Wanted to try somewhere new in a very well supplied steak places like Houston. It did not disappoint, got there in time for happy hour cocktails (excellent dry martinis), a great bar and lively (for a Monday) but not overly noisy or busy bar area. Wait staff are engaged, helpful, authentically friendly, and down to earth (no feigned stuffiness here). The menu is not overly confusing, a limited set of standards, and I like that. Settled for the standard filet mignon, my feeling is that if you cant get that right, being a thicker cut, you really don't understand cooking steak. It was as close to perfect as you could want. Excellent sides, and an impressive wine list, the house red was thoroughly acceptable. Our server introduced his trainee (a nice touch). All in all, a very enjoyable evening.
Went to III Forks for our 33 wedding anniversary...Great 22 oz Ribeye and they made a special Creamed Spinach side order for us...My wife and I enjoyed it and the service was over the top!
Service and good outstanding.
Wonderful dining experience. Best Brussel Sprouts I have ever had and of course steak is excellent. Skipped desert for cappuccino instead.
Went with some fellow conference attenders and it was a great meal. A little pricier than we thought originally, but the food was delicious.
Overall 2 stars. Meals were good, not great or worth the price.
Ordered the lunch special. The Caesar salad was just ok and the salmon dish was mediocre at best. For a business lunch spot, I would recommend improving the quality.
Steak, bread, drinks, three cheese potatoes and Texas Pecan Cake = 5 stars.
Service = 5 stars.
Creamed Corn off the Cob? No. Canned corn more like it. = 1
We are repeat guests, we will go again I am sure, but we won't be ordering the corn.
The service is almost too good, including table-side service of the side dishes. The steaks are excellent, of course, but the sides really make the meal. Try the creamed corn, it's addictive. The enormous pecan cake was also a surprise (big enough for 2 or 3 people). We love this place, and it's convenient for a show Downtown.
The food and setting was awesome for a date and we were made very welcome. I would definitely go again in the future. My only slight negativity was from the too frequent interruptions from the waiting staff, however, they were just trying their best to make us feel welcome and ensure we were enjoying
Bryan was our waiter and he made our date absolutely amazing!
Service was spot on. The food was excellent. Highly recommend this establishment
Great steak and excellent service!
Valentines Day dinner for two
Steak was basically raw
Dirty plates left on the table long after we were done with them
Lobster bisque was room temperature
Salad was missing ingredients
We had to refill our own wine glasses. For $200 dinner for two I expect the waiter to refill glasses.
I ordered a side and they ran out of it so I had to make a substitute
Not even close to worth the money to eat here
III Forks never disappoints. The service is excellent and the food is great. Cliff is the best.
The chief 0was amazing. The staff, the service, and the food everything was absolutely wonderful!
Everything was great
Food and service were very good. The drink the waiter recommended as fruity ended up being way too strong and they substituted for wine at no cost. Being V-day, they had us and several couples in the upstairs area, which definitely seemed a bit void of the normal high end restaurant ambiance and more like the overflow area. Food was excellent, but sitting in the upstairs was not great.
Wonderful experience and extremely professional staff. Didn't have a connection with valet parking people but overall it still turned out nice. Would definitely dine here again whenever I have deep pockets.
Food was okay and the issue it had they compensated for but not that fantastic when you get the best that it have some problems but maybe hard to tell before it is cooked. Price level is okay. The waiter maybe a little too attentive and pushing too much in the beginning not giving us time enough to find our likenings.
We had a very nice dinner here in spite of a huge conference in town. I would like to go back some time and experience the restaurant at a quieter time. Our server, Sherrie (?), worked really hard to make up for the crazy busy atmosphere and she would be a big reason for the 5 star service!

This was a very disappointing restaurant experience. The waiter provided very little service. I’ve received more and better service at a self serve establishment. The food was not cooked or served as ordered. The manager was very apologetic and tried very hard to make amends but it’s hard to recapture an experience of celebration after
A failure. My party had to eat at separate times because food had to be returned.
This restaurant carries the name III Forks but is no where close to the food, decor and
ambience that I’ve come to expect from the Ii Forks brand.
