A lovely lunch with terrific food and service. All four of us left happy!
Excellent service. Tables a bit cramped. Food is solid but nothing special - feels a bit stale.
We had great service and the food was excellent! We will be back.
We were promptly seated in a quiet area, where we could talk. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and attentive. The fried calamari we’re delicious. I especially liked the house salad, which included kale, other greens, and tasty roasted grapes. The house- made fresh pasta was excellent— my spinach and ricotta ravioli with sage butter and my husband’s squid ink gemelli with sausage and tomato sauce. It was a great meal, but a bit pricy. Not sure if we will return.
We made an early reservation for three and were escorted the the last table in the back room of the restaurant but there were many tables free out front.
We were done before eight.
We choose the valentine's 4 coarse meal for $89 a piece and it was not good . For starters the bread that was brought out was not fresh and the main coarse flounder was very dry as if it was cook earlier in the day then reheated. It was me and my wife's 1st Valentine's day married and I felt cheated. It was late so we left before desert.
I Ricchi is our favorite high-end restaurant. Our only issue during our last meal was our waiter wasn’t the nicest guy. He tried to strong arm us into buying a $150 bottle of wine. I’m never a fan when waitstaff do so. Some say it’s good salesmanship, I find it obnoxious. Especially when the waiter cops an attitude when we don’t bite. But, it won’t stop us from going back.
I took my GF out for Valentines Day dinner. Neither one of us had ever been there before, so we weren’t sure what to expect. It was great food, great service. A bit pricey to be honest, so plan ahead. But well worth it for sure. Service was spot on, which for me is essential. Great time!
We went for Valentine’s Dinner, and ordered the $89 four-course Special menu. We waited one hour between the appetizer and second course, which arrived as we were informing the Maitre D’ of our decision to leave, as our evening had been ruined. They still had the audacity to charge us $35/ person, for the privilege of having an appetizer and glass of wine.
The food was amazing, truly amazing! We went on Valentines night so the customer service was a bit slow, but understandable. Looking forward to returning during a time that isn't quite as busy!
We dined at i Ricchi for Valentine's Day. But, it was a very busy night, quite noisy, and cold air blew through the restaurant area. As a result, most of the food was barely warm or looked like it had been sitting for awhile. I ordered from the Valentine's menu but the dishes themselves were just "okay." High notes? The breadbasket, with oil and vinegar, contained a wide variety of delicious choices. Lamb Chops were well prepared and delicious. As was dessert (Tiramisu.) Polenta with mushrooms appetizer? A bit plain with very little sauce. My husband ordered from the regular menu, but the pasta (pasta with sausage) was cold and simply uninspired. As was his mushroom / vegetable soup. We really appreciated our waiter's efforts to be attentive.Other staff were likewise friendly and helpful. The dining room was breathtaking, candle lit, and beautiful! Indeed, there's no doubt that this is a Washington DC gem of a restaurant. While i Ricchi fell short of expectations this time, we hope to return when it's not so crazy.
Really enjoyed Valentine Dinnw fixed price choices were all greatest
Loved the entire experience especially including being able to talk at a normal conversational volume. Food was delicious, service was friendly and times well, and warm ambiance all made our dinner just what we'd hoped it would be. Thank you.
First let me say this place should be treasured. The staff and cooks went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. We were greeted at the door our coats were taken by the amazingly nice staff. The FOOD was amazing; the lobster risotto was so good I wanted to take the dish home with me! Great job, such a classy and lovely Valentines day dinner. I would highly recommend this place and I will be back- Maggie
While the valentines menu was pricey, it was a wonderful 4 course meal. Service was excellent! Location was very accessible. 0 complaints, would absolutely go again.
Outstanding food and service as usual. Always a wonderful treat
Always good good-- Semifreddo dessert is fabulous!
Excellent service and ambience! We loved the lunch.
The food tends to be a bit on the salty side.
Great food and service.
Truly a great dining experience! Our server was fantastic and very knowledgeable about the menu. He was engaging and it was very apparent he enjoyed what he was doing there. Will definitely be going back!
Anthony was an excellent server who I have had before. Food was good. A nice experience.
The food quality is good, however I noticed that the portions are getting smaller - was a simple spaghetti dish, you would think that they'd even give you a little extra, I had to satiate on some extra bread . The other problem was that they accepted our reservations for 5:30 pm but had to wait 20 minutes after we had arrived exactly on time because they were not seating anyone at that time. Good food but a little quirky with the procedures.
This is my go-to favorite restaurant in DC, hands down. Best service, food & atmosphere in town.
I visited here with a Groupon like most do. The service was efficient and friendly, and they were generally helpful about saying what items would have an upcharge and making recommendations. The food was tasty and the complimentary bread was very good! The space was cozy and classic, I liked being able to hear myself and not be on top of other tables, but the decor could probably use an update. The only hiccup was that the Groupon said the deal included the risotto of the day, and when the server introduced the specials of the day, he said they were included with the Groupon. However, I tried to order the risotto and then the waiter said there was a supplemental charge, which was odd as many more expensive items were included. That was a little disappointing, but I did like the sea bass that I went with instead. Overall a very good experience!
Wonderful authentic Italian restaurant with great people running it. A favorite place to dine for special occasions.
Wonderful. I will gladly come back
My friends and I came for a reunion and all of us were pleased with our meals, the excellent and even entertaining service. The sea bass was succulent and the beans and compote that accompanied it were delicious. The chocolate mousse was heavenly.
Amazing food and welcoming atmosphere. Great drink menu
Our server was attentive and kind. The food was good but not extraordinary and the portions were small for the price. Perhaps they were sized smaller for restaurant week. That being said, the tiramisu was excellent and complimentary valet parking is very accommodating. Overall it was a good experience and we enjoyed ourselves, however, we didn’t feel the value was worth the price tag in our initial visit.
Food was overpriced and not that good. Server/busser refilled water every 3 minutes. Tables were too close together and I could hear all the conversations but my own. Will not be returning.
The restaurant week menu was weak. Typically restaurants go above and beyond with their menu selections but it feels like i Ricchi did the bare minimum. The portion sizes were so small and the food wasn’t all that great.
Considering that it was restaurant week, we had excellent service. The mushroom soup and pasta were excellent!
At first, our server was not very attentive. This was remedied without me saying a thing. Very nice man, but never gave us his name. First course of meatballs and polenta was cold, second of chicken Parmesan was very hot. The ambiance of this restaurant has changed for the worse. Although the were nicely dressed, many tables had guests in torn jeans a flannel shirts. This is too expensive to sit next to tables full of people who think they’re at McDonalds.
Restaurant week. Waiter was perfect!
This visit did not live up to my previous experience. It was restaurant week and crowded so also noisy. The menu for restaurant week was not inspired. I asked the waiter for a recommendation and he steered me to the chicken cacciatore. It was OK. I will be back, though, because I know they can do better.
We ordered a side of spaghetti w/ tomato sauce to complement our entrees. The waiter said he forgot to put the order in. When the spaghetti finally came out, we were nearly finished with our entrees. We thought the waiter would take it off the bill, but he didn't.
We went for winter restaurant week. The food was outstanding and so was the service. This is an excellent "date night" place.
We had a great time and highly recommend this restaurant (thanks, Said!). The service was great and the food is the best Italian in Washington. Our only quibble was that the food came out way too fast. Other than that, a great experience!
