Ida B's Table
First timer!! Went for a friends Birthday Dinner. Seated quickly. Lag time before our server came to take our orders. However, she was very attentive and patient as my friend and I initially did not our drinks from the bar. She gave us other options and we were pleased. Even more patient when my friend sent back her dinner. Momanager was awesome and came and checked on our table multiple times. Awesome Customer Service!!! Would have liked to have heard live singing - however the band playing instrumental was nice. Will Definitely Come Back!!
Everything about this dinner was perfect! The food and friendly staff bought us back home to East Texas in an environment where everyone is welcome. We went on a quiet Thursday night but we definitely plan to come back on a weekend with the live music. Definitely worth the drive from DC.
From Angel, our server, to the ambiance, the cocktails, and the delicious food, everything was Amazing. We felt right at home. We will be back.
Great service and I love that all the food is local and/or Black-owned.
We had a much anticipated brunch at Ida B's with the family and the would highly recommend it. The service is excellent and it's what you would expect with the caliber of food and beverages served. We will definitely be back because there was just too much to try.
Biscuits and gravy were a perfect starter and so flavorful. Everything is so fresh too, which makes a huge difference. The chicken and waffles were great - the sweet potato waffles were surprisingly mild and just enough sweetness to balance the savory chicken on top. The portions are sizable and we had to take some to go. All of the breakfast options were delicious.
Ida B's Table was exquisite. Staff was amazing, attentive, and knowledgeable. Food was ABSOLUTELY SCRUMPTIOUS!!! Entertainment was a three piece band. They were gifted musicians. The atmosphere was beautiful, and that is an understatement. It was a WHOLE ENTIRE VIBE!!! To top it all off, the titles of the expertly crafted adult beverages were named after my favorite literary geniuses. Do yourself a favor and experience Ida B's.
Excellent food! I would definitely recommend this spot.
Great food, wonderful music, and dynamic environment!
I totally enjoyed Ida B's! The food was superb. The staff was extremely courteous and professional. The music wonderful. My man and I enjoyed everything about the evening.
I’ve been lucky enough to visit Ida’s a handful of times now, and I can honestly say I’ve never had any less than a perfect evening.
On our first visit to Ida B's, we expected to be blown away by the quality of the food, so we were somewhat disappointed. We each got a signature dish, the fried chicken and the fried catfish, along with macaroni and cheese and Liberian greens. Everything was fine but not exceptional, and if anything a little under seasoned. The spicy dipping sauce was a helpful flavor boost. Service and atmosphere were good, but we thought the lunch entrees were pricey.
They do not seat incomplete parties, drinks arrived 15 min apart. Mac and cheese was cold. It was ok soul food. Will not return
Brunch: mini muffins and butter were awesome. Blackened chicken frittata was very good. Not too spicy because I'm not a fan of spicy and large. I could not finish. My husband loved his chicken and waffles and he is hard to please. Def would go back and do brunch and try dinner one day.
The food was nicely cooked but SO sweet. Like everything we ordered had 1 cup of sugar. I ordered the duck and it was practically crunchy candy. The dressing on the salads tasted like melted ice vanilla cream. Also the portions were OK but not great for the money. Maybe because they expect you to fill up on sugar, I don't know.
We had to repeatedly ask for water and at times we still didn't get it. I was overall disappointed and won't be going back.
Ambiance is great. Good for a date night or hanging with the girls. Live jazz musicians add a nice touch.
Loved the atmosphere as soon as I walked in. Food and cocktails delicious. Live jazz but not too loud so we could still talk. Our server Angel was an angel, and the asst manager came by to check in. Can’t wait to go back.
Loved my experience. Food is good and menu is just right
We greatly enjoy the "modern soul food." Brunch offerings today were riffs on a standard fare - e.g., chicken and waffles - but tasted fresh and light.
If we lived in Baltimore, Ida B's would likely be our joint. It is a cool spot that's also family friendly. The service was great, and the food was lovely. The helpings were very generous, even with the sides. We both had food for another meal. We look forward to the next visit.
Awesome atmosphere friendly staff. Bomb food
The food was not that great. It was good but to me seem to be lacking flavor. I excepted more from a chef that won Chopped. The service was certainly not their strong point either. I made a reservation for 2 and an infant, but my brother wanted to join so when I got there I asked for a table for 3. The hostess told us she didn’t have any available tables left because of other reservations and offered us a seats by the bar looking out the window. We agreed but noticed the 2 hours we were there that there were several empty tables that we could have seat at instead of in the bar area with an infant who was by the door with constant traffic.
This was my first time experiencing Ida B’s Table & I have to admit I was thoroughly impressed. I am immediately greeted by a smiling hostess. After being seated at my table, I was then greeted by Ms. Cass, the “Momager”. Her friendly disposition made you feel as if she was expecting you to come home for Sunday dinner. After the warm pleasantries, it is time to order my meal. I selected the Catfish and Waffles. The fish was piping hot and the waffle was full of so much flavor that my tongue was in flavor overdrive! The secret weapon that is fitting for this meal was not the hot honey syrup but instead the Rosemary infused Maple Syrup! The combination of sweet and savory was enough to make anyone want more.
The vibe is chill and the music was loud enough so you could hear it, but low enough for conversation. This made the noise level in the restaurant chatty, but not loud so that you could hear other conversations and be lost in your own.
I will definitely be back again!
Mom’s 81st Birthday Dinner
I was in Baltimore for a conference and asked my cab driver for a restaurant suggestion and this was his pick-a great choice! Our server Angel and the rest of the staff were wonderful . The food was delicious
Delicious food, brilliant service. The food honors the past and shows a way forward for American Soul food
The atmosphere was well designed, the service was excellent and the food and drinks were fantastic!
I really enjoyed the experience that is Ida B’ , the vibe was nice and the hostess was very attentive and nice. My best friend and I dined there Saturday so we got to hear some love music as we talked and ate our meal...will definitely be back
Had a wonderful Valentines Dinner at Ida B's. Loved the creative menu, great ambiance, friendly and attentive wait staff, and live music!
Great atmosphere...highly recommend. Food was great and live band was amazing.
Really, really nice establishment. The Oxtails were absolutely delish. Very tender and extremely tasty.
Awesome One of my favorite places to go. Thank you Ida B.
The seats are way too small, and it doesn't seem like they thought about their demographic when they made the seats. The food was okay....it wasn't worth the price in my opinion, and they kept getting my friends order wrong. The sweet tea, was not great, and had a funny after taste, and I think the decor was modern, but it didn't make me think of the icon Ida B. Wells, even though there were big pics of her, it didn't feel like it captured the essence of her, it was just name after her. I could say more, but I think everyone should try it for themselves. Their experiences may differ from mine. I would not classify it as a Soul food restaurant though, not enough soulful things on the menu.
I recommend Ida B’s my Co workers and friends, it’s a lovely restaurant the interior is Devine. My girlfriend in joyed her self , Great customer service from our waitress and Jazzy music and the historical location and a African American woman figure Ms Ida B’s
Amazing in every way. First and foremost, the food was amazing. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was very unique and fresh. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Excellent overall experience
Go on a Friday or Saturday night for the live music - it’s amazing!! Also, be sure to save room for dessert. The Mississippi Mud Pot de Creme and Brown Sugar Pie are to die for.
Great atmosphere, great food, great service and wonderful live jazz. Will definitely be returning.
Great food in a friendly atmosphere
As always wonderful service and delicious food.
Loved it. Food was inventive and delicious. Vibe was awesome. Servers were helpful, attentive and truly happy to be working there. It was great.
