pastas - you can taste the handmade authenticity in every bite. If looking for a dairy free option, the rigatoni is amazing - most flavorful red sauce ever! All in all will definitely come again.
Horrible service
Unsanitary servers
Long dirty hair not tied back
Inaccurate menu
Rude “manager”
Untrained waitstaff= BAD place for special occasion
Servers sitting on the ground smoking outside front door
Our table left unattended several times (empty glasses!)
Oddly placed tables (most)
Sadly this place has gone downhill. New ownership/management needed or it will soon be finished.
Lovely experience. Noise level was a negative factor.
Excellent service in an intimate Seattle classic, and the best lasagna I've had (don't tell my mom!)
this restaurant was amazing, will go back when in town, tina are server was the best.
We went there for my daughters birthday. My daughter had the steak, which was excellent, I had the mushroom ravioli which was good, and my boyfriend had the chicken and risotto which was just fair. The waitress knew it was her birthday, and didn’t offer her a free dessert, like most places do. We also brought all her gifts to the restaurant for her to open.
il Bistro is a Seattle classic. Always consistently good food and service and the ambience of the restaurant - soft lighting, intimate, white table cloths, and professional servers is great. If you want to have a romantic dinner with your date or partner, this has been the perfect dining experience for many years in the city.
Very nice calm environment comfortable atmosphere. Staff goes above and beyond would recommend to travelers.
A very, very solid option. Some of the best anti pasto I've had in a while. The shrimp and salad were awesome. The bolognese was great and my lasagna was good as well but had some burned areas. Drinks were very reasonable. Would go back.
We had the good fortune of celebrating my son's birthday at the Il Bistro outside patio seating (for COVID) on a beautiful Friday evening. Excellent food and service--it was a meal and a memory.
Such a bad experience!!
We ordered lasagna and it took them more than 40 minutes to cook it. We ordered tiramisu and and something similar happened. The waitress was rude and she said it was our fault because we ordered lasagna... really? We will NEVER go back to this place.
Service was great but food wasn't as good as I hoped, especially compared to the cost.
We ate the in bar, and the bartender was fantastic - I told him I like Gin and he just kept brining me different options that matched up with what I was eating at each course very well. Bad for them he's leaving to join the military. The food was fantastic - the Bolognese and Lasagna were favorites.
Great food and service! One of the best restaurants in Seattle!
We had our anniversary dinner here. The ambiance was incredible. The food more so. My husband had the lasagna. He said it was the best he has EVER had. I’ve been here many times. It never disappoints.
This is our new go to place in the market area.
My date was gluten intolerant, the server had the kitchen prepare a dish not on the menu, special just for her. Great customer service!
We had a wonderful dinner at Il Bistro. We were practically the only ones there, as the Covid virus kept everyone at home. The staff were cheerful and helpful. However, they didn't have much else to do!
My friend and I shared several dishes; for some reason, I always find the appetizers most attractive. We had three appetizers and one entree between us. There was a fair amount left over.
Il Bistro has been one of my favorite Seattle restaurants for many many years. I am delighted to report that the quality has not declined.
Magical evening dining under the big Pike Place Market sign, looking up Pike street to the east! Wait staff was very attentive and quickly let us know the special - and fact only 1 porketta was remaining (which we wanted). Also appreciated the use of QR scan codes to access the menus touch-free.
Every time I visit San Diego we return to il Bistro and always find it amazing! Even with the Covid 19 mess we felt safe and a bit of normalcy! Great job
Excellent fresh pasta - would definitely eat here again!
Great location, welcoming greeting, seating, ambiance, wine and food. Overall IL Bistro is a nice place. Service sucked! The waitress acted like she didn’t want to be there.
It’s been a while since we’ve been but food wasn’t that great this time. Calamari was terrible and chicken was dry.
The menu has changed substantially from what is listed here and on their website. What we got was delicious but the choices were pretty limited. We ended up sitting inside which is pretty dark. Good food and we had a delightful dinner.
We sat outside which was very nice and reminded us of being in Europe. Our first time in a restaurant in 6 months when we used to go twice a week, so it was a big night for us and Il Bistro did not disappoint. The road nearby (
1st) was a bit loud which was the reason for the 4 stars on ambience, but everything else was perfect.
Outstanding service and a wonderful meal. The server offered an excellent recommendation for the wine to accompany the dinner. Certainly worthy of a return visit.
We always love dinner downtown and this was no exception! Our table was ready timely, service was prompt and not assuming and the food was excellent. The location cannot be beat and the people watching is superb! Can’t wait to return.
If you are looking for over priced, less then average food with a death metal style ambience and constantly getting badgered by the homeless, then this is the spot for you.
Let me explain. I picked the restaurant because it looked like a wonderful spot to take my wife for a nice romantic dinner while in Seattle. Couldn’t have been more disappointed. The service was “good-ish” and the food was mediocre at best. The weather was nice, so we chose outside seating which turned out to be a HUGE mistake. We were seated at a table next to some of the kitchen staff. They were loud and every other word was the “f” word...seriously, every other word. Shortly after we were seated, a street performer set up down the street a bit (100ft away), cranked up his amp and started playing death metal style music. It was so loud that I couldn’t hear my wife talking to me from across the table. It did however drowned out the loud swearing conversation from the kitchen staff table, which was good I guess 🤷♂️. My biggest issue was that management/staff allowed a never ending conveyor belt of homeless people to harass our table (and other people’s tables) to beg for money, cigarettes or whatever we were willing to give up.
All-in-all it was a bad experience.
What a wonderful restaurant! Romantic ambience, amazing food and service. It's our favorite place for a special evening.
I really enjoy this restaurant. I got the lasagna which is always huge and excellent. Great flavor. My companion got a great steak. Cooked perfectly. I love their atmosphere. It’s a great place.
Very good food! A little pricey but you're also paying for the experience. Service was great, my only petty criticism was the country music playing in the background. I feel like it'd be nicer to play jazz or something more appropriate for an Italian restaurant. Highly recommend.
Our first night out since the partial opening and it was so wonderful to spend it at Il Bistro. As always, the service and food was excellent. The menu was limited, which was to be expected. Every precaution towards health and safety was very obviously there, and incredibly reassuring. This is our favorite spot in the city and, as always, it did not disappoint!
