We eat here a lot and have never had a bad experience. We usually use a Groupon or Living Social voucher which makes the dinner more affordable.
First course was cold (scallop literally cold in center). Second course good. Service was geared towards getting in and out as quickly as possible. Waiter was pushing us to order, eat, and pay as quickly as possible. As soon as my last bite was eaten, the busboy swooped in, took my plate, and the waiter dropped dessert menus. The experience was uncomfortable. Won’t return.
This was a delayed, compliments of Hurricane Florence, 52nd Wedding Anniversary dinner. The service was spot-on, wine excellent, dinner choices plenty and the meal was superb. Our third time visiting and each experience is better than the last. Christianne’s team is well trained in service and execution. I highly recommend this restaurant, ne a touch of Italy dining to everyone. We were fortunate to pick up a Groupon voucher for 4, keep you eyes open for good deals.
Amazing food AMAZING service. Even walked us out of the door. Pasta was super fresh and decadent. Had an app, salad, pasta and dessert and don’t have negative thoughts about any of it
My birthday was not acknowledged and it was in the reservation. Our table was cramped in a corner. My pasta was very salty. The waiter was told so our dinners would have very little salt. I had the corvino special and my husband had the swordfish. Both dishes were very good.
Wonderful dinner just around the corner from our hotel.... fantastic price on a great Nebbiolo wine, everyone loved their meal!
Food was good - way over salted.
The Calamari was excellent, but again way too salty. The mains were delicious but would have preferred a different side option other than polenta - perhaps a little risotto would have made the meal much tastier.
Dessert was amazing - would return just for that. We had the frozen strawberry meringue layered with vanilla gelato. So good!
Food is generally very good authentic. My beef tenderloin filet cooked "Gypsy" style in a tomato sauce was very tender, but somewhat tasteless. Also since the polenta was tasteless I couldn't eat it (would have been good if the sauce with the meat was better flavored then it would/could have worked better). Overall greate service, my meal was not great.
We selected this restaurant with the expectation of reliving last year’s visit to Tuscany. I can recommend the pasta. My husband ordered the mixed grill which was served Luke warm at best. The stuffed quail was dry, and he was very disappointed in his dinner. He would highly recommend the cheesecake.
Really nice restaurant with an extensive menu. Hand made pasta dishes, the best risotto I have ever had.
Service was equal to any five star restaurant. Every dish we had was superb.
Food is fresh atmosphere oh so inviting. It's like a quick trip till Italy! And the best hospitality ever.
Food was good but presentation was poor.
Service was sloppy. and lacked polish.
Disappointing after previously read good reviews.
Amazing as always!! The food is so good and the service is spectacular. One of my favorite restaurants of all time!
The waiter, although attentive, was abrupt. He tried too "lead" us through our dining process when his "leadership" was neither needed or required. The overall look of the restaurant appears very dated and badly needs to be updated. The food is very good but service and restaurant appearance both need improvement.
Great find. We tried this place after my husband got multiple promo emails. Food and service excellent. Bronzino the one of the best I have had. Nice traditional dining experience!
Went for lunch during restaurant week. The 3-course meal was well prepared and the service was excellent. But there is no excuse for charging $10 for a bottle of San Pellegrino water. Blatant gouging of the customer.
Based on the limited Restaurant Week offerings, very disappointing. Tuscan chicken was heavily breaded and greasy (admittedly, my poor choice on a muggy day). Although my dining companion liked her salmon entree, I thought it was bland. Appetizers and desserts (panna cotta + gelato) merely okay. Pretty surroundings and decent service, but definitely not the quality of the food I remembered from prior visits years ago.
An excellent meal, as usual. I Ricchi's pasta dishes are outstanding and the service is attentive.
We took advantage of Restaurant Week. I Ricchi is usually higher than our budget permits so this was a great opportunity to try it out and we were very pleased. The appetizers, entree and desserts were all outstanding; the service was great (Jerry was fairly new but already had the skills).
I hope we don't have to wait for next year's Restaurant Week to go again!
Excellent three course lunch (restaurant week), beginning with a luscious roasted tomato soup through to an addictive chocolate-hazlenut gelato. Entree was a very satisfying grilled salmon nicoise-style salad. Attentive but relaxed service. Kind crew.
Excellent service. Consistently good food. Recently good choices as specials of the day.
i Ricchi had great food. We got the pasta of the day and the risotto of the day. The risotto was good, perhaps a little bland. The pasta of the day, on the other hand, was great! Though it was a small portion, the four raviolis stuffed with salmon and topped with shrimp and a “light cream sauce,” were more than enough after a generous portion of bread and oil. If I had another hundred dollars, I would go again tonight.
Always a wonderful restaurant for authentic Italian food- have been going for 30 years! Christine welcomes everyone.
I love this restaurant and wish I could go more often. The food is amazing and the service is wonderful. I always have a great experience here.
I love iRicchi. Year after year they make consistently amazing food. There are few places in DC with authentic Italian food that comes with an authentic Italian environment. The dining room feels like an extension of your home where food, family and time spent over delicious meal are all honored.
Thoroughly enjoyed the food, ambiance and the service
Scallops, pasta,steak, drinks & desserts
Birthday dinner. Our waiter,Hoby, was excellent. Excellent food and very appropriately attentive service.
The service was great and very accommodating. The food was outstanding!
Good service and good food. Pasta was fantastic.
We always have a great dining experience here! The sauces are great ... not too much in the dish and nicely seasoned, especially their cream sauces. I recommend the Caprese as one of their best appetizers. My husband likes the scallops appetizer, and often orders the fish special (which he always enjoys). I am partial to their pasta dishes.
We have dined here several times and always enjoyed it. The food is good and the chef will make substitutions/changes to accommodate my diet. (I don't eat red meat, chicken, or shrimp). I especially love the cheesecake!!
No wonder i Ricchi has become one of our favorite restaurants, not only is the food good, sometimes excellent, but the service always leaves us feeling that we have been well cared for.
Our server was so knowledgeable and overall amazing! The food was on point, we actually got everything the server suggested and I’m so glad we did.
I still feel that this is one of Washington's finest restaurants, and definitely the best Italian restaurant in town. The menu is cleverly constructed, offering different selections from the usual Italian fare, All of the food is expertly prepared and absolutely delicious. The specials offer a departure from the usual menu that frequent diners are used to. The best part of dining at I Ricci however, is the amazing staff, management and owner. Everyone is genuine, welcoming and truly pleasant. I always feel confident taking friends and family here, as they go out of their way to make all visitors welcome. I look forward to many more successful visits to I Ricci.
Excellent staff and service, our server was very helpful and sweet.
The good is amazing, but its the staff that brings us back to me and time again. It's just like we are family.
Love to go here. The only issue is when I have the server - Said. He is just not on top of things. I have to ask for refills on water, etc. I would have to ask other servers for assistant. This is the third time I had him. Now that I know his name, I would ask for someone else.
Food was delicious and our waiter was knowledgeable. Nice ambiance.
