Classic Tuscan at it's best. Everything was amazing!
This service and experience is more about up-selling from the moment we walked in the door and did not feel genuine. We were rushed through the entire dinner and the staff interrupted our conversations frequently to bus the table and move our dinner along. Very disappointed we chose this restaurant, based on the reviews we read, over all the other excellent places in DC.
The restaurant is always consistently very good. Fresh pasta, fresh sauces and really great pairing of wines are some of many features of this jewel in the DC crown. Highly recommended and wonderful staff!
By far, our favorite DC restaurant. We go so often, we don't need menus, and are greeted warmly by all the staff, management and ownership. It's nice to have a place to take out of town guests to, where you don't have to worry about a thing. The food is always exceptional, flavorful, attractively presented and authentic for Tuscan Cuisine. They have a great wine list and the cocktails from the bar are top shelf. If I haven't mentioned it in previous reviews, the bread basket is amazing. All of the pasta is home made and wonderful, and the meats, seafood and poultry all of the utmost quality. Deserts are delicious and different from what you find at most Italian restaurants, but even those that are the norm, such as Tiramisu and Cannoli, are exceptional. It's a must try for anyone who hasn't yet been.
An enjoyable night and wonderful service except that they threw away my take-home which was not cool. The food was good but not excellent.
Delicious pasta, appetizers, bread. Personal professional service.
Great food. The food took forever to come out, but I think that was due to it being Valentines day.
ıt was the worst place ever ı go ın Washıngton DC
Service was very slow
food was really bad I did not eat anything
First they bring me check for $245.98 after I complain they reduce it to $129.87
Don't go ever to this place
Very disapointing diner. Ok it was Valentine’s Day which is probably not the best time to eat out since Resteraunt’s are busy but this was a bust. Mushroom soup had to be returned as it was basically thin vegetable consomee and not a good one, followed by a lobster rissoto with specs of lobster which was ok but lacking the principal ingredient followed by a lamb chop and rib dinner which had to be returned as way over cooked. The replacement was great but 2 out of 4 courses no good at first is a record. My date had the pasta vongole which consisted of a handful of clams and the rest canned. A very poor showing for this once great Resteraunt.
I was a little hesitant in making my reservation due to some of the unfavorable reviews. There were also a large number of more recent favorable reviews. Those are what sold me on making a reservation here for Valentine's Day. It was a great move! The atmosphere, service, appetizers, main course, and dessert were all wonderful and made for an outstanding evening. The price was a little high but certainly acceptable for a classy DC location. We can not wait to come back.
Went on Vday and service was great. We Arrived early before the crowds came in but service quality did not change one people arrived. Our waitress helped us lots with the menu and staff seemed genuine.
This remains one of our very favorite traditional restaurants in DC. The lunches are especially good value and the Italian food is really exceptional. We have always had fine service--the staff are always close by, but never intrusive.
This week we shared a wonderful mixed salad (certainly large enough for two), each had an entree (my strozzapreti was really delightful) and then shared the walnut cheesecake, which is the best dessert in DC, in our opinion.
Great service, delicious food. We were there on Valentine’s Day for lunch. It’s an old fashioned place that still feels fresh.
This was as close to being in Italy as I could ever imagine.
The food was superb and the service was outstanding.
We loved this experience, we used a living social coupon and everything was absolutely great.
Second time for lunch at this restaurant. We shared appetizers of calamari and prosciutto and melon. Both were delicious as was the foccacia bread. Service was very pleasant and the maitre'd also checked on us a couple of times. As a slow eater, I especially appreciated that the busman was obviously trained not to clear plates until all have finished. Pretty restaurant. For entrees we had ricotta stuffed pasta with sage butter sauce and rigatoni with a long cooked beef ragu. Both were very tasty - I was only able to eat a few bites but my husband had my leftovers for dinner and enjoyed them. My only criticism was that the pasta was a little tough. I think the sauces are house made but maybe not the pasta? This is a classical Italian restaurant, you don't have to endure small plate decisions or weird combinations of ingredients. Refreshing in this day and age! I'd go again in a flash.
Not thrilled with the pasta dish I ordered. Very dry.
We were there for restaurant week and found it more enjoyable.
Always a delight. From the warm greetings to the absolute delicious food, we love this place. After being pounded by weeks of a hectic workload, my husband and I felt renewed and refreshed from our visit there. And our waitress was the perfect bow to this gift of fine hospiltality.
Thank you I Ricchi
Until the next time!
Fabulous! The best in DC
The restaurant is a solid restaurant that serves a fairly good meal. I did not feel that I received very much pasta on my main dish but that was ok because the appetizer was substantial. The wine was a good value and it went well with the pasta dishes we had. The food is good. It’s not great, but good. The tables were packed and I’d suggest this restaurant if you want a family restaurant or night out with friends. Not too expensive, just right. I would try another Italian restaurant before I went back.
great service and staff.
Evan, the host, always makes it a personal priority to ensure everything goes right.
I Ricci continues to hold the top spot as my favorite DC restaurant. The food is always superb, the service unparalleled and the ambiance just perfect. Whether an intimate meal for two or a gathering of friends, the evening goes off without a hitch, executed beautifully by Ms. Ricci and her staff, all of whom deserve accolades. When you visit a restaurant in a major market and see the same faces year after year, it speaks volumes about the kind and caliber of business it is. We have found a home at I Ricci, and they never disappoint. I highly suggest a visit to taste what true Italian Provincial Cuisine is.
Enjoyed trying this restaurant out during Restaurant Week and am interested to try several dishes on the regular menu when we return. Good service, nice ambiance, and nice cocktail selections.
Nice experience. Kind staff, valet parking lively atmosphere.
As usual, I Ricci was spectacular. From first arrival to leaving, everything was magnificent!
Food was excellent, particularly the grilled scallops and shrimp on salad. Unfortunately the hazelnut cake had not yet fully defrosted and thus lacked its expected flavors. Devious was outstanding.
Always delicious food and great service. We arrived a little early for our reservation but they still sat us right away. Server is attentive but doesn’t interfere with enjoyment of meal.
I saw this place has the higher review from customer, decided to try it during the restaurant week's lunch. First, the greeting was very nice. Then they sent me to a window seat, but there was a large pot of plant and occupied some of my dining space. That was bothering me during the entire lunch experience. I had the mushroom soup. It was not well prepared. Felt like pour the veggie broth and put some mushroom into it. The main dish I tried was handmade spinach & egg pasta. It has the cheese sauce and top of parmesan, which was too salty. But the pasta was good. The last I had was cannoli, it was good. Not overly sweat.
