Food was delicious!! Six of us had a wide assortment of apps, meals, dessert and drinks. Everything was excellent including the service. We will definitely be back!
Wonderful food and service.
We shall return.
Everything was incredible: food, drinks, ambiance and service. The music was appropriate and entertaining for a Sunday/Mother's Day brunch. Excellent work Icehouse...I'll be back many times!
Everything was excellent. Great appetizer selections. Try the Kung Pao cauliflower. We are going back.
The waiter seemed like he did not want to be there. He seemed bored at explaining the menu to us. When we asked his name his response was “the name I was given is ______”. Not sure what that is suppose to mean. If you like trying different things then go here. It was not our cup of tea.
Good food, great music!
Excellent food and service. An interesting menu that offers a variety of option. I fould the pickle jar app to be a great sampler if you like pickles as I do. There are a variety of glutten free options. The macaroon dessert was delicious. You can get most any type of drink you might want. I enjoyed the music, but the parking is a bit of a chgallenge.
The only criticism I would have is that the waiter was just a bit too dramatic for me. Nice guy, was just trying too hard. Very minor criticism though. Place was fun, great vibe.
The place is a hidden gem. The retro vibe of the building, the live music played by real musicians, the service, and the food, of the food was to die for. I tried everyone at my table' s food and couldn't even pick a favorite. The workers are the REALEST and did so much to tend to our crew that I don't think I could ever repay them (even with the tip). Ice house is what you are looking for if you need a retro restaurant away from the mainstream restaurants kids go to post Instagram about how interesting their lives are; this place is for people who live in the moment.
Beautiful unquie building and ambiance. The live entertainment sounded wonderful and set the mood for a lovely birthday dinner for two. The host was friendly, inviting, and accommodating. We arrived earlier then our dinner reservations and he was able to find us a table for two in the balcony area. I enjoyed the beet tartine, oh so very delicious. I highly recommend! My date ordered the icehouse burger which he said was one of the best burgers in town. We would both dine together at Icehouse and recommend to others.
Fun atmosphere here. The food was fabulous. My steak was a perfect medium rare, like I requested. My sister had the truffles w/ grits. They were super yummy!!
It was nice to have non meat options for my vegetarian sister.
We have been to Icehouse a number of times but this was our first experience eating at the chef's tasting bar. The flavors of the courses were phenomenal and the attentive service was excellent. Overall a great experience. We were at the 5:00 seating on a Friday night and it was nice that the staff had time to spend with us since it wasn't too busy yet.
Best Brunch in town. We love the music, food & drinks!
We went to Icehouse for our anniversary. The whole experience was wonderful, from the service to the food. We will definitely plan to return!
My fiancé and I had a coupon to Icehouse from our Uptown magazine and we're coming to the Eat Street area anyway to stop by Tilt. We've lived in Uptown together for almost 3 years and somehow haven't made it over so we figured tonight was as good as ever to come by.
We were seated instantly in the back towards large windows for natural light. I'm not sure if they have live music tonight but we passed a stage to get to our seats.
Our server, Tricia, greeted us promptly and was very friendly. We looked over the drink list and ended up ordering a bottle of Pinot noir and started with some Kung Pow Cauliflower, a tasty blend of slightly crunchy cauliflower with a glaze of chili peanut oil, peanuts, and scallions. Highly recommend this as a veggie starter with a slight kick.
My fiancé ordered the pork belly and LOVED it. The pork was very tender and the crispy beans flavorful. He was a little surprised by how small the plate looked at first but it ended up being a great portion size. I ordered the large potato gnocchi with an addition of pork belly for some extra protein. Honestly, with the size of the cauliflower starter I should have ordered the small and that would have been the perfect size. I'm a huge fan of gnocchi but was disappointed in theirs. It was honestly more like French fries than a pasta dish - and yes, I know gnocchi has potato but the amount of potato in this was incredibly rich.
We were also caught a bit off guard when we went to lay and found that they charge you extra to use your credit card. I'm not sure if it's a flat fee or a percentage but either way that's a cost you should be absorbing when you're already paying $90 for a meal for 2.
Great service, most of the food was good and the environment was cool. But because they charge their customers to use credit cards I honestly don't think we'll be back.
