This is a hidden gem behind Whole Foods on Route 7. Food is excellent, service is attentive and helpful, and a nice quiet atmosphere. I have restarted going in person but delivery during heights of COVID was good, too. Flounder Francaise is perfectly prepared; side vegetables are also. Highly recommend the Caesar salad with house made dressing and croutons.

My absolute favorite restaurant!!! Another fabulous meal. The rack of lamb was to die for, but I got the equally impressive seafood linguine. One of the best things for me is having leftovers the next day!

I only take the time to write a review when a restaurant goes above and beyond. What an incredible surprise! This unassuming gem impressed us over and over again throughout our three hour dinner last night. We are discriminating diners but love trying new places.

The service was outstanding from the moment we walked in. They treated us like royalty with big welcoming smiles from every member of the staff. We received excellent wine recommendations and the bottles were actually priced reasonably.

All three of us ate family style, sharing each dish. Every single bite was a revelation... "Oh, THIS is how this dish is supposed to taste." Even compared to some of the nicest restaurants in DC, this place takes the cake. I honestly can't express the delight and surprise we experienced as each new dish came out.

We will DEFINITELY be coming back. It's our new favorite restaurant in the DMV area. Bring your friends! Especially anyone who calls themself a foodie. They will love it and you'll be their new hero. :-)

The Idylwood Grills durable reputation for reliable excellence is validated each time my wife and I, our close friends and (now with increasing frequency) our professional colleagues, local and international, dine there.

Any customer who is open to fully enjoying a great dining experience will come away with the thought that this is right place to dine when celebrating important personal events as it is the right place for quiet romantic dining or for memorably happy get-togthers of old friends.

Not a great experience. The main course arrived while we were still eating our starter. The restaurant seemed in a hurry to get us out. We had a 7.30 booking. By the time we were on our coffee (no dessert) the check arrived and soon after we paid (promptly) the lights started to be turned out. Only one other table was occupied when we arrived and nobody else came in. I guess the staff decided they'd rather be at home! Food was okay.

Starters, entrees, dessert - all were divine in taste and presentation. Menu is quite ample but not vast. Clearly the focus is on ensuring that the choices offered are masterfully prepared. The chef succeeds. The service was attentive, timely, and efficient.

I’ve eaten at this French place about a dozen times and never had a disappointing dish. Yesterday my friend and I split the scrumptious avocado salad, then she had the delicious papardelle beef bourguignon and I had the shrimp fettuccine Primavera. Both were exceptional and generously portioned. We followed up with tiramisu and key lime pie.The total for the two of us? $95. There is just no better deal in the area for French food. I think the only reason this place is not mobbed at all times (other than the pandemic) is that it is in a little strip mall which is tucked behind a Whole Foods shopping center. I almost hate to give it such a high rating because I think it’s kind of a neighborhood secret, But I feel like I owe it to this delightful place.

After 15+ months away from the dining out scene, it was great to return to the Idlylwood Grill. It was a tough go for them to keep their doors open, but they did it, and the same friendly wait staff was still there to great and serve. Other than the increased distance between tables and the presence of masks of the staff and hand sanitizer on the tables, nothing had changed. And that includes the food.

Rack of lamb was tender and perfectly cooked as ordered - medium rare. My companion had salmon that was beautifully presented and apparently delicious, as there was not anyting left on her plate.

Please support this neighborhood gem so they can continue to serve us for years to come!

One of my favorite restaurants, it is in my opinion the "Cheers of Northern Virginia" a warm, inviting place, where they know you and what you like. Many fine dishes on the menu: Duck with Mushroom Risotto, a great Filet with Black Pepper Sauce, Roasted Salmon with Avocado Salsa, and the Branzino -- a Mediterranean Sea Bass -- are my top favorites. The atmosphere is upbeat and lovely, the perfect combo of personal touches, hide-away gem, and Mediterranean flair. Owner Hedi and head waiter Din, are very knowledgeable about food and wine pairing. The overall experience will keep you coming back!

We have enjoyed dinner here for years, but last night's meal was outstsnfing. Two companions had the branzino special and pronounced it delicious. I had a generous crabcake atop spinach and onion ravioli on a bed of vegetables. Superb!! We were all pleased with our experience.

Mother's Day evening: food was great. This is a true neighborhood gem and should be enjoyed by many. I had the risotto with calamari and blackened scallops - very nice. Wife had the Branzino with pasta - delicious. Home made cheesecake really rounded out a very nice evening. Highly recommend this restaurant.
