III Forks - Hallandale Ratings and Reviews
Went to their LAX restaurant last year and thought it was excellent and hoped it would be the same here. Got our table right away; no waiting, but there was no one truly in restaurant at 6pm. The wait staff was very nice and attentive and professional. In the end, for the $$, it was not a great value and I have no problem paying higher prices for excellent food, ambiance and service. Unfortunately, I wished I walked into the across the street to the Yard House pub and knew I was not getting equivalent food quality but the food and liquor/beer was going to be at more than 1/2 the cost I paid at III Forks. I'll give it another try, but no time soon.
We had a great meal! My husband thought his filet was the best he has ever had! We had wonderful service! Our waitress and assisting staff were awesome! We have been here for dinner a few times and have never been disappointed. It just keeps getting better and better. We highly recommend III forks to all our friends!
I was not impressed. I had a 7 30pm reservation. They had me stand in the middle of the restaurant as they tidied up a table. The service from the kitchen took a very long time. 3 hours to eat 4 courses. On top of that the food was not hot. As if it was left out. Our only kudos was for our lovely server. I want to maybe give it another try, but to spend that kind of money for that overall service again.
When for Thanksgiving dinner. When we got there on time for our reservation was told they didn't have a table. We had to wait approximately 20 minutes be seated. We were told that they had overbooked the place.
After we were seated the service was painfully slow with the long delays between courses. This despite being in a prefix menu. It took us almost 3 hours to complete the meal. And yes, we were tempted to walk out about halfway through.
The food was okay. Nothing special. There're much better restaurants nearby. As a steak place this would not be my preferred choice. This place is not competitive with places like Chops lobster bar or even Ruth Chris's.
My final advice, caveat emptor, you've been warned.
When living in Austin, TX, we would go to Three Forks. Always excellent. We moved to Aventura, FL., and began going to Three Forks here. Time and time again we felt it was going downhill. But Thanksgiving did it! Service was terrible! It took a long time before we could order drinks. Then a long time before they took our dining order. From there, long waiting time for the soups, which were cold. Long waiting time for the salad. Worst of all, a 35-minute wait for the main course. Note that they were serving a prix fixe menu only, so it’s not that they had to prepare tens of different plates. The waiter kind of apologized by saying that this was their busiest day of the year. No excuse, in my mind. If they accept reservations for 50, they should be prepared to properly serve 50. If they take reservations for 100, they should be prepared to properly serve 100. They did not. We heard similar complaints from other guests. And food was not that good either. I believe they lost a good number of clientele that day. Us for sure. We will not be returning there!
Service was excellent. Food was not so great. Salad and dessert were good. Main course, turkey dinner was not very good. Turkey was was dry, beans over cooked, mashed potatoes pasty and stuffing was dry. Extra gravy did not help. Disappointing, we have had better meals at this establishment.
We had a great experience! Everyone's food was delicious, the wine was good and the service was excellent! We were very happy and will definitely go back. We had the short ribs, salmon caeser salad and crab cake appetizer as well as the III forks salad. We loved everything!
For a high end steakhouse, very disappointing. Service was poor, lack of attention by the waiter throughout the meal. Steak was to be med-well, came out rare so my wife's meal was done piecemeal while steak was recooked. Not what we expected for a restaurant that competes with Ruth's Chris, Mortons, Capital grill. Not even close. Spend your money elsewhere.
We went for our anniversary while visiting from Boston . We had Kristen for our server and she was amazing , very knowledgeable and the sweetest server! The food was AMAZING. The lllforks salad was something I will crave for a loong time, the scallops were cooked perfectly and had the most amazing flavor. I would come back in a heartbeat!! 5stars all the way around !
We dined here about a year ago and were pleasantly surprised the food was great the service was incredible. Last night was a different experience we arrived for our 8pm reservation and we were seated quickly. Our server Kevin was very nice but the service was slow we ordered our appetizers and they arrived 40 minutes later and our meal arrived at 9:15 o told them when I made my reservation we were celebrating my birthday and that was not even acknowledged. The food was very good so that made up somewhat for the terrible service.
It took us a little bit over 3 hours for a 3 course meal. I was very annoyed that we were treated differently because of our Groupon. We received lemons on napkins instead of plates. I told both waiter that wasn't presentable. I seen people who order their food after we placed our order, meals arrived before us. I understand different food takes different length of time to cook but a salad... over an hour and then the wrong salad was brought over. By the end of the night I was ready to go. I wasn't hungry anymore. I requested for my meal to be packed. I asked for the check and that took a long time. I guess it would have been better service if we didn't have a Groupon. I just figured with two waiters we should have not waited that long especially since it wasn't a pack night. It was one of my best friend birthday.
Service left a lot to be desired. We were not the only couple left waiting on our food. There was enough staff-kitchen should just move quicker or wait staff should know and explain how long food takes so that the service is seamless.
Food tasted good. Lamb Meatballs are super delicious. 8oz with sauce was amazing. Mojito's were amazing. Wait staff was friendly.
Internet service is non- existence. Both my phones would not connect.
Overall ok experience.
The food was just average, especially considering the prices. My husband enjoyed the filet, but my chicken was very bland, and I did not enjoy the flavor of the mashed potatoes. (I had planned to order scallops, until I learned that they prepare them absolutely raw in the middle because they would rubbery otherwise.)
We had the repeated experience of the waitress being somewhat pushy about getting us to order more expensive items. (She was pleasant enough - I am sure these are the instructions she is given). The Summer Special that was advertised on the internet was not on the menus we were given, nor was it mentioned prior to our requesting it. When my husband ordered the 6 ounce filet, he was advised it would shrink, and told he might want to order a larger filet.
We decided to order the chocolate cake to take with us, and were very disappointed later when we ate it to find that it seemed very dry to the point of being stale.
There are many other restaurants in the area with better food at a better value.
Finally, I received an email from Open Table the next day, advising that I had not shown up for my reservation!
I don't understand why my mash potatoes that are paired with the lamb I ordered from the menu was served on another's plate whose sides were are all à la cart. My lamb was served as a rack and not sliced. Other than the unsightly presentation and mixup with my order, I was happy with everything else.
