III Forks - Jacksonville Ratings and Reviews
We had a group of 9 and overall the feedback from them was that they enjoyed their meal. I felt the sides were a bit small; I was glad I ordered 2 each. My own meal was disappointing. I ordered the bone-in ribeye and it lacked flavor. It was cooked the way I ordered but for $58 I should expect a very flavorful steak. Service was very good.
Our experience was very disappointing after 3 previous visits. Our ‘2nd’ server was excellent and 2 of 3 meals ok. One steak was not even close to ordered doneness. Our hope was for an outstanding experience as per our previous experiences. Very long waits for initial service/drinks. Very unorganized management tonight. If it wasn’t for the fact that we were happy with visiting with our group the experience would have been very frustrating based on expectations built from previous visits. Pricing is commensurate with previous experiences - not tonight’s. Hard to recommend without an asterisk....but......
Had a Christmas dinner for my staff. Seated a group of 12 at a table against a wall on one side and with a post on the other. The waiters had to walk around three other tables to get to the people on each end. I told the manager the location was going to be a problem and he told me he had to use every inch he had and there were no other options. They got $1400 from me but they'll never get any more.
My second visit and it did not disappoint! Took my family for my husbands birthday. Staff was attentive, seated us at the reserved time and answered our questions on food preparation. Great cocktails and an extensive wine list. He thoroughly enjoyed his meal.
We celebrated wedding anniversary with family members celebrating theirs as well. The food was well prepared and very tasty. The ambiance of the dining room was very nice and comfortable. We had cocktails while waiting on our dinner companions. The bartender was friendly and courteous. Our waiter was a little pushy. He wanted to open a bottle of wine that we ordered before we had finished our cocktails. He also seemed preoccupied with another party and was not as attentive as we would have liked. Other than that it was a great experience and I would recommend III Forks.
Usually a lovely restaurant, we were VERY disappointed with the “Thanksgiving Feast”. Portions were minuscule: two small slices of turkey and a heaping tablespoon each of dressing and potatoes and, believe it or not, exactly TWO cranberries with a few drops of sauce on my plate! There was a nice selection of vegetables, but they were tasteless and variously under- or over-cooked. Adding insult to injury, III Forks had the highest-priced T’giving menu in the area :-( NOT RECOMMENDED for a holiday dinner 😡😡
Also suggest they enforce a minimal dress code for holidays!!
We were expecting more. We were there on Thanksgiving. Got sat by entrance to kitchen in a booth. Terrible table. Should not be a table there. Waiters tended to congregate there. Too much chatting. Food was good, servers attentive, almost too much. Too chatty. Brought us wrong food, had to ask me if they brought my salad already, lacked ambiance. Waitress reaked of cigarette smoke. 3 people bill with tip was about 185.00. Just not impressed.
Went here for a business dinner. Everything was fantastic! Food, service, ambiance....loved it! I'll be back on my own/with my partner. The place is beautiful and the food, drinks, etc. couldn't have been better. I had the tenderloin salad which was very inexpensive relative to the other dishes but plentiful (I couldn't even finish it) and DELICIOIUS!
The 45 day aged ribeye was really good but if you have a green egg and pay attention to meat temps not worth the price. The bread was delicious before the meal and my wife’s pork chop was very good also. The three forks salad was very good and the Caesar salad was pretty good. The service was great my water glass was never less than half full and the staff was very helpful. A lady came in with a perfume on that nearly choked my wife to death so I quietly asked the waiter if it would be a problem to move to a different table and they happily moved us. Over all a great experience and if I would not have gotten one of the most expensive steaks on the menue probably would have given it a 5 star all the way around.
The service was very good I sat down at 640pm and ordered a medium rare stake with French fries and my food came out 50 Min later and the steak was cold. Very bad kitchen service there was definitely something wrong the table next to me complained of waiting close to 1 hour for their meal and the restaurant was not busy.
AMAZING!!! Food was great. Drinks were great. Ambience was great. Went for Anniversary dinner with my wife and I️ couldn’t be more satisfied. Everyone was nice and congratulated us on our anniversary. Even brought out dessert on the house. Did I mention the food was amazing? It’s expensive but definitely worth it.
This is a beautifully designed restaurant, one of the nicest in Jacksonville. The positives of dining here, apart from the design are: 1) immediate seating with our request for a quiet table taken seriously (it was pure enjoyment to talk and listen on a Saturday evening without straining); 2) a highly professional staff, including reservations staff, the waitstaff, and the valet; all were a pleasure to interact with; 3) nice presentations of the side dishes, which were delicious; & 4) well-maintained restrooms, which is not always the case these days even in restaurants as expensive as III Forks. The major disappointment is the entree value. Three of us had filet mignons (two of us had the 6 oz; one had the 8 oz), which was not prime meat but charged as though it was. These small filets were served on huge plates without any accompanying accoutrements, all of which were extra. The filet presentation was not artful or was the taste of the filet a "smacking good" one. On the other hand, one member of our party had the grouper with risotto and found it perfect. Despite the disappointment, we would return because of the positives but not order the steak. There are other menu items less costly than a 6 or 8 oz filet mignon, which are certainly worth trying in a restaurant with a really pleasing ambience.
