III Forks - Houston Ratings and Reviews
Valentines Day dinner for two
Steak was basically raw
Dirty plates left on the table long after we were done with them
Lobster bisque was room temperature
Salad was missing ingredients
We had to refill our own wine glasses. For $200 dinner for two I expect the waiter to refill glasses.
I ordered a side and they ran out of it so I had to make a substitute
Not even close to worth the money to eat here
Food and service were very good. The drink the waiter recommended as fruity ended up being way too strong and they substituted for wine at no cost. Being V-day, they had us and several couples in the upstairs area, which definitely seemed a bit void of the normal high end restaurant ambiance and more like the overflow area. Food was excellent, but sitting in the upstairs was not great.
Food was okay and the issue it had they compensated for but not that fantastic when you get the best that it have some problems but maybe hard to tell before it is cooked. Price level is okay. The waiter maybe a little too attentive and pushing too much in the beginning not giving us time enough to find our likenings.
We had a very nice dinner here in spite of a huge conference in town. I would like to go back some time and experience the restaurant at a quieter time. Our server, Sherrie (?), worked really hard to make up for the crazy busy atmosphere and she would be a big reason for the 5 star service!

This was a very disappointing restaurant experience. The waiter provided very little service. I’ve received more and better service at a self serve establishment. The food was not cooked or served as ordered. The manager was very apologetic and tried very hard to make amends but it’s hard to recapture an experience of celebration after
A failure. My party had to eat at separate times because food had to be returned.
This restaurant carries the name III Forks but is no where close to the food, decor and
ambience that I’ve come to expect from the Ii Forks brand.
Ordered the 8 oz. Filet medium, unfortunately it came out rare to medium rare and I had to send it back to cook some more. When it came back out it was slightly closer to the temperature I ordered originally. The sides were very good (cream corn and six cheese potatoes). Overall I would recommend this place anyone looking for a quiet, elegant meal.
This was my first visit and it wont be my last. Was late making reservations for an early opera dinner so wasn't able to go to my regular place. So glad as I love III Forks. Its my new favorite Downtown/George R Brown are restaurant. I sat at the bar and received 5 star service. I like my filet cooked Pittsburgh Rare. Not all steakhouses know how to do this well. III Forks does. My steak was perfect compliments by incredible sauteed/fried Brussels sprouts. Perfect taste...not too much salt or soy sauce like some places. Loved it and will be back the next time Im in Houston for the Opera.
Beautiful restaurant, great service and delicious food. They went above and beyond for our anniversary. They came to our table and took a photo and returned with a card signed by all the staff and a print out of the photo. They also brought out a huge slice of chocolate cake to help celebrate. We were thrilled with our experience there. Thank you!
Such a nice location and atmosphere. The service was good but the quality of food was pretty disappointing. We were going to go to Vic & Anthony's and decided to try III Forks instead. The lobster Mac & Cheese was over cooked and dry...it should have been creamy but it was not.
The filet was seasoned well but a med rare steak should have a little juice to it...it was dry as well. I love a good steak and this just didn't make the cut.
Hubby & I went for a last minute date night on a Thursday night. It was kinda dead inside. Waiter seemed a lil nervous. Maybe he was new. You could tell he was trying hard to be an upscale waiter and he did a fantastic job being attentive, answering our questions and making sure we had everything we needed.
Hubby had the Scallop w/Bacon Jam appetizer and he said it was delish! Best scallops he said he’s ever had. III Forks salad says it has nuts but I had to search for tiny nut crumbs & salad wasn’t dressed enough. Kinda disappointed with their “signature salad”. Hubby had Lobster Bisque & I had French Onion soup, and both were outstanding! We cleaned the bowls! Split the 22oz Ribeye and it was great. Waiter sliced it at our table. Perfectly cooked! For sides we had Six Cheese Potatoes (good), Onion Rings app (good) & Lobster Mac-n-Cheese (pasta was under cooked & too much crump topping so we didn’t enjoy it). We shared the Texas Pecan Cake for dessert. Huge but I wished it was a lil sweeter.
Great meal. Reasonably priced (except you have to pay $10 for valet parking, not cool). If you find yourself in the downtown Houston area give it a try.
Seated immediately upon walking into the restaurant. Service on point. Thanks Ernesto! And the food, oh the food. Filet mignon cooked to perfection, as was my boyfriend's pork chop. The surprise cake and shots at the end of the meal for my birthday, capped off a delightful dining experience. We will definitely be back!
We were greeted immediately by the hostess and seated at the table of our choice. The food was delicious. We tried the Waygu beef and it was excellent and perfectly prepared to order. Our waiter Brian is friendly and attentive. I would recommend III Forks as a fine dining experience for a date or business meal.
We selected this restaurant based on its location in downtown Houston and that it is a special treat. We were hosting our family pre-Christmas dinner since we were not going to be together for the hoiday.
Out table was ready when our party arrived although we came separately and the initial party got their drink order in, it took a few minutes for the waiter to swing back by to get the final orders. He seemed like a really nice guy, but it was one of those situations where he was trying to be our buddy rather than just a great server. I'm not sure how else to describe it. It took quite a while for the second order of drinks to come and they came separately. He explained that there was a large corporate party going on upstairs and that the bar was behind. The final glass was just champagne - not something that had to be made. Very odd.
After we eventually got our drinks delivered and dinner ordered, it seemed to go more smoothly. Our salads, steaks and sides were spot on - just what we expected for the price we were paying.
Went for a coworker Christmas lunch. We all had the work day lunch - very reasonable - $30 for a soup or salad and entree. We all had the corn chowder and 2 had the wagyu sirloin steak and I️ had the salmon - all were delicious. Also added a side of six cheese potatoes - nice and gooey! For dessert we shared the Texas Pecan cake and it sure was Texas sized and amazing! Definitely recommend.
Pricey and upscale
This restaurant has plenty of ambiance and style. I was a bit shocked at the price of entrees but the food was absolutely delicious. Their scallop appetiser was the best I’ve ever tasted. However, the steaks started around $40 and quickly went up from there. I selected a prime ribeye and it was so tender you could cut it with a fork. Can’t imagine what the pricier cuts were like. Safe this restaurant for that very special occasion.
We heard great things about this restaurant. It left a bit to be desired. Might have been just an off night. The crabcake appetizer was room temperature. We had onion rings, lobster mac and cheese and the creamed corn for our sides. None were hot and the onion rings-which had a great presentation, were greasy. The steaks all had great flavor and were cooked as we ordered, but took it took over 40 minutes from the time the appetizers were served until our food came. Like I said, it was probably just an off night.
I took my boyfriend here for his birthday, and he absolutely loved it. This was my third visit to III Forks and his first. Our filet mignon was served to perfection, the service was impeccable, and the food was rich but not overbearing. The only slight annoyance this visit was being seated pretty close to another couple that was rather loud. She kept nagging about her job, and complained about every little thing (rather loudly), and griped about how much everything cost while we were trying to have a pleasant, quiet dinner.
The food was good but the service was not good! We had a group of 10 and the restaurant was not busy but had to ask for hot water, spoons, honey for tea which five people order over 10 times. The restaurant called me and asked about our visit. I told them the food was good but not the service. They said thank you and hung up the phone. Wow no I am sorry, now what happen. I guess they don't want our business.
