Outstanding experience, food was great and the ambiance is perfect for a date
Excellent service, ambiance très agréable.
Resto extraordinaire. Valeur exceptionnelle qualité-prix.
Bravo au chef ténor.
Great experience. Will go back many more times for great food and beautiful singing by chef owner Davide!
My wife and I were very disappointed with the food. The service was ok, but the music was weird and too loud, the dishes didn't really get picked up quickly enough and the price was way too expensive for what we got (not in terms of quantity, but quality). We had the menu dégustation and there were way too many pasta dishes. We were really looking forward to trying this neighbourhood italian restaurant, but unfortunately, we won't be recommending this place to friends.
This is a GEM in Little Italy. A quirky spot with eclectic decor, friendly staff and DELICIOUS food. The price point is very reasonable, especially if you take the 5 course table d'hôte. The portions are REAL portion sized, which is sadly rare in higher end restaurants. I love a restaurant that gives you both delicious food and enough food to fill you up! On top of all that, if you go on a weekday, the head chef sings opera while cooking in the open concept kitchen. It makes for a beautiful evening.
The service was lovely, the food was delicious, the pricing was just right, and the portions were very generous.
The reason this restaurant doesn't get 5 stars from me is for something I find extremely important when choosing a restaurant: AMBIANCE. Honestly, the lack of ambiance in this place made me swear I wouldn't go back.
1 - It was extremely cold in the restaurant, so most of the patrons were wearing their jackets inside. They had spot heaters plugged in to try to warm the place up but it wasn't doing much. Also, the pipes were frozen so the bathroom sink didn't work - no one could wash their hands! I can understand that we live in Canada, it gets cold, but at least warn people before they come in!! Or offer some kind of compensation...
2 - The lighting made me feel like I was in a cafeteria. Consider lowering the lighting a little bit, it's much too bright.
3 - There was no music, so I felt like I could hear everyone's conversations around me.
4 - I know it's a BYOB, but they seriously need to invest in proper wine glasses... I don't want my wine served in a chalice the size of my head while my date has his in a tiny champagne glass.
Il Bazzali has lots of potential, but this particular experience was disappointing for me.
Great food!!So fresh and inventive. simple decor and very friendly, caring atmosphere. wait staff was very attentive.
The owner visited every table throughout the evening. That was very special. He's a lovely fellow.
We were there on a Sunday, So they had the tasting menu. The food was amazing. The only issue was that there is sometimes a significant weight between courses. But overall I would definitely go back.
Loved the meal and dessert! No corkage fee is something I never knew existed at a restaurant before. Service was excellent, I swear every piece of the decor, plates, furniture, etc. was unique, we saw very few “sets”. They were undergoing minir renovations but it didn’t impact our evening really, highly suggested.
J'y suis allée avec ma maman et ma soeur, nous avons toutes aimé la nourriture et le service. Il faisait froid par contre avec les rénovations, ce serait le seul bémol.
the meat replacing the veal that was on the menu was with plenty of lard.
Listen to him sing. Great. All the ladies were taking videos of the handsome opera singing chef. I wonder why ;-)
Excellent place - no wonder it is always full.
Get your local wine from the place next door.
Amazing food! Charming singer/ chef!!! Highly recommended
Wonderful, warm ambiance, opera sung by the chef and fabulous food and service- loved it!
Excellent food but very long waiting time and very noisy. Light music would change the ambience
Amazing food, excellent service! At last, a BYOB with great italian food, some with a french twist! Cannot wait to visit on a night when Mr Bazzali sings opera!!!
I love the food and the ambiance....warm, cozy, nice selection of food, & great that it's BYOB makes it more affordable......thanks for singing opera Davide....you are a great multi-tasker......
The food is good, the live musinc is very nice. Just be careful if you go on Sunday evening there is only the option of Table D'hôte for 45$ (Not 40$) and you cannot go for the normal menue.
It was a perfect evening. Wonderful food, great service and the piece de resistance is Davide. We will be back for sure!
Booked ahead for my son's birthday. Our server originally offered us a table at the back by the coats closet, but it is so small it should really be a table for two. I asked for a better table near the entrance door and we were very comfortable there. The ambience is very nice; a bit busy on a Saturday night, so if you are looking for a very quiet meal, keep that in mind. But the vibe was awesome. Eclectic decor wherever you looked, with a very impressive and unique sampling of original wooden accents throughout the restaurant. The service was awesome. The food was is why you need to visit. Flavorful, fresh, and nicely prepared. Very authentic Italian flavors. The only concern I might share is that I felt my son's portion of mushroom risotto was too small compared to our generous meals of handmade ravioli. He is a tall lad, so we all shared with him one of our outstanding ravioli's. Bringing our own wine was a nice option, as there is an SAC just up the street. NOTE: the singing chef or owner is only there Monday to Thursday, so if you come other days don't expect someone to belt out Italian arias from the kitchen. But overall our experience was very memorable and would highly recommend a meal here. You won't be disappointed, or have to remorgage your home. Two Thumbs up.
The cook is also a tenor singing Italian classics behind the counter. Spent a great evening.
excellent - super ambiance - nourriture sensationnelle
The food is simply amazing. The Sunday 12 course menu is over the top, and very reasonably priced. Bringing your own wine also keeps the cost down. I would recommend this fabulous place to anyone. A true hidden gem!
Très bonne bouffe!
Seul hic? Très bruyant ...
