Ibiza Food and Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
This was my first visit to Ibiza in a couple of years. I like some of the changes that they have made with the interior. The patio is delightful, when the weather cooperates. As always, the food was outstanding. We enjoyed the special salad of the evening, heirloom tomato with blue cheese. It was just delicious! We also had the Waygu meatballs. They were delicious, but there was too much sauce. The crab stuffed snapper was beyond fabulous. Please, please keep that on the menu! The low rating on value is because it appears there is a different philosophy now about pricing wine. At one time, Ibiza was known for reasonable wine prices. This is no longer the case, sadly.
EVERYTHING was overcooked. I was really livid with the halibut chef special. $44 for what was a very overcooked, about 6oz. Halibut fillet. It was actually partially burnt. As was my wife's octopus and chorizo. For thos prices, you better offer top notch food and it was well below average. I actually recommended ibiza in the past. Now , i doubt i will ever return. It's a shame.
Been coming there since the restaurant opened....made advance reservations and got placed in center of restaurant when there wereopen tables along the window. Was very obvious when the hostess tried to be subtle with manager who i did not recognise to ask him if dhe should seat us in a bad table.
Although we booked it wasn't necessary as the place was really quite empty. Normally not a good sign but on this occasion it proved incorrect. The calamari was well cooked and well presented. Loved the lamb shank which was tender and succulent. Wine list was excellent with not too much mark up.
I was extremely pleased with my dining experienced at Ibiza. It was a special occasion, my girl friend had just passed her bar exam. The food was spectacular, the service impeccable, and our server made a fantastic wine suggestion. The manager Richard was delightful. This was my third visit within the past 4 months and I will definitely be back soon!
I have been to Ibiza about 5-6 times now and they are consistently delicious every time. I love their kale salad and the fish specials are always very good. Great veggies. I'm not in love with the dessert menu, I've tried both chocolate dishes and wouldn't get either one again so this is the only negative. Great date spot
I enjoyed the ambiance and decor of the restaurant. Ricardo, our waiter was so close to excellent....just did not laugh hard enough at my humor!! We started with a bottle of wine. I ordered a Cyrus 12...Ricardo brought us a Alexander Valley Cab. Since I have drank cases of this cab...I did not mention his mistake. We all enjoyed the wine, Ricardo decanted both bottles, however the wine had little time to breath....
We had cocktails before dinner, Tito's very dirty martinis, with Blue Cheese Olives. They were spot on. We started our meal with 2 appetizers, the Waygu Meatballs and the Octopus. I was not impressed with the meatballs..no spice, no zing...they were meatballs. I put them right up there with Chef Boy-r-Dee. The octopus...awesome. The Olive oil and bacon with the octopus gave it a unique flavor...just very good!
We were two couples and both decide on the Whole Stuffed Fish to share for our entrees. All four of us were not happy with our choice. The Fish was very bland as was the stuffing and crab meat...just no taste at all. It was the low point of the evening.
We finished off with two desserts, Tiramisu and Chocolate Moose Cake. I did not try the Tiramisu, not a fan of this dessert, but my wife and daughter in law said it was very good. I concentrated on the Chocolate Moose...it was average.
All in all we had a good evening. Ricardo was a lot of fun. Just our dining experience was average...at best!!
Waitress served us a warm bottle of Ruinart. She poured everyone glasses and when we went to taste, it wasn't even mildly chilled. A man came out with a chilled bottle but she told him to take it back. It took over an hour for the opened bottle to chill enough to drink. She also didn't put in our appetizer order and had to come back 15 minutes after we placed it to ask us again what we wanted.
Food was not as good as it used to be. I used to eat here 2-3x a month and it was good but uneven. I always ordered the octopus app. Always different. Varied from great to so-so.
It was the great nights that brought you back. Last two visits were OK. In Houston, thats not going to cut it. This restaurant is slipping.
Ibiza came highly recommended by foodie friends so we had to try it. Menu is inventive and interesting. Service is delightful. Wine list extensive and good value. The food was great. We ate off the Houston Restaurant Weeks menu which was Super. We will go back to work our way through the rest of the menu.
Once the waiter realized that we were there for HRW, his service disappeared. He was going through the motions, but his attitude and treatment of us was incredibly cold. It became clear that he had no interest in us whatsoever, and basically sent food runners or other staff to our table rather than even talk to us. I was very disappointed...
