I have had better for less.
Food was really disappointing, we were rushed to leave even though our food arrived when we had to leave, so they gave us another 30 min to eat... Also the minimum per person was outrageous!
Go for the experience but do not expect much. The food was not great, our waiter and other staff members had attitudes but it was a nice setup and something we hadn’t experienced. Be prepared for them not to split checks.
Not enough bang for the buck. The atmosphere was nice but the customer service was blah.
We love it..
We had a great time getting our daughters together in a safe outdoor environment.
Took my fiancé here for his 30th birthday. Our waiter was so rude. We felt rushed the entire dinner. We asked for sprite and received seltzer water. We were very quick putting our order in but for some reason it took over a hour for food to come out. Our waiter never gave us updates on what was going but when I asked to put our dessert order in while we were waiting for food he looked at his watch and asked if we wanted it to go because our reservation was over in 30 minutes. When asked what was taking so long he said the steaks take time to cook. My fiancé ordered a well done steak and received medium well. We spoke to a manager who offered to cook his steak more only to bring out the same medium well steak. She only took his meal off of the bill even though our entire party had to wait over an hour for food. It’s a beautiful set up but the service is horrible!!!!!
It was a neat experience. I am not sure i would go again, as the food was fair and rather and expensive. The service was great and the company was fun!
Extremely rude server and the food was terrible.
We loved the Igloo experience at Unscripted! Our food came out quick and fresh and our drinks were amazing! There was a speaker and heater also included which made everything so perfect!
This was such a great experience for our special event. The $300 minimum spend made sense, especially given the unique venue and the concierge feel of the server. She was fantastic. The igloo had a Sonos speaker to connect your phone music and the space was warm, in the middle of cold season, so dress in layers and be prepared to go coatless. Bring sunglasses during daylight hours or may be too bright.
SUPER TIME. GREAT FOOD
WE HAD OUR OWN PRIVATE BLUETOOTH SPEAKER. WONDERFUL!!
You just have to remember you are there for the ambiance. ☺️
Great concept! Must do!
Igloos were not warm enough even with the provision of a heater/fireplace. Other patrons music can overshadow if you don't turn up your own decibels which is not conducive for conversation. Minimum food and beverage is outrageous for a party of two ($300). Considering a party of 6 has the same Minimum. Food was ok. Nothing to rave about the scallops were pretty good. Overall nice experience just overpriced for a small party of 2.
We were not impressed with the food at all. The only thing we did like were the oysters which were raw and required no preparation. We had the shrimp appetizer (breading was too thick, more like a corn dog), the gyoza (bland, ), potato croquettes (bland), for mains I had the squid ink pasta which was over cooked (mushy pasta) And the sauce wasn’t appetizing. My gf ordered the stew which had a processed tomato sauce taste that we didn’t care for. Additionally there was no mention of the $50 service fee on the website in the small print.
the drinks were really good and our server Tyler was awesome the setting and concept is cool but for the $300+ price tag we were highly disappointed with the food.
Food was delicious and it was great to have a safe place for our pod to get together for drinks.
We had a blast!!!! Food was delightful...drinks were amazing. Server “Matt” was the absolute best!!!! The fact that you have your own Bluetooth speaker means you can set your own tone for your experience. It was worth every penny. The hotel (motel) exterior was not fancy at all but the igloo was A++++.....highly recommend. Would have probably been even more fun at night when things are lit up.
Amazing! My in-laws were visiting and it was the highlight of the trip. Would do again and recommend to anyone for a special occasion. Our server Matt was excellent!
These igloos are amazing for COVID dining with your family or quarantine “pod”! Your private group will be safe and the ambience is amazing! The food is not spectacular, but good enough. The “heater” in the igloo is barely warm, so bring coats and hats! Overall a great experience, especially for a special occasion.
Excellence of the food was surpassed only by the service. Amazing experience and definitely worth every penny.
It was a neat experience, however, the service was SLOW. The food was extremely slow to arrive, as well as our drinks. I’m not sure if it’s because 18%gratuity was automatically included in the bill, or what the issue was, as it wasn’t crowded when we were there. The views are nice. The food is okay.
I enjoyed my birthday dinner! The food, to me, could definitely improve but the ambiance, having full control over our music selection, and great drinks made up for it. I’d def return...might eat before going though.
Amazing service! Loved the food and drinks and made for a great 21st birthday dinner! Watched them clean everything before we went into the igloo, too!