Hi! Thank you for visiting us on such a special day and for the feedback about the food and your experience overall. We apologize for the confusion with the credit card charge. Other establishments in the area are moving to this format as well and we decided to implement this change a few weeks ago. The thought is a line item charge for the sake of transparency in lieu of raising the base price on any of the menu items. We will take your feedback into account for when/if we revisit this change.
Great venue for drinks and music, but service and food quality has gone down and prices have gone up since my last visit. I also was disappointed to wait 20 minutes for a drink order (ordered at beginning of night, not brought out until after we were served the main course). Would only recommend for music and drinks.
Wonderful evening! Outstanding food and great service!
We loved the atmosphere in the Ice House! Good service, good music and fabulous food! The 2-story restaurant offers American cuisine, drinks & live music all in an industrial setting. We loved the curved booth we were in, probably could have handled six people, the four of us fit nicely and had a great view of the stage and band. I had the Icehouse Burger and it was terrific! Got to taste the Lobster Grilled Cheese with was very good. That's what I'll get next time! Great food, great atmosphere!
Loved listening to Thirsty River band during Brunch on Sunday, April, 7.
Great Sunday morning music with Thirsty River. Good Bloody Mary’s and brunch fare.
The brunch music is always a hit! The staff is so accommodating and the food is to die for. mwah! I love this place.
Absolutely delicious food! We really loved the food and drinks! Would recommend to everyone! Can't wait to go again. Will probably do the chef's table just to try more food! Yum! And dessert was Amazing!
Excellent Food, service, & atmosphere. Love the location and the food.
Icehouse is a favorite spot for brunch. We love the food and the music is great!
Chef Matthew Bickford is perhaps the most underrated chef in the Twin Cities! I don't get to Icehouse as often as I would like, but Matt and Brian's team never disappoints. This time, we enjoyed brunch...the quiche and a smoked salmon Benedict preceded by a Bloody Homer and a Bloody Laphroaig . Ever creative whether at brunch, lunch or dinner...Icehouse is a solid 5 Stars!
We always love coming to Icehouse and enjoy that they have a kid's menu! Our daughter and her friend had a great time after seeing The Hobbit at the Children's Theater. It was a yummy ending to a fun night!
The live jazz music was enjoyable, as was the food. The server warned us that the fortified wines were more like vermouth, and they usually only use them for mixing, so I don't know why they had them on the menu. Still would recommend and enjoyed everything.
Great place to watch live music and have dinner.
Interesting choices on the menu. Glad we came before the music started.
Food is great. We were disappointed in the entertainment because The Icehouse advertised it as blues and jazz so we expected a blues/jazz band. But their entertainment was a classical guitarist who you could barely hear and with no vocals.
Awesome burger with live music and lively atmosphere
Food was delicious and creative. Band was nice addition to meal. Desserts delicious especially the mint ice cream
I have a not-so-secret love affair with Icehouse. I have never had a negative experience in dozens of visits. The staff is world-class, the food knocks my socks off, the ambience is perfection. The ONLY improvement that could be made is if you let me live there.
Great food and ambiance. The music is fantastic and so fun to eat while enjoying live music .
We were very impressed w/ our food. And what a great venue for a small chamber concert
Server was awesome, cider was awesome, gluten free Kung Pao cauliflower was awesome. Live band was so awful we had to leave.
Only problem was my reservation made through Open Table was not on Icehouse's list. Luckily I photographed the confirmation so we got our table -- but this happened once before at another restaurant. I don't know what the problem is, but someone somewhere is dropping the ball.
Worst experience ever at Icehouse, and I've been there countless times. Server ignored us mostly, and continued to fly by us while we waited to order every part of our meal. We were actually watching him refill waters at tables who were finished and had their "to go" boxes sitting on the table, while we waiting for him. When he'd arrive table side, his tone was curt and unfriendly. What made this worse, is that we were there to try and "celebrate" my Dad's birthday as he had painfully, recently passed away. And, honestly, we were a 'typical' low-key table of 5 who wanted a simple round of cocktails and dinner; we weren't needy or troublesome or high maintenance. What a disappointing evening all around.
I attended a concert at Icehouse on St. Patrick's Day and it was super fun. The drinks were good and the vibe was great. The noise level is only high when there's a band playing. Parking is tricky during peak hours.
