It was a great experience but definitely overpriced. I expected more of a presentation on the drinks and meals. However, I understand that the igloo was what we paid for! Also, 2 hours for $300+ 20% included tip is not enough time. Definitely wish it was 3 hours.
The igloos are such a special treat for the area! From comfortable couches to a heater and even a bluetooth speaker, they thought of it all!
For food, you have to try the gyoza and croquettes they are both delicious.
Our server, Matt, was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. He made us feel like royalty.
The only down side would be the cider drink they advertise as a "pitcher", it comes out in a tiny thermos and definitely not worth the $44 price tag.
Everything about this was Amazing!!! We can’t wait to go back.. please continue offering as long as you can
Celebrated a Birthday here and the whole party had a great time! The only con was having 9 people in one igloo and having to eat on our laps; it was a tad crowded in there. Other than that, the food, service, price, ambiance, and scenery were superb. I hope they have similar safe event options in the spring and summer, and being the igloos back next year. We ordered the crab cakes, potato croquettes, gyoza, pasta, burger, and fries. The Frose drink was the absolute best; everyone had one (some two) of those. If you get a chance, book!
We loved our meal at the Igloo. The food is really quite good, the drinks superb, and the service friendly and professional. The igloos are quite warm, even on a cold winter day. Our only issue was that we were informed about one per person minimum when we booked, and then told something completely different upon arrival. An $80 p/p minimum is outrageous, especially with two underage non-drinkers, but we managed to work something out with the staff.
super fun!! the only thing I don’t like is that it’s only 2 hours, you spend so much
Our waitress Tamryn was soooo great!!! She was friendly and helpful and gave us plenty suggestions. The crab cake was amazing and so was the guacamole. I would make more reservations but you’re all booked up. Glad I was able to enjoy the Igloos at Unscripted Durham. It was a moment to remember with friends.
We went the day after Christmas and unfortunately it was really cold that night. It could have been warmer in the igloo but I understand it was unusually cold. I got the bacon wrapped chicken and it came raw. The bacon wasn’t even cooked. That was disappointing.!! But the cocktails were delicious! Would be willing to try it again. Hopefully they work out the kinks
It seemed like a good idea. However, it was cold and wet (igloo duh). I appreciate the servers working on Christmas but the hot drinks and food were only slightly warm. $350 for 4 people, was too much.
We had an incredible time and the chef when above and beyond to accommodate my kids gluten free diet. Beautiful ambiance. It was a magical night for our family.
I wanted so much to love this, but it was just OK. The ambiance is amazing and they did a great job with the set up. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t great and the cocktail I had was also not the best. They have nice speakers inside the igloos so that you can play your own music, but after multiple attempts with our server and manager to get it working, it never worked which was disappointing. They have open tables and heat lamps so I would recommend skipping the igloo steep fees and just going for table/heat lamp!
The server was very nice, but we were 4 people and were told after we made a rez and showed up that it was a $350 min order. Might want to point out in an obvious way on the website?? Also, the igloo was freezing- heater couldn't keep up. So we paid $350 for a cold igloo ans some takout wine!
Service was the best part..
Excellent food, excellent service and a overall great experience
Amazing experience ! I can’t wait to return again. Our server, Matt was awesome.
We loved the igloos! A very unique idea using outside space, providing a warm venue & being socially distanced from others! Our server, Tamara, was awesome!! She was attentive, very personable, & did not make us feel rushed. Great experience!
Very cool experience with my family for my sister’s birthday. They even had “snow fall” and sparklers when my sister showed up! We were set up in our own little igloo with our own speaker to play whatever music we wanted. We had high top tables and I saw other igloos with couches (pros and cons for both). On a Sunday night, it was a $200 min and between 6 people we easily reached it while having a great night.
We celebrated a birthday and our experience far exceeded our expectations. Our service was great and the igloo was so cozy. We loved that we could play our own music and control our own heater. There were plenty of menu choices for everyone in our party, including picky kids. Highly recommend!
LOVE IT!!!! BEST EXPERIENCE. HAVE ALREADY SCHEUDLE TO GO OUT AGAIN.
Loved it!! Felt safe and comfy for a 40th bday celebration!
Loved the igloo experience
The pop up igloo experience was so magical! We loved the way our igloo was decorated and the little heater and Bluetooth speaker was a huge plus. The food and service were very good as well. We had a great time, it definitely had us feeling the holiday spirit!
Wonderful way to celebrate any occasion.
