Hi, I am writing to encourage individuals to not go to Para Maria. We dined there 6/26/25 as a party of 8. The food was terrible. The fish of the day was very dry and we had to add multiple lemons to be able to eat it; it was also very bland and lacked flavor. The birria empanadas did not taste like birria; the empanada crust was very thick; meat lacked flavor; and birria sauce didn’t taste like birria. We were celebrating a special family reunion which I put in the notes when I made the reservation on Open Table. No one acknowledged our reunion or made us feel special. I even told our waitress and she said nothing. The worst part is that our waitress dropped silverware as she was clearing the table. It went to my back. Only by the grace of God, the knife landed horizontal. Otherwise, the knife could have landed vertically and stabbed me. I ate here once several years ago and it was great. This time was terrible and the last time. Please go elsewhere!

Overpriced. Slow service. Had the burger it was good the serving size was way too large. Cocktails were tiny and more expensive than the food items.

This is a great Cuban restaurant. They have taken Cuban food and refined it and added unexpected delicious ways of preparation. I love Cuban food and this restaurant is preparing deliciously. It is also on a pedestrian only street it has a sophisticated casual European feel. Go. You will be pleased.

Guac was excellent. Vegetable paella was mostly plain white rice with charred veggies on top. Plantains were forgotten on the arroz con pollo. Appetizers were served after the main dishes came out. The manager ultimately took over our service and comped some of our meal to try to make it right.

We came here because we saw the restaurant had great reviews. We sat and waited for the waitress to come to our table for almost 20 minutes, after which we almost never saw the waitress again - the restaurant was not busy so this was unacceptable. Note to management: people are paying to dine here, respect the customer and treat them as if you want them to return.

Found a hair in my Caesar salad two bites in. They were quick to remake and very apologetic. Staff is very kind and attentive. My friend loved her shrimp tacos and she found them very filling. Chicken was dry and lukewarm.
