I ordered the lamb, well seasoned and done correctly. Nice vegies melody and mashers. The best was the German chocolate cake! Yummy!

We keep going back to Idylwood Grill again and again. It is our favorite place with a good quality/price ratio. This time we had the filet mignon, really outstanding!
Thank you!

My husband and I really like this place as the food is excellent and the service is good and the staff friendly. However, the decor and furnishings are in desperate need of a renovation and I say that as a designer who specializes in bar and restaurant design!

We have been to the Idylwood many times and always enjoy it. We took two friends on this outing. Everyone had a different dish and each person proclaimed their dinner to be outstanding. Service was excellent-prompt, courteous, flawless and the noise level is quite low allowing easy conversation. We arrived at 6:30 and stayed a long time in conversation. There was no demand from incoming customers for all of the tables so there was no pressure to leave. A genuinely fine evening. A favorite place.

Excellent choice for lunch. So many wonderful choices on the menu, it was hard to decide which one to choose. I settled on the branzino served on pasta with pesto and a shrimp sauce. It was served piping hot and remained hot. Excellent service in the nice little restaurant tucked away in a strip mall.

Wait staff was great. We asked to be moved to another table because another customer near us was wearing a lot of perfume. They quickly and easily accommodated us. The veal piccata had just the right amount of lemon. The flounder was also very good. We both were excited about the vegetables on our plate since restaurants don’t often include them. My test is always the green beans and they were done to perfection - not to crisp but not mushy. Chocolate mousse cake was very good. I make a mean key lime pie and unfortunately the key lime tart was not as good as mine but nonetheless tasty.
The only thing I would definitely improve would be the salads. They needed to wow me with the first course and then I would have given them 5 stars. I would definitely recommend.

I find people either dig this kind of Italian or they don't. I don't. I like calamari that looks like something from the sea that has a dark brown batter that was deep fried. These were perfect circles in a tan breading that had little flavor. I expected the beef pappardelle to have beef that was tender, flavorful, and sliced easily with a fork.

Very disappointing experience. The food was not well prepared at all. Terrible crab cake, fish special with no taste and yucky risotto. The only dish one of our party had this was edible was the steak, and that was mediocre. You would do much better at getting takeout at Whole Foods one block over.

The ambiance isn't great either - the restaurant is cluttered beyond the point of shabby chic, or even quirky.

We were fooled by good reviews of this place, but will never return as it spoiled what was supposed to be a special family dinner. Don't be fooled too.

My husband and I have had delicious meals at Idylwood Grill for the last 3+ years. We drive 30 minutes to Idylwood Grill and it is one of our Top Two favorite restaurants. Although, this past experience was disappointing. We were a table of 4 and two of us ordered Filet Mignon 'Medium'. My friend's filet was 'well-done' and my filet was 'very medium well'. We both sent back our filets. My friend's second filet was done 'medium' as she requested, but my second filet was done 'medium rare' not 'medium. I did not send this one back. I always order filet mignon at Idylwood and in the past has been cooked perfectly. It's possible there is a new chef. To me, Chef 101 is being able to cook steak accurately. I was disappointed but since this was the only negative experience out of many, I will go back again. If I have a second negative experience, I will likely stop patronizing this restaurant.

The food is exceptional for a local restaurant. Perfectly prepared Cesar and avocado salads. Excellent veal and scallops main courses. Reasonably priced wines by the glass. End it will a nice Irish coffee and you'll have a very enjoyable dinner. It can be noisy when full, but it's a comfortable, friendly noise. We'll go again.

This is a neighborhood gem tucked away in a strip center. The menu was very good with some unusual specials, and good, reasonably priced wine. Make a reservation, because Friday night was quite full. We had calamari, Caesar salads, beef with noodles and lobster tortellini—all were very good. There was also live music playing, which was surprisingly good as well. It’s a definite repeat!

Fantastic! I love their mussels & I order that every chance I get. My daughter was truly stuffed with the lobster ravioli & we shared an avocado salad as well. Although my hubby was sick, it didn’t deter us from having a fabulous post Valentine’s Day dinner.

The Idylwood Grill has never let us down but their fixed price special menu for Valentines Day deserves special mention. First we were impressed by the great variety of selections for each of the three courses. When, after great difficulty, we made our selections, we could not have been happier. Hopefully, some of these special offerings will make an appearance on the regular menu when next we return.

Overall, I really like this place. It does not loo like much from the parking lot but there is a nice atmosphere inside and the food and wine are very good. No exception on the meal that I and 3 dining mates had on Saturday. The beef and lamb was cooked and seasoned well. Steak was requested medium rare and it was right on target. My only complaint about the food is the bread is so so mediocre and almost flavorless. Adding the provided olive oil really doesn't improve it. I know that we don't come for the bread, but I think a different choice (or choices) would really elevate the meal. Service is usually very good and very personal but this night was maybe busier than usual and, although we took our time (since I was meeting with friends we had not seen for a long time and ones who I thought would enjoy their first visit to Idylwood Grill), service felt rushed and almost brusque. Again, going to chalk it up to a busy night for the restaurant which, honestly, I was happy to see! This is a very good dining option that I am hoping is around for many more years.

The restaurant was not very busy. My food was delicious but all three of us stated that everything was too salty. The corn soup, the sauce on the fish & the mushroom ravioli & the chicken. So, although we had a great experience previously, this visit was not wonderful. Also wondered why the bread was toasted and no butter to accompany it.

My poor mother-in-law could hardly eat a thing due to the over salting.

We had not been in a couple years and went twice in the last month. It is really hard now to find individually owned restaurants in the Tyson’s area. This one is so special. The specials offered change frequently. The chef does an amazing job and the food is surprisingly gourmet! The lamb chops were very meaty and perfectly cooked. The Branzino, also cooked to perfection. Very fresh seafood. Nice background lounge music but great place to have a conservation! Make a request for your favorite tune. The musician is very talented and has a great personality. Excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere. Nice to feel your business is appreciated!

The staff went out of their way to accommodate my restless children. My kids are two and three years old. The staff brought them a box of toys to keep them occupied. They also prepared food that wasn't on the menu to suit our party's dietary needs. It was a wonderful experience.