Over all the experience is something that I am glad I now have but I would never recommend this to anyone nor will I be dining again. The food was subpar and not very flavorful, the drinks took a while to get to us which they comped and we are thankful for that. The cookie and cake were not very flavorful and were dry. The s'mores dessert was the best! We went with the intention of spending right around the $200 minimum which we were told was the price we had to spend when we book in November, when we arrived we were told that the minimum was $280 which we were not anticipating since the website said $200. The waitress even told us the website was confusing and the change in price should have been communicated. We were allotted 2 hours which was great and we did not feel rushed however in our last 20 minutes we were told we had to spend $70 to hit the minimum, so we decided to get a bottle of wine to go and plan another date night around that more expensive bottle. We deiced on the $78 Pino Noir. After we left we looked the bottle up in case we ever wanted it again and the bottle is only worth $25 which is a CRAZY mark up and not worth it. Our waitress, Tyler, was very sweet and did an excellent job. When we got our bill at the end of night we were looking over the "service fee" which was the tip and it automatically added a 20% tip which would not have been an issue if the website had not said it would have added an 18% , again something we just would have liked to know. Overall the experience could have been better, the food was way overpriced, the drinks were excellent but we will not be returning or recommending this to anyone. We were very disappointed and felt it was a waste of time and money.
We had a wonderful time!! Our waiter, Matt, was amazing, he was very polite and knew what he was doing. The atmosphere and food was awesome, look forward to coming back!!
The staff was very accommodating from the moment we walked in. Definitely a great experience in a time of social distancing. A+ staff
This place is a gem in regards to ambience, a vibe, having your own music in the Igloo, etc. As far as the food, it was mediocre as well as the service. I asked for the Filet and they were out. I ended up with the braised short rub that lacked seasoning. I asked the server for salt and asparagus multiple times before I actually got the salt. The asparagus, she informed me that she never brought it out because they were out. I was just wondering when she was going to tell me that. Also, the servers could do a better job of keeping the igloo shut while taking your order especially with the low temps this winter.
Really expensive for the food that was on the menu.
The igloo itself is amazing! Unfortunately, the service was quite slow, which became difficult to navigate under a 2 hour time limit and a minimum spending requirement. Several of the dishes we ordered were also cold.
Very good service! We were even a little late to our reservation and they still had our igloo and let us stay later since we were the last reservation for that one. Food was good but appetizers are very tiny. There were 4 of us... not huge eaters and we ordered every appetizer they had and between the 4 of us, we ate all of them.. like cleaned the plates and still needed to order meals for each of us. Drinks were super cute and loved how each drink had their own special type of glass and style.
Everything was so nice clean the DJ was good and the food was amazing!!
The 300 minimum is steep. Luckily I made my reservation before thankgiving for my date in January, and our food and drink minimum was 200. A few things: my igloo was not warm and toasty as promised. One of the zippers were broken and we couldn't be moved to another igloo for safety reasons. The food was eh. My dish had to sent back because it was undercooked. When you are told you have a 300 dollar minimum, you expect to see dishes on the menu that would help you reach that. We ordered 4 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 deserts, and 4 drinks and was still under our 200 total by 60 bucks (would have been 160 had we been forced to do the 300 minimum). Normally, I would love the decently priced food that was under 20 bucks a dish, but NOT when you have a food/bev minimum. We were encouraged to order 4 more entrees or 8 deserts or 3 bottles of wine.. You can see where this got ridiculous. If you want a cute pic for instagram, there are way better, more cost effective, and delicious locations in the Triangle.
It was a great experience but definitely overpriced. I expected more of a presentation on the drinks and meals. However, I understand that the igloo was what we paid for! Also, 2 hours for $300+ 20% included tip is not enough time. Definitely wish it was 3 hours.
The igloos are such a special treat for the area! From comfortable couches to a heater and even a bluetooth speaker, they thought of it all!
For food, you have to try the gyoza and croquettes they are both delicious.
Our server, Matt, was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. He made us feel like royalty.
The only down side would be the cider drink they advertise as a "pitcher", it comes out in a tiny thermos and definitely not worth the $44 price tag.
Everything about this was Amazing!!! We can’t wait to go back.. please continue offering as long as you can
Celebrated a Birthday here and the whole party had a great time! The only con was having 9 people in one igloo and having to eat on our laps; it was a tad crowded in there. Other than that, the food, service, price, ambiance, and scenery were superb. I hope they have similar safe event options in the spring and summer, and being the igloos back next year. We ordered the crab cakes, potato croquettes, gyoza, pasta, burger, and fries. The Frose drink was the absolute best; everyone had one (some two) of those. If you get a chance, book!
We loved our meal at the Igloo. The food is really quite good, the drinks superb, and the service friendly and professional. The igloos are quite warm, even on a cold winter day. Our only issue was that we were informed about one per person minimum when we booked, and then told something completely different upon arrival. An $80 p/p minimum is outrageous, especially with two underage non-drinkers, but we managed to work something out with the staff.
super fun!! the only thing I don’t like is that it’s only 2 hours, you spend so much
Our waitress Tamryn was soooo great!!! She was friendly and helpful and gave us plenty suggestions. The crab cake was amazing and so was the guacamole. I would make more reservations but you’re all booked up. Glad I was able to enjoy the Igloos at Unscripted Durham. It was a moment to remember with friends.