The videos and pictures you see online are true to life. A great experience and everything went well. Would love to see more variety on the menu. But, the options there all tasted great and warm drink options were a good idea as well. Definitely a fun experience where I could have spent many more hours enjoying the atmosphere.
Loved the whole experience. The food was very good - much better than I was expecting. The DJ was a little loud which made conversations even in the igloo hard.
Way too hot during day. Felt like a sauna. No shade in direct sun. Not enough food on menu. Waitress barely came over and would forget drinks.
Really lots of fun and good food
Well worth the experience. The food was delicious and it was a very unique experience.
Great atmosphere... great time... can't wait to go again... family of 8 fits comfortably 😁
We booked this for something different to do with our parents because they have been going stir crazy during the pandemic, but we still need to be very cautious with going out. The whole evening was amazing! Though we only had four people in our group, there was space for larger families in our igloo. We have been talking about this to everyone for days now!
My party of 6 spent well over the minimum requirements and we still had a $90 service fee on our bill. The food options were minimal and were enough to feed a 10 year old at best. The ambiance was great, the food I would give a 1. Normally unscripted has decent food but not anymore I guess. We left after our 2 hour time slot to eat elsewhere because we were still hungry. The $600 spent was a waste of our money.
Overall such a GREAT experience! I would definitely recommend telling your guests beforehand that the price they pay =the tab. We were unaware that the $50 a person was our tab for the night. We thought all the drinks/food were extra, so we were quite frugal in the beginning. We were told with 45 minutes left that we were only halfway through our minimum. No email was received stating this, and no one explained this upon arrival. But aside from not knowing that, we had SO MUCH FUN!!!!! Thank you!!!
This is an absolutely amazing experience! Unscripted has turned their roof into a festive winter wonderland, complete with twinkly Christmas trees, cozy igloos, colorful light orbs in the pool, and even snow! The food and beverages were delicious, the menu much more diverse, and the servers were friendly!
Great venue with social distancing protocols in place. Beautiful holiday decorations and very festive feel! Blue tooth speakers provided so we areable to play our own music from out playlist!
Staff very warm and welcoming. Food was OK but could have been better - loved the DIY smores dessert tray! Igloo came equipped with a heater, but we did not need it - our reservation was at Noon and the sun was shining bright. It was quite warm - we were sweating inside the igloo - unfortunately the staff only had one working fan available and it was in use by guests in another igloo. Still overall an enjoyable and fun experience and would recommend Igloos at Unscripted to everyone.
Here’s what you really need to know:
I was able to snag a reservation after compulsively checking open table. Tiktok has def made reservations scarce!
I went in a group of 4, our igloo could hold 8 I believe. Making a reservation for 5 wasn’t an option and I couldn’t get thru to anyone after making it to see if adding 1 would be possible. Once we were seated in our igloo and noticed we had extra space we called our friend and had him meet us there. That was no problem!
The igloo was perfect temp! Heater + Sonos speaker if you want to play your own music instead of listening to the DJ. Oh and the fake snow really did it for me.
The food was okay, nothing special to come back for. Most of our dishes were room temp when they arrived.
Service was a tiny bit slow through the night so just order as much at once as possible to avoid any delays.
Our time was up so they offered us to extend an hour for $125. We did. Our tab was $600 ( 5 people ) all of us ate, shared apps, and had plenty to drink! ( 2 bottles of wine, 3-4 rounds of shots, 4-6 rounds of mixed drinks) all for $600!! I think the spending liMits are a bit confusing for some but it does towards the bill so it’s just what you need to spend if that makes sense!
Waiter was great, food service was slow.
It was an awesome unique experience. Very energetic vibe.
I was so excited to do this but left so disappointed. I am on crutches and even though I had a reservation they had me stand there for 5 minutes so a server could light sparklers to walk us to our table. So unnecessary. The table was available immediately.
Our party of 4 had to spend a minimum of $300 in only 2 hours, at which point we were rushed and forced to leave. Our entrées were only brought out 2-3 minutes before the cutoff time. The food is not high enough quality to have a $300 minimum - we got 8 appetizers, 3 entrées, 10 drinks, and 2 desserts and only got to $304. Not a good experience at all.
Ambience was pretty to look at but they had a DJ playing party music that kinda ruined it. Should've been festive music to match the decor. So much wasted potential here with this idea.
The rooftop igloos were really cool and very nice. Pretty decor. Took to long to get drinks (30min). However, food and drinks were very good! We had a great time and will definitely be back.
