Anthony is our favorite waiter and of course we love the food!
We have been in Italian restaurants all over the world. This restaurant is at the top of the list. We have never had calamari fritti as tender and good as here. I had crabcakes which were magnificent and my wife had tortelloni which was fantastic and for dessert their special cheesecake which was wonderful. Carlos, our server was one of the most knowledgeable and conscientious and helpful waiters we have ever encountered. Their wine list is wonderful and the best part was an entire bottle of Pinot Grigio was very affordable.. A great experience! We’ll go again
Thought the service was on the arrogant side. Otherwise, food was very well prepared and presented. Prefer a more friendly ambience.
Great food, excellent service. Outdoor seating is a lot more relaxed than inside.
After recently moving to DC we wanted to try a new restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This place had good reviews but was not great. It was a pleasant evening, the mains were very nice but not worth the money. My husband had to ask twice for a beer and then said yes when offered some more bread specifically requesting some more focaccia. The bread was brought to the table but no focaccia so when we again asked for it the bread was taken away and nothing returned. The appetiser and deserts were ok. For the money, close to $200 for one appetiser, two mains and deserts, one beer and a bottle of wine, it was not a great evening, but was ok.
Great food- Great ambiance and great service A must visit in dc.
The restaurant continues its bait and switch games with Groupon. Many items have an $8 upcharge. Think twice before buying a their Groupon. Ate there 4/8/18. The food was excellent
Always have a wonderful time here. Food is very delicious.
The waiter was really tentative. We had deep fried calamari and meat balls for appetizers. Both are very delicious. The battery of calamari was light and fluffy. For entrees, we had filet mignon and trout. The filet was among the best I had, extremely tender, really high quality meat. The trout which is very good too. And the portions were generous. We had two deserts, cottage cheese cake which was as good as people said, and tiramisu, which was rather overpowered by cream like what you get in supermarkets.
I Ricci is, in my opinion, one of the best all around restaurants in Washington DC. Dining out is so much more than just the food. It is the presentation, service, ambiance and aura of the restaurant, all of which combine to deliver a memorable experience. I Ricci delivers on all components. As many times as I visit, I am still excited at the prospect of dining here. Not only is the food amazing, along with the service, but the staff, from Christianne Ricci, the owner, Spomenka and the management staff, Anastasia, my personal favorite, Eric at the bar and the Valet, Mark. All of the servers are exceptional, especially Carlos, our favorite server and another favorite.
I Ricci is so much more than just a restaurant, it is a culinary experience that all should take part in. Authentic Tuscan cuisine in a charming and realistic setting, reminiscent of a Tuscan villa. I will continue to go as often as I can, as I am never disappointed.
The salads were tasteless and the fish was overcooked to the point of being rubber. The rigatoni wasn't bad, but of the three of us no one enjoyed their meal.
Excellent staff and the food was amazing. I took advantage of a Groupon and very glad I did. Loved everything and will definitely be back!
Perfect location for a quiet business meeting. I arrived before my guest and they ensured they sat me in a quiet location near the front window so I could be sure to see him arrive.
Definitely a classy place with an air of quiet sophistication but not haughty.
Unbelievable dining experience. Great foods (actually ordered 2 plates of pappardelle pasta for myself). Service is top notch. Worth every penny!
The food is always spectacular. My favorite appetizer is the beat salad with goat cheese and my favorite entree is the thinly breaded veal over arugula.
The service is always top notch and the ambiance is lovely.
I have had a great experience at IRicchi in the past-- was very much looking forward to another great meal. While the food was still very good, the service was AWFUL!! Confusion with the order; server rolled her eyes multiple times; charged for a drink we never received. Disappointing experience and will not return.
i Ricchi is our go to place when we come to DC. We actually ate there two nights in a row, and love to bring friends there. Everything was freshly prepared and the right temperature. The service at the bar and at tables was equally professional and courteous with great timing and élan. Love it, can you tell?
Took 5 colleagues for business dinner. Decent food, appallingly rude service. Condescending, brusque, high sell waiters who constantly interrupted conversation. After we finished two courses and two bottles of wine, a team of service people aggressively cleared all dishes (whether you were finished or not) and then stood by with the owner staring at the table to indicate they were ready to go home. We hadn't ordered dessert and it wasn't even 9 PM. Who needs this kind of poor treatment? Go to one of the many nice places with excellent Italian cuisine like Centrolina or Il Tiramisu.
