   Food was excellent and the portions were good. I like that the meal came with the sides . The ambiance was great. It was a lovely evening and there was outside seating if you wanted.

   Our server was terrible. He made the experience good rather than outstanding. Food was exceptional buy a poor service made it a frustrating and unpleqsant experience.

   The food was so good we ate here 2 nights in a row. Creative, clever, sophisticated menu. Firat night our server was amazing. 2nd night server was a dud and none of the food came out hot.

   We were visiting Tofino and the reviews for the Ice House were very good, so it was on our list to try. We were not disappointed. Despite having a reservation, the service staff basically ignored us for approx. 15 min. while we waited at the door. Once seated we waited for another 10 min. or more for someone to bring us menus. They were clearly understaffed for how busy they were that evening. Once we were on the radar, service improved and we enjoyed an amazing meal. The atmosphere was fun and upbeat. The sunset that particular evening was stunning, so all in all it was a very good choice.

   The restaurant is placed in the waterfront, and there is an amazing view to the sea. The food was excellent. We enjoyed our visit at the restaurant very much and can highly recommend a visit at Ice House Oyster Bar.

   Locally sourced foods, e.g. chanterelles, oysters and halibut, were such a welcomed change from the standard fare one finds at most restaurants. My only complaint was that the 8 ounce glass of wine for $19 was unexceptional and overpriced. My cocktail (a house specialty) was a much better choice.

    Myself, my brother, and sister-in-law dined here while visiting tofino - it was fantastic. All of the food we ordered was really excellent. The only small issue we had was that it was SO dark in the restaurant we could barely see what we were eating!!! However, everything else (including the service) was just wonderful.

    Hi, our dinner was very good, I wish the menu and the wine list was a little larger and your menu had more gluten free options. Would like to pass on for your information Whistler Forager is a very good gluten free beer, try it. Cheers!

    Waterfront casual restaurant mostly oysters and seafood. We had mussels which were ok, not too crazy about the broth. We both had fish cod and Solomon which were quite good. Rather loud place inside, but it was too windy outside, but they lowered music volume when we asked. Washroom needs improvement

    Was very disappointed in our evening meal- service was so slow (required 40 minutes to get our drink order and restaurant was only 2/3 full) food was Only mediocre at best. Over cooked Halibut, gluey risotto with only two scallops (?) seafood tower at $145 is not worth it. Order 10 oysters and 1/2 crab instead! Interior at tables is very very dark after sunset so hard to tell what was what on the platters. Cell phone flashlight shouldn’t be necessary!! Very kind and pleasant wait-staff but that’s it.

    On our last night in Tofino, we wanted to have a special meal in a beautiful location. As usual, we searched out waterfront venues and after spotting this restaurant, we thought we'd try it out. I made a reservation so that we would be sure to get a table from which to enjoy the sunset. We were not disappointed! We had a choice of a table indoors by the window or outside on the patio (we chose inside due to the cool weather). Our waiter was very attentive and our meal of 4 shared appetizers and oysters was delicious. The snapper ceviche, mussels, shrimp and octopus were all presented very artfully and all arrived within minutes of each other. For dessert, we were lured by the tantalizing names of the chocolate pot and the rhubarb meringue. We opted for both and found them tasty and generous. The added benefit of a spectacular sunset created a perfect finale to our Tofino vacation.

    This place blew me away with their incredibly fresh seafood. We ordered oysters and their 2 tier seafood platter; they kept the flavours delicate and simple while maintaining the flavour of the seafood. They're also located out on the water overlooking the calm out in the distance. I would definitely return anytime I'm on the island.

    Really not as good as expected. Super waterfront location with outside seating. However, table was heavily worn. So much so that my wife snagged her dress on a splinter. Food had many flavors but they never melded into a coherent flavor profile. Service was fine, but not heartfelt. There are much better options in Tofino, although none with this view.

    Was lovely. No lighting outside to see your meal once it gets dark. Difficult to eat the crab dish etc in those conditions.

    A very average looking place and needs major maintenance works. There is virtually no upkeep , even the dresses of servers are sort of dirty. The location is good right on the water. Food was average in taste as well as presentation.

    Disappointed in my salmon dinner. The fennel was hard and chewy and I like my salmon a little more cooked. I complained about the fennel and our nice server gave us a portion of good potatoes. For the price of meal not worth it. I would not go again especially with so many great eating places in Victoria. We visit Victoria every year.

    My wife and I ate here 2 years ago when it first opened and Elliott Kempster was the mgr. While on our holiday in Tofino we had 3 meals at the Oyster House. We brought friends with us the 2nd and 3rd time and all of us raved about the quality of the meal and the ambience. In 2017 we returned but the OH was closed for the season. Our meal on Saturday night was superb as was the ambience and service.One of the people who joined us in 2016 was with us again and he was as happy as my wife and I with the service etc. He is operating the BriMar B&B and is expecting 3 guests from France in early September and has made reservations to take the French contingency. He is also going to recommend OH to other guests.It is a pleasure to see a restaurant continue to deliver high quality food ad and service rather than resting on it's laurels.

    Patio was great and the drinks were good. Service was unbelievably slow considering it wasn’t that busy. It took nearly 2 hours for our meal and the server didn’t give us any updates. When the meal came the waiter spilt crab water on us and didn’t even apologize I’d highly recommend having a Caesar with an oyster in it and then going somewhere else.

    We were seated at a very busy high top table next to the door. This is despite reserving more than a month ago. It was probably the least desirable table in the restaurant. My husband had the mussels. At least 40% did not open- he enquired but was rebuffed by server 1. Server 2 offered to take it off the bill (but when the bill came it wasn’t). Our other dishes were mediocre at best. My dungeness crab at $27 was probably about 2oz of crab max. We had to go for Pizza afterwards. Honestly the room is nice - but the place is a scam. We will not be dining again and have canceled our reservation for later in the week. BTW the other meals we have had in Tofino have been excellent. Highly recommend Wolf in the Fog ... We dine out frequently for pleasure and business- at home and in other locations when traveling. We preferentially use Open Table because of the service, convenience and honesty of the reviews (on most part). Please save your money and dine elsewhere.

    This was my favorite place to eat on our entire vacation. We sat outside with a view of the water. The draft beer/wine was excellent and my entree dish was amazing while reasonably priced. I had the mushroom risotto and added two jumbo scallops to it.

    Walking in, you see the view over the water and turn right to see the bar with six or eight types of oysters piled up behind. You order a cocktail and the oyster man explains the qualities of each oyster variety. You go to your seat to order some great mussels and the oysters arrive, fresh and wonderful. The poached halibut is sublime, the risotto with a side of scallops is great comfort food, and a dessert shared by all tops it off. If we lived here, we'd be regulars!

    Das Icehouse wurde uns empfohlen und wir saßen im Sonnenuntergang auf der Terrasse und haben die vorzüglichen Austern genossen. Auch der Weißwein dazu war perfekt gekühlt - insgesamt ein toller Abend!!
