The menu was a little different, but ok. We ordered a cheese tray with bread to start. Then we had sandwiches. I ordered the Reuben. It was good! cocktails were ok. I guess I should have looked at the menu closer be fore going. The prices were high and the evening switched over from a jazz saxophone to hip hop and rap. The place is nice but its not for us. I paid over 200 dollars for what we had. The next night we had steaks and lobster and I paid about 10 dollars more.
Food was overpriced and not good. Fish tasted old and was not the kind of fish described. Wine tastes old. Just overall not impressed.
Chef Matthew Bickford has changed his 10 course fixed price ($50.00) dinner from 10 courses to 7. The 7 courses are bigger portions so the total food amount is the same and bountiful. Wine pairing is also available as an option at $5.00 per course. As always, it was an extraordinary culinary experience! Every new guest that I bring proclaims that the food was incredible and that they want to bring others back to share in the experience. The current seven courses included squash soup, a salad, tuna, bass, and steak plates, a goat cheese soufflé and a dessert. Every course was original with blending of unique and creative flavors. Truly a culinary delight. And the presentations of each plate are a work of art.
The Icehouse fixed price seven course offering remains my favorite venue in the Twin Cities. It is where I bring my family and friends for special occasions, date night with my husband and any gathering where I want to impress a guest or associate. The value is definitely there in both food and professional service. A shout out to Kitty, our server (5 stars all on her own) who ensured our evening was a delight. I can’t wait to return soon!
We walked in and there was no one at the host stand. I asked the female bartender if we should check in with her and she was fairly rude. Other than that we had a great time!
Great atmosphere and dining experience. The wait staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. Love the music.
Great good and service. There was an awesome jazz band playing while de were eating. Perfect dinner.
Haven't been in quite a while and had a.great experience. Our server was fantastic. Will be back for a future visit for sure.
Our server was very lovely and did a great job. However, the kitchen service was extremely slow. We ordered bloody Mary’s that were just tomato juice and vodka(I think though I couldn’t tell). They had no flavor at all and were just not good. The food took so long to come out that the server apologized multiple times and brought us a small dish of fruit in the meantime. Once our food did come it tasted pretty good with the exception of the brisket hash that was barely edible because it was burned as if someone forgot it on the cooktop. We will not be going back.
Food was good. They were not busy at all yet the service was extremely slow and inattentive. :(
Not a single complaint. Lobster gnocchi hit the spot, as did the tap collection!
Great meal, and great show by Accordo
The live performance was loud and annoying, but that's not really my thing. The pumpkin scone was magical!
Awesome food at reasonable prices and a nice three piece jazz band. Will definitely go again.
Thanks for a great brunch experience for the 6 of us (4 adults and 2 kids) on a Sunday morning. Food was uniformly well prepared and the service was excellent. Was there a Place to hang up coats? Would be nice for the colder months.
Nice to have a choice as to whether to sit in the live-music room or in the quieter back room with large windows.
Food is always good here. The service has been inconsistent. Our biggest disappointment was live music did not show up.
Excellent in all respects.
I'd recommend it for the music, which was great and fun. The service was quite bad, including being shorted on change twice in a row. The food was hit and miss--the dessert was awful--but the drinks were very good. I'd go back again for the music and drinks, but would hope for different service. If the same thing happened again, I would change that to not going back and recommending that others stay away, too.
We go for the music (Dollies with Doug Otto today). But food and drinks are great. Cool setting. Go to place for brunch when outdoor music scene freezes over.
My wife and I went here to celebrate our anniversary. We each had made use of the prix fixe offering. All of the food was delicious!
I love this place, the food is great, the Friday early evening music is free, the atmosphere is intimate.
There is a $6 valet, which is a reasonable price and convenient.
Enjoyed our evening at Icehouse. Great atmosphere with some nice jazz players. The Seafood Risotto was very tasty and the Icehouse Burger was done just right. A little pink, moist and well seasoned.
It was perfect. An energetic crowd, great drinks, wonderfully prepared line-caught salmon and Brian Nichol’s music.
The prix fixe menu cannot be topped. The chef and team really amazed us for our first-ever trip to Icehouse. We loved our Pork Belly Cobb Salad, and the presentation of the Garlic Shrimp was inventive and a wonderful combination of both flavors and textures. The Waygu Sirloin was almost beaten out on the plate by the sublime brisket hash while the gorgeous Seafood Risotto took the top prize of the Instagram worthy meals. Took much of it home as well as the Salted Caramel Macaroons - TDF (to die for). The only issue was the service was slightly behind what we had hoped, but it made for an extremely leisurely meal. We will be back. Nice live music and a fun, casual atmosphere. Loud in the front room but that was expected - and the quieter back room was offered. Parking is an absolute bear in this neighborhood, so we took advantage of the $6/valet.
