Icehouse Ratings and Reviews
We went to IceHouse to hear a friend’s band play. The music was painfully loud. The service was really abysmal. It took forever to get anything. We ordered the mushroom flatbread, which was a horrible soggy mess served in a bowl! Wrap your head around flatbread in a bowl. The server brought one meal and fries we didn’t order, and our other two meals came out at least 20 minutes later. The guys said their burgers were “just ok.” Fries were great. I had salmon with the black garlic mayo, which was delicious.
The entryway is janky and crowded with a sliding door and curtain.
The food pricing is annoying. The only way to order food was to order a starter, a main dish, and a desert for $50. We are not big desert people, but we had to pay for it anyway.
Five main dishes were on the menu to choose from. Even with those few options they were out of the one my wife wanted, so she had to settle for something else.
About five minutes after taking our order our waiter came back to our table and said that their ordering system malfunctioned and that he would need to take our order again.
When it was time to order the desert that we were going to take home, they were out of my wife's first choice (again). Again there were only four or five desert choices, but somehow were out of one of them.
I made Valentines Resevations at the beginning of Januray and called to ask if there was going to be a full menu. They said yes. I called the week before and they said it would be a full menu plus a valentines day special. When we got there we were told no its a set menu and options we wanted weren't available. We left without eating and it was very disappointing that the staff clearly didn't have the right information. The price was fair for what they were offering but didn't want it and were told that wasn't going to be the only option. Thanks for ruining valentines day!
We didn't like being put next to a loud table of about a dozen women for a birthday party, when we were looking a chance to talk to each other. We weren't impressed with the Lobster Bisque to start, there was to much roasted veggies and not enough lobster or broth to compliment the dish. I liked the black garlic wings and the dessert was really good.
I do like the location and the set-up of Ice House but if you are looking to have a conversation with someone don't go here. Also the place is not for the picky eater.
There was a problem with our reservations, otherwise I would give a great review. Staff did their best to find seating for us, but the place was packed, so it took awhile. We had invited family and friends for the music-love the Broke Down Dollies. Will come back again.
Ice House is one of my favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities. It is also one of my favorite places to see live music. They feature great local bans, as well as touring musicians. They offer an eclectic mix of indie, folk, jazz, electronic, and hip hop. The food is simply to die for and they have an incredible selection of beers and cocktails. The ambience is second to none! If you are in Minneapolis, do yourself a for and check this place out!
We have enjoyed Icehouse in the evenings for their great cocktails and live music. We recently had a friend in town for the Super Bowl and decided to give their Sunday bruch a try. We were not at all disappointed with the choice. Service was outstanding, food was amazing and the atmosphere was truly authentic. Can't say enough good things about Icehouse.
Ice House always comes through with excellent and hearty food. The Sat. brunch was no exception with a Laphroig Bloody Mary with a duck leg and pickled veggie garnish, a savory cheesy, herby scone with great coffee and a hangar steak and eggs and a side of green chili gravy that was simple and absolutely excellent quality. They find musicians that are both authentic, uplifting and entertaining but still mellow enough to eat next to.
We ordered brussel sprouts & cauliflower for appetizers, which were really good. The wings and entrees were disappointing. We had a group of 4, and no one enjoyed their meal. This is the first time we have dined here, so it may have just been an off night, but for the price there are much better options.
Brunch for my birthday with my family (5 adults, 4 kids). The had a three piece band and we sat in next to the stage. Food was loved by both kids and adults and the music was fantastic. Everyone l talked to after the brunch gave the outing to Icehouse high praise, including the kids. FYI I have been at night for a late dinner and am not sure I’d bring kids.
Fun atmosphere with live music. You could still talk, music wasn’t really loud. Food good quality . Service was nice, but tough on her because we were upstairs & the server had to go up & down. I. E. She couldn’t get to our table as often as we or her would have liked.
Our dinner at Icehouse was perfect. The live music was relaxing and not overbearing, providing a pleasant atmosphere, the food and cocktails delicious. A HUGE thank you to our server Joel, who helped us out greatly. He was prompt and kind and made the night comfortable and easy. Well done to the bar team and kitchen crew as well, couldn’t have been happier!!
The food was beyond outstanding and given the quality of ingredients, presentation, and unique flavor profile, worth the price. Having live music being played while eating really solidified it as one of the most romantic dates I've ever taken someone on. Just a fun overall vibe and I can't wait to return.
While most patrons flock to the Icehouse for their entertainment, which is great btw, we frequent them because of their most wonderful cuisine. Truly, I have never experienced a parsnip as magnificent as those we are Sunday night! Their creative cocktails are also a pleasant experience.
We visited Icehouse for a dinner date before watching a show at the Guthrie. The service was excellent from beginning to end. There is a coat check at the entrance which was very nice. The ambiance is really nice, they have a stage within the building for performances and music which is very fun to pair music with dinner. The menu has something for everyone and the food is very nicely presented. I highly recommend checking Icehouse out!