Great food and awesome service!! We were in for a concert and celebrating a friends birthday. What a great dinner experience. We will be visiting the one in Chicago next.
Ordered the 8 oz. Filet medium, unfortunately it came out rare to medium rare and I had to send it back to cook some more. When it came back out it was slightly closer to the temperature I ordered originally. The sides were very good (cream corn and six cheese potatoes). Overall I would recommend this place anyone looking for a quiet, elegant meal.
Food was terrible, service was good. Will not return.
All was well but for the delay in getting seated
Très bon steakhouse au centre ville, point à améliorer:
Steak waguy ne devrait pas être assaisonné d’épices salées; cela masque le goût d’une viande pure...
Tout le reste est très bien!
This was my first visit and it wont be my last. Was late making reservations for an early opera dinner so wasn't able to go to my regular place. So glad as I love III Forks. Its my new favorite Downtown/George R Brown are restaurant. I sat at the bar and received 5 star service. I like my filet cooked Pittsburgh Rare. Not all steakhouses know how to do this well. III Forks does. My steak was perfect compliments by incredible sauteed/fried Brussels sprouts. Perfect taste...not too much salt or soy sauce like some places. Loved it and will be back the next time Im in Houston for the Opera.
The food was excellent and the waitress did an outstanding job! All in all, a great evening.
Unexpectedly loud for what seemed like a great date night place. Acoustics are horrible - could hear the conversations from groups 6 tables away. Food was ok. Steak was salty and overdone - and over priced for what it was. Service was good.
Did not like where we were seated in the area to the back right that connects to the bar area. It feels odd and out of place. Bartender was great, but the table service was meh. Definitely not above and beyond. The food was good, but not great.
Thomas, our server, was attentive, polite and helpful at all phases of our meal. There were 7 of us for a business dinner from all parts of the country and the consensus was excellent all around.
Beautiful restaurant, great service and delicious food. They went above and beyond for our anniversary. They came to our table and took a photo and returned with a card signed by all the staff and a print out of the photo. They also brought out a huge slice of chocolate cake to help celebrate. We were thrilled with our experience there. Thank you!
Such a nice location and atmosphere. The service was good but the quality of food was pretty disappointing. We were going to go to Vic & Anthony's and decided to try III Forks instead. The lobster Mac & Cheese was over cooked and dry...it should have been creamy but it was not.
The filet was seasoned well but a med rare steak should have a little juice to it...it was dry as well. I love a good steak and this just didn't make the cut.
Hubby & I went for a last minute date night on a Thursday night. It was kinda dead inside. Waiter seemed a lil nervous. Maybe he was new. You could tell he was trying hard to be an upscale waiter and he did a fantastic job being attentive, answering our questions and making sure we had everything we needed.
Hubby had the Scallop w/Bacon Jam appetizer and he said it was delish! Best scallops he said he’s ever had. III Forks salad says it has nuts but I had to search for tiny nut crumbs & salad wasn’t dressed enough. Kinda disappointed with their “signature salad”. Hubby had Lobster Bisque & I had French Onion soup, and both were outstanding! We cleaned the bowls! Split the 22oz Ribeye and it was great. Waiter sliced it at our table. Perfectly cooked! For sides we had Six Cheese Potatoes (good), Onion Rings app (good) & Lobster Mac-n-Cheese (pasta was under cooked & too much crump topping so we didn’t enjoy it). We shared the Texas Pecan Cake for dessert. Huge but I wished it was a lil sweeter.
Great meal. Reasonably priced (except you have to pay $10 for valet parking, not cool). If you find yourself in the downtown Houston area give it a try.
Seated immediately upon walking into the restaurant. Service on point. Thanks Ernesto! And the food, oh the food. Filet mignon cooked to perfection, as was my boyfriend's pork chop. The surprise cake and shots at the end of the meal for my birthday, capped off a delightful dining experience. We will definitely be back!
Service was okay. My biggest complaint was the table was not kept clean. We had to ask several times for them to remove used plates and glasses. Never did bring my salad I ordered.