Only the best restaurant in DC. Excellent staff, delicious food and a great ambiance combine to deliver a most memorable experience.
outstanding in every way AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA+++++++++++++++++++++++++
I Ricchi serves consistently excellent food in a pretty but not pretentious space. The service is impeccable and never overly solicitous. Several dishes are classic: don’t miss the rigatoni stracciacatti.
Very good choice for our first night in Washington. The food was excellent and the service was very good.
Thank you for a lovely evening.
After securing my reservation for five with a $250 deposit, I contacted the restaurant to inform them that we were traveling from out of town and would be a few minutes late due to traffic. They replied that they would not honor the reservation beyond 15 minutes. Despite arriving on time, it became clear that we would be rushed through our meal. We were asked to order almost immediately after receiving menus. Our appetizers and salad course were brought together to save time. I selected a bottle of Brunello and was brought a Barbaresco which the waiter indicated to me was the same wine. Other than the pasta, the food was ordinary to below average. And after my daughter pointed out that they seemed to be pushing the bottled water, I was charged $50 for five bottles. I will not be eating at i Ricchi again.
Excellent service, ambience and food... will definitely go back again. Ask for Jose... he is the best!!
Service and food were great. Ambiance is lacking...too tight, too much light...not close to being intimate.
Fabulous food, friendly service, lovely atmosphere.
It is truly authentic Italian cooking with a flair, and just enough variety.
Easy to find vegetarian options. Kitchen is amenable to making requested adaptations.
The sides are as good as their appetizers. I always feel like I get good value.
It's one of DC's gems.
Great evening! Fabulous food and superb service.
We had a very poor experience. The food was only so-so and very expensive. The service was rushed and inattentive. When I complained to the manager as we left , she was rude. Washington has many good restaurants. I Ricchi is not one of them.
Classic Tuscan at it's best. Everything was amazing!
This service and experience is more about up-selling from the moment we walked in the door and did not feel genuine. We were rushed through the entire dinner and the staff interrupted our conversations frequently to bus the table and move our dinner along. Very disappointed we chose this restaurant, based on the reviews we read, over all the other excellent places in DC.
The restaurant is always consistently very good. Fresh pasta, fresh sauces and really great pairing of wines are some of many features of this jewel in the DC crown. Highly recommended and wonderful staff!
By far, our favorite DC restaurant. We go so often, we don't need menus, and are greeted warmly by all the staff, management and ownership. It's nice to have a place to take out of town guests to, where you don't have to worry about a thing. The food is always exceptional, flavorful, attractively presented and authentic for Tuscan Cuisine. They have a great wine list and the cocktails from the bar are top shelf. If I haven't mentioned it in previous reviews, the bread basket is amazing. All of the pasta is home made and wonderful, and the meats, seafood and poultry all of the utmost quality. Deserts are delicious and different from what you find at most Italian restaurants, but even those that are the norm, such as Tiramisu and Cannoli, are exceptional. It's a must try for anyone who hasn't yet been.
An enjoyable night and wonderful service except that they threw away my take-home which was not cool. The food was good but not excellent.
Delicious pasta, appetizers, bread. Personal professional service.
Valentines Day.
Great food. The food took forever to come out, but I think that was due to it being Valentines day.
ıt was the worst place ever ı go ın Washıngton DC
Service was very slow
food was really bad I did not eat anything
First they bring me check for $245.98 after I complain they reduce it to $129.87
Don't go ever to this place
Very disapointing diner. Ok it was Valentine’s Day which is probably not the best time to eat out since Resteraunt’s are busy but this was a bust. Mushroom soup had to be returned as it was basically thin vegetable consomee and not a good one, followed by a lobster rissoto with specs of lobster which was ok but lacking the principal ingredient followed by a lamb chop and rib dinner which had to be returned as way over cooked. The replacement was great but 2 out of 4 courses no good at first is a record. My date had the pasta vongole which consisted of a handful of clams and the rest canned. A very poor showing for this once great Resteraunt.
I was a little hesitant in making my reservation due to some of the unfavorable reviews. There were also a large number of more recent favorable reviews. Those are what sold me on making a reservation here for Valentine's Day. It was a great move! The atmosphere, service, appetizers, main course, and dessert were all wonderful and made for an outstanding evening. The price was a little high but certainly acceptable for a classy DC location. We can not wait to come back.
Went on Vday and service was great. We Arrived early before the crowds came in but service quality did not change one people arrived. Our waitress helped us lots with the menu and staff seemed genuine.