Excellent on every level. A very friendly welcome was extended as we entered the door. Our server, Dan, was exceptional. Even Chef Matt came to our table and made us feel welcome. This was at the Saturday brunch. Best pork with biscuits and gravy I’ve ever tasted. Cinnamon roll was lovely as well. The shrimp and grits were rave worthy, as well.
I loved the brunch and thoroughly enjoyed the music. It is nice to go to a place that values good music.
Our son was part of the live music (Red Hot Django Peppers-violin), so I brought 25 of our closest friends (: The house was packed, so service was slow. Staff acknowledged that and apologized, but for me it worked out perfectly. I got my coffee and Bloody Mary promptly, I had time to socialize. In fact, I sent my server away twice because I had not yet focused on the menu. Our server was as friendly, attentive, competent as could be! Food was great. Love the ambiance—perfect for live music. And, partiality aside, this music was perfect for this restaurant. It was s thoroughly enjoyable brunch!
We had fabulous waiter, Chris! He had a depth of knowledge about drinks and wine, including a change over from one of the usual wines offered to the new options. He was prompt and an absolute delight. Food was great and the risotto dish could have had more chili and less for mint my husband's preference but was still great. Loved the Kung Pao Cauliflower, it is a must try if you haven't had it for an appetizer 😁. The patio was the perfect dining atmosphere to end our long week. Finally, we were delineating my husband's birthday and the dessert was fabulous!!
Great location, food is fit for foodies. Also great music venue. Craft cocktails are well made.
fantastic! live music was so good and food was awesome !!!
Great food, service, live music!
Best restaurant venue stage food service in town. Try the Benedict, the salmon, the beef, the salad, the cheese plate. You will find something you love. Top notch cocktails
Icehouse has very unique and delicious offerings. Everything is prepared with care. The serving team is professional but warm and welcoming. It is a place you will want to go to again and again. There is wonderful live music and you can be in a separate room from the music and have quiet conversation. My husband and I love Icehouse!!!!!
Great food, great service, great atmosphere
Celebrated finishing our Master's thesis presentations for 5 of us and it was wonderful! We were seated in a section that was perfect searching for all of us to talk, not too much noise, waitress was prompt even though she was busy and explained and answered questions we had, food was incredible and the drinks were wonderful. Waitress brought a to-go order promptly for one of group members and we were able to leave at our leisure. Thanks for making our.celebration perfect.😁
I showed up for my reservation and the restaurant was closed for a private event. No call or e-mail letting me know. The doors were locked and we had to scramble to find somewhere else to eat. I called and left a message and they never even called back to apologize.
We ordered salmon. The size of the piece was rather small which was ok but it was priced as MKT which seemed like the restaurant could take the risk on the prices. The cause was a little grainy on the execution. I couldn't place the sauce but it fit nicely with the meal. They definitely in tend portions to be on the smaller side which is just fine. The intent seems to be a better quality of food and a proper sized portion. However, the sweet corn wasn't even served with the dish. As i look at the menu now I don't recall seeing any mushrooms. I really liked the jazz trio playing while we were there.
The Icehouse is my favorite place. Staff are laid back and welcoming. Food, drinks and music all excel, and they aren’t afraid to try new things. Food is not plain: Prepared from scratch to accommodate a wide variety of tastes and price points, diners can expect to notice a variety of complimentary flavor. I am never disappointed.
Pace is not rushed. You may have to wait a bit for your server at times; best to relax and take it easy if you can, or tell them up front if you’re in a hurry.
Bar selection features a small but well-rounded beer selection, fun and economical pre-mixed cocktails, and an excellent list of whiskey and other tastefully selected liquors. .
Sound levels can be high at busy times and during music performances, but seating is available away from the stage for those who prefer that, including outdoors during the warmer seasons.
As a live music venue the Icehouse has hosted world-renowned artists as well as a great variety of local, regional and emerging artists of numerous types. Music is central to what they do, and it’s always done well, thanks to the dedication and caring of everyone involved.
We wanted to watch 8 Cellos perform. The group was fantastic, their concert was thoroughly enjoyable. They are amazingly talented woman who took on a challenging piece of music and they nailed it.
The food was good but I'm not a fan of an alacart menu. The portions were small with my selection. My husbands and my sons were larger, luckily we could share. Overall it was an enjoyable evening.
Always a great experience at Icehouse!
