i Ricchi Ratings and Reviews
Everything about this place is authentic, beautiful, and the atmosphere is so friendly. It's like you're coming home to your traditional Italian family.
The only note I'd have (which is an incredibly small detail), it felt a little bit like our server wanted to coach us on how to tip because we were African-American with a Groupon. But we're also both Drs. So, we could have went without the "lesson".
That aside, this is my favorite Italian food in the area.
I started with the Caprese while my wife had the Scallops. Caprese was good, but Scallops were better. We both had the Lamb Chops. They were excellent. For desert, I had the Tiramisu and wife had the Strawberry Meringue. Both were very good, but Tiramisu was better.
Four of us enjoyed dinner at i Ricchi the other night and it was fantastic! The ambiance and service were wonderful and the food was outstanding! I ordered the lobster risotto special (one of many specials that evening) and it was definitely one of the best meals I have ever had! My husband chose the minestrone soup to start which was fresh and delicious. Everyone loved their meals and we sampled each other's food because it was all so good! I would highly recommend this restaurant!
We've been to I ricchi a few times in the recent past because we liked the food and service but will never return after this experience. The hostess was rude, and arrogant. And when I told the waiter there was no olive tapende on my trout as stated in menu and reason I ordered that dish, instead of taking it back he argued with me that it was there, I just didnt see it! The octopus salad I ordered for $19 was the biggest rip off. Octopus is not cavier. It is not an expensive fish. so for $19 and served on a tiny oval plate, buried in drippy lettuce, a few tomato slices and cucumbers there were a few, very few tiny pieces of octopus. a disgrace. Don't order that dish. The wine by the glass is very limited, with only overpriced, bad wine offered. There are many better Italian restaurants in Washington.
Another successful outing to I Ricci. The staff is well above par for the Washington restaurant scene, and the food is beyond compare. We never have anything but praise for the place. The food service and ambiance are wonderful and they always manage to meet any special requests we might have. They are extremely good about getting us out on time if we have to make a play or concert somewhere. I will continue to go to I Ricci as often as possible, because it is simply the best!
We would give a 100-star rating if we could! Delicious, beautiful food, and fabulous service! Looking forward to returning soon! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
When I was served my entree, I questioned why there was no arugula and tomato with the veal and the waiter said the vegetable changed all the time. Later it turned out I had been served the wrong dish, and only realized that when the bill charged an extra $8 over what I had ordered. It then took more that 25 minutes for the (waiter’s) mistake to be corrected on the bill. So, bottom line, because of the waiter’s incompetence, I didn’t get the dish I ordered (which I would have preferred) and we wasted a lot of time waiting for our correct bill. Management, aware of the problem, did nothing but say that the staff needed better training. This was our fourth visit to I Ricchi in recent years. Neither the food nor the service were up to previous standards. I doubt we will ever return.
This was our first time at i Ricchi. I wish we had discovered this gem a long time ago. We went for our wedding anniversary. The service was balanced and just right, the food was outstanding, and the overall experience was special. I have no constructive criticism, only grateful thanks for a great meal and a great memory. I would go back in a heartbeat, and we probably will.
I Ricchi provides authentic Italian cuisine with a Tuscan focus. I do not get there as often as I would like, but a friend from New York had an event at a nearby hotel, so I seized the opportunity.
We shared a lovely minestrone, as well as the taglierini with clams and zucchini. Both were wonderful, with lots of beautiful vegetables that were cooked sparingly. For our entree, we shared the mixed grill, with superb lamb and a great fennel sausage that outshone the usual ones one can get in a food store.
Our server was extremely knowledgeable, and appropriately opinionated. He guided me to an excellent Sicilian rose--if only I could remember its name!
Looking forward to my next visit.
Usually I Ricchi does not disappoint. Usually the waiters are very attentive and knowledgeable. This time was different, however. Our waiter seemed rushed and barely gave us time to look at the menu before he asked what we wanted. When we asked him if we could have bread he informed us that a couple of large groups were in the back and that this was unusual. Honestly I can be understanding to a point but I don't like the insinuation that I should be understanding while my waiter is more accommodating to other guests. Our business is just as valuable as theirs. We are also repeat customers. They recognize us every time we go. The food came quickly and was cooked well (I emphasized a very specific temperature for the veal) but he also asked us if we wanted our dessert to go. He offered to package it before we even ordered. The whole thing felt rushed. My boyfriend even said "you just want to turn em and burn em, right?" Disappointing experience at a restaurant that usually provides excellent service.
Excellent night at I Ricchi with absolute amazing food and service. From the fresh bread to the dessert this place knows how to wow a customer. We had delicious scallops with mushrooms and gnocchi and very tender, crispy calamari for our appetizer! The pasta was also cooked to perfection and the perfect portion size. I wasn’t overwhelmed with a heavy pasta that I can barely make a dent in. Lastly the dessert was one of the best desserts I have ever had! It was chilled, refreshing, and we cleaned the plate. Overall we experienced a great night with a beautiful atmosphere. The waitress was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. This place is excellent for a special occasion as well. I have been twice in a month! I will for sure be coming back!
