No better quality sushi in San Francisco than here. Clint always makes sure we’re well taken care of.
The food and ambiance are outstanding! Highly recommend.
Great service. Amazing food. Small but intimate space. Will definitely come back
Delicious and interesting - great food and great staff!
Elegantly prepared, super fresh fish with unique condiment touches. Space is cozy and lively. Service is fantastic and there is a lovely selection of sake (including a Flight option.) Highly recommened.
Ichi has been one of my favorites in the neighborhood, but it seems like the sparkle is gone from the restaurant. Our dinner took way too long and the omakase felt uninspired at best.
Consistently excellent. Don't miss the seasonal specials from Japan!
Ichi Sushi has changed the way I eat sushi. The quality of the fish is so good, I am willing to try things that I wouldn't normally eat.
The service is friendly and knowledgeable, the music is always great and it has a wonderful neighborhood vibe. We always meet interesting people at the sushi bar too!
Great food. Service is something that needs huge improvement. Friendly = good.
Stunning food and service from Amy and her team!!
Took a first date here. Got the 6 course meal. Every time we got a new course it sparked a new conversation. 10/10 would bring her back
The omakase menu with sake pairings is the BEST sushi experience I have ever had. This was a belated 40th birthday gift to me from my friend, and she and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite and every sip. The chef and servers were all cordial, knowledgeable, and informative. The best thing I learned is that winter is sushi season, because the fish are fattier! Arigato gozaimasu!
celebrated my boyfriend's birthday last night (january 17th). met chef tim at his asian art museum talk a while back & had to try his restaurant. such a nice little space. jonathan was so friendly & very informative. everything he recommended was delicious! the quality of fish is sooooo amazing. we will definitely be returning to try the omakase :-) definitely worth it, will be telling all my friends about ichi! :-)
Fresh sushi served in a traditional way. Price was per Piece and a bit expensive for what it was. Also would be nice to offer a few more rolls for more options for those that are not into sushi nigiri. Salads were good but way to expensive for the two or three bites there are served.
Amazing food and very detailed service. Fantastic experience Overall.
Our waitstaff was attentive and fantastic. When he overheard this was a birthday present for my mom, he brought us both champagne unprompted. This has only happened to me once before in the city, and with all the competition, I would think it would happen more. But since it hasn't, it needs to be called out here - great service. The food was fantastic. We did the omakaze. Course one was an oyster with paddlefish caviar and ponzu. Course two was a cucumber and sesame seed salad. Course three was sushi. Course four was a very japanese version of poke with lots of great tuna. Course four was sushi. Course five was a squash soup with crab. My mom did not fancy it, and they detected this and swapped it out at no additional cost for clams in a garlic sauce that was heavenly. Again, unprompted. I can't recommend it for a great dining experience enough!
Excellent top-notch sushi restaurant with extraordinary omikase dinners. The sushi chefs are amazing, the quality of sushi & sake excellent, the wait-staff very knowledgeable. Just a superb dinner experience.
Very high quality sushi, traditional preparations (no weird rolls). Pretty pricey and small portions, but a good meal if you are willing to pony up. Attentive service.
ICHI Sushi is fabulous!!! So glad we stumbled upon this little gem. By far, the best sushi experience we've had in the city. Not only is the food amazing, the service is second to none. We sat at the bar and had piece after piece of heaven delivered to us by the amazing sushi chef. Everything is extremely fresh with the cleanest, brightest flavors. This is a "no extra soy, no extra wasabi" sort of sushi experience. Each piece is "dressed" perfectly. We also enjoyed a great Italian sauv blanc and a glass of local sake. Space is tiny and very warm and inviting. We can't wait to go back.
Always the best!
When you are looking for a deeper sushi experience than most
Great except the drunk patrons at the next table. Not sure what anyone could have done about them. Otherwise a wonderful evening out. Great food thoughtful service
Not much in the way of ambiance, but I go for a good omakaze not decor. Chef had creative offerings, paced just right for each diner. Eat here!
Highly overrated. Boring food.
Cozy upscale sushi bistro. I found the food expensive and not memorable.
Best southern creole food in the City. Staff were extremely attentive and the food did not disappoint.
Ordered the omakase menu and was not disappointed! Beautiful presentation. Full flavors.
Disappointed with meh fish quality, overseasoning with yuzu, wasabi, and shiso.
How have I not heard of this place before? ❤️ Perfect for a special date night. Would recommend 💯
Great creative sushi. Other dishes can use more creativity. The spinach ohitashi was too much spinach and not very exciting.
It is a little spendy for sure, but the sushi chefs there are incredible. The omakaze Is really quite special.
It is a busy place so plan ahead. Recommend sitting at the bar to talk to the chef. He is great!
Service was great! Our waiter was very attentive and friendly! The nigiri was sooooo delicious! My friend and I really enjoyed the experience we had there. <3 <3 <3
ICHI is my favorite date night sushi spot in San Francisco! The staff and food are truly incredible and the small size of the restaurant makes the experience feel special.
The best sushi in my life! Price high but you have to pay quality and know how. The sushi man was fast and you could tell he spent his days making the best sushi he could.
Definitely recommended
Freaking awesome. 4 th time over the years and still blows my mind. We went late, which I recommend! The staff is super knowledgeable and generous with info. And will have the time if you’re there off-hours. Having these interesting, melt in your mouth bites perfectly garnished is amazing. And quite special
Food was unbelievable - the sushi must be the freshest I have had in a long time! Servers were very knowledgeable and attentive. If you go I’d suggest trying the tasting menu - we didn’t and regretted it. The space is small and not intimate if that’s what you are looking for - if your going for romantic make sure you get a table, not bar seating.
Special note: Try the Sequoia Sake ... it’s delicious!!!
the only thing that would have improved our meal was slightly warmer rice. Otherwise- top notch. Oh- and the chairs are not very comfortable so be forewarned.
This place is amazing. The owners are super cool and the sushi is the most amazing thing I ever had. It is like a taste experience and with every new piece they give you it’s like a taste sensation explosion. My favorite treat to myself. You have to try it. I still dream about it.
every bite was genuinely outstanding. it's a small place so it fills up and can get loud.
