The new steak dish is really tasty and my friend thought her salmon was incredible.
Oh and the burrata is unforgettable!
Amazing food and friendly, excellent service.
First time out to eat since COVID began. I had been wanting to try Idle Hour since it opened. Food and drinks were amazing - wings and Korean meatballs for an app, burger and gnocchi for meals and an ice cream sandwich to round it out. Recommend saving the gochugan sauce from the meatballs to dip your fries in. We tried five cocktails and all were very good.
Amazing, as always!
Great date night spot, a group or if you want to take a seat the bar by your lonesome - vibe is great for all of the above. Everything is made fresh to order, the staff and owner are super welcoming and always genuinely excited when you walk through the door, their burger and french fries are the BEST, brunch is phenomenal (get the bacon, egg and cheese - you’ll never go back), and drinks are crafted with some serious love every time. Oh - get the wings and ice cream sandwich too. Love this place :)
Excellent. Incredible food and even better staff. Highly recommend.
Just recently discovered this hidden gem in Quincy center. Great vibe and delicious locally sourced food. Sat at the bar and enjoyed a bottle of wine- great value. Bartenders were busy making lots of interesting craft cocktails. Decor is sleek and modern with lots of seating options. Started with tomato, cucumbers and roasted corn salad that had amazing flavor. Crispy Onions and green beans were cooked perfectly and were accented with orange slices- yum! Salmon was cooked perfectly. So excited to find this place. We will be back.
Excellent service, unfortunately the carrots on one of the dishes were grossly undercooked and had to be sent back. The server and the manager handled it well but at that price point the food should be presented properly first time.
I made a reservation so I would have preferred to not have been seated at a high top table. I should have spoken up and I’m sure it wouldn’t have been an issue to switch to a half-booth. I’d just prefer a seat with back support. Food was great, but not sure if the price is warranted. Drinks were great tasting, fair price, took slightly long to arrive after they were ordered but nothing crazy long. Overall good to great experience. We weren’t rushed at all. We felt comfortable taking our time ordering which was great because our party hadn’t seen each other in a while. We would come back.
Great food, Great drinks and Great atmosphere. When my wife and I were making the reservation we saw an area for notes. Thinking that there is no way anyone actually reads these me put "Please have a framed picture of Tony Danza waiting for us at the table." Imagine our surprise when there was in fact a picture of Tony Danza at our table and our host grinning from ear to year prepared with a story of how he chose a Whose the Boss era photo as opposed to a more recent photo. That is great service and certainly made for a memorable experience. We will be back! Maybe Burt Reynolds next time...
This is one of the best restaurants in Quincy. 10/10 would go again
Delicious meal and welcoming staff.
It was *okay* - a little snooty. The bathrooms were very cool. Hostess/server was attentive.
Good menu and beer selection- different meal options that are original and yummy
Meg was outstanding. Promote immediately.
Great place to indulge in creative food and beverages in a relaxing atmosphere
Fried pork chop was worse than a hungry man TV dinner
Idle Hour was great and very accommodating even though we were early for our reservation! We were there for my friend’s birthday and they made the occasion feel special. Highly recommend for any occasion.
Service was incredible, food was delicious, and I loved the clever drink names (and the taste of the one I tried, the Hot Boy Summer). Their thing is Farm to Table and you can definitely tell the food is fresh and well prepared!
Boyfriend and I have been here a number of times, since we're in walking distance, and the food the mozzarella sticks are huge, a fun twist on the usual small, bland with marinara variety. Drinks include something for every taste. Service is always friendly, if sometimes a little slow due to busy-ness. Music is fun, but never overwhelms the conversation, which tends to be boisterous.
Pretty good food but the restaurant is VERY loud and we waited nearly an hour for our food.
Creative dishes, farm to table, fresh ingredients. I would definitely go back. Not a place for picky eaters. Limited menu based on what's available from farms. Creative and delicious drinks as well. Highly recommend!
Everything was great... awesome drinks, delicious food and perfect service. Thank you!
Great food and drinks, music was loud
Great restaurant for food and drinks. However the music selection was not family friendly and was quite loud at times. It almost felt like a night club in Boston towards the end of our meal where we couldn’t even hear each other to continue our conversations.
Idle Hour was a neat experience. My sister and I took my mother who found it a bit loud, which was accurate. It would have been nice if the music was a little lower so that it wouldn't have been so hard talking across the table. We ended up being much earlier than planned and the host graciously figured out a way to seat us early, even though it was pretty busy. Our waitress was on point all night, constantly checking in and bringing us whatever we needed.
The food was really good. We shared food as a table. The carnitas tacos were fantastic as was the gnocchi and the burrata with cornbread. The salad was super fresh and interesting. The grilled squash was just okay and a few of the pieces were charred to the point where they didn't taste good.
Cocktails were nice. A wider variety of beers would be good. Lots of names that weren't familiar so a brief description of the taste would be helpful. Our waitress helped me find one that matched my taste though. Overall we enjoyed the meal and the place. A nice neighborhood find!
Great spot but currently understaffed so patience is required while waiting for service (which was great upon arrival.). Burger normally awesome arrived well done but ordered medium rare. Gnocchi was great, as were fried pickles and salmon tartare.
The food is fantastic, and the service is top notch!
I never had a bad meal at Idle Hour! Every time we go, the food is always fantastic, the team is always so welcoming and the atmosphere is the perfect setting for a fun night out. We sat outside and ordered a few dishes to share - grilled wings, asparagus and the house burger. They are so accommodating with special requests made to the order and even brought some water out for our pup! Definitely will be back again soon!
Our server forgot to place our order. We had to repeatedly ask for things. My food was cold when it arrived.
Love Idle Hour! The food is great and the people are chill. Totally worth the trip to Quincy. Make sure to try the mozzarella sticks!
We recently returned to Idle Hour to see what this week’s menu had it store. It was a treat yet again! The salmon was perfectly cooked and flavorful, as well as the heirloom carrots, I don’t think I’ve ever had carrots that have been worth writing about, but wow. They were excellent! They actually had a double hot dog on the menu, my dining mate had those, and was raving about them! Was happy to see such an eclectic beer list of local beers as well! Can’t wait to go back!
Great overall experience with service staff and the quality and taste of the food - delicious, fresh, and different. Fun and quite loud. Not for outdoor dining.
The staff/bartenders were incredibly welcoming and made the whole experience comfortable and enjoyable. The food and drinks speak for themselves - delicious!
Great ambiance, food and service.
Everything was great! Friendly, accommodating staff who offered great suggestions for food and beverages. While the menu seemed limited, the food we had was outstanding (try the wings). And, though we were on the sidewalk, next to a busy street, we didn't really notice the traffic. I definitely recommend this place.
Service wasn’t the best but the food was good
A hidden neighborhood gem. Creative cocktails, delicious food, and friendly service. What else do you need?
Food and service were amazing. Best breakfast I have had in a long time.
