My friends and I came for a reunion and all of us were pleased with our meals, the excellent and even entertaining service. The sea bass was succulent and the beans and compote that accompanied it were delicious. The chocolate mousse was heavenly.
Our server was attentive and kind. The food was good but not extraordinary and the portions were small for the price. Perhaps they were sized smaller for restaurant week. That being said, the tiramisu was excellent and complimentary valet parking is very accommodating. Overall it was a good experience and we enjoyed ourselves, however, we didn’t feel the value was worth the price tag in our initial visit.
The restaurant week menu was weak. Typically restaurants go above and beyond with their menu selections but it feels like i Ricchi did the bare minimum. The portion sizes were so small and the food wasn’t all that great.
Considering that it was restaurant week, we had excellent service. The mushroom soup and pasta were excellent!
At first, our server was not very attentive. This was remedied without me saying a thing. Very nice man, but never gave us his name. First course of meatballs and polenta was cold, second of chicken Parmesan was very hot. The ambiance of this restaurant has changed for the worse. Although the were nicely dressed, many tables had guests in torn jeans a flannel shirts. This is too expensive to sit next to tables full of people who think they’re at McDonalds.
Restaurant week. Waiter was perfect!
This visit did not live up to my previous experience. It was restaurant week and crowded so also noisy. The menu for restaurant week was not inspired. I asked the waiter for a recommendation and he steered me to the chicken cacciatore. It was OK. I will be back, though, because I know they can do better.
We ordered a side of spaghetti w/ tomato sauce to complement our entrees. The waiter said he forgot to put the order in. When the spaghetti finally came out, we were nearly finished with our entrees. We thought the waiter would take it off the bill, but he didn't.
We went for winter restaurant week. The food was outstanding and so was the service. This is an excellent "date night" place.
We had a great time and highly recommend this restaurant (thanks, Said!). The service was great and the food is the best Italian in Washington. Our only quibble was that the food came out way too fast. Other than that, a great experience!
Fabulous Tuscan food and atmosphere, great service.
I Ricchi is always excellent all around - food, service and ambiance.
I would return for the octopus salad. The service was very rushed, despite our having told the waiter that we were in no hurry. We had drinks, two courses and coffee, and were out in 1 hour. Also, be cautioned about the chairs. They are incredibly uncomfortable.
Excellent food, ambience and service. Very friendly and accommodating to special requests.
The dinner and service were very good.
Understanding it was New Years Eve the large, noisy crowd was expected. However having informed the restaurant when I made reservations that it was also my wife’s birthday I was expecting a sitting arrangement other than in a corner against a wall. No offer of anything special for my wife. Waitor (Alex) was challenged throughout the evening to meet modest requests for extra wine, etc in a timely matter. The food was excellent but service focus was not.
My dad and I were in DC for the Military Bowl and were celebrating a Carolina victory. Our waiter, Carlos, was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. His recommendations were spot on. The homemade pasta was exceptional and the desserts were worth every calorie! We both plan to return.
Food is fresh, well prepared, and beautifully presented. What a joy!
Superb service, great food and ambiance.
iRicchi is a pleasingly comfortable venue true to its Tuscan roots. We love this place! We enjoy the bar and the atmosphere in the dining room each time we visit. Christianne's presence enhances the ambiance with friendliness and expertise. The menu is broad enough to meet our needs whatever our resolutions and the Tuscan food always a pleasure. It is a good value compared to other DC restaurants. Valet parking makes it an easy Dupont Circle destination. Go there; we recommend it without hesitation.
Delicious food, exceptional service. Our waiter, Said, was wonderful! If you have the good fortune of having him as your waiter, make sure you consider his recommendations.
We had a lovely time! Thank you.
Great environment for a business meal with a staff that is very accommodating and food that is a delight to the pallet.
The food was excellent and of exceptional value especially if you join the Women's Club and eat on Tuesdays. My server Angie/Angela was particularly knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations. Luv her!
I have been dining here whenever I am in town on business and wanted to bring my wife during her first trip to DC. Our meal was excellent and our server Carlos was perfect.
Wonderful dining experience. Great food excellent service. Our waiter Said was very helpful and definitely enhanced the experience. After dinner, he introduced us to the owner with whom we had an enjoyable and engaging conversation for about 10 minutes. Will definitely be on my list for dinner plan next time I am in Washington DC.
Excellent food and service. I can't wait to return.
I was really expecting a much better experience. While the ambiance was nice, service was really good and the food was flavorful we were very disappointed with the portions of the dishes...especially the lamb chops (just 2 small pieces) and the corvina. I've got no problem paying more to enjoy a night out at a higher end restaurant but when all 4 of us left hungry, it was clearly a problem.
The food was not up to the quality we were used to. The bronzino was dry and the risotto was not seasoned property
Excellent, as always! i Ricchi is a superb restaurant that NEVER fails. The owner is almost always present and nothing misses her attention.
Host didn’t get my note on reservation. She sat us on table but I wanted bar. I thought bar is reserved something like that. But when I asked to server he helped us gently to move to the bar. Bartender did amazing job a professional gentleman! I lived Italy for a while but never had shrimp risotto like that. Bread was like salty cake not crispy. And disaster was risotto! I ordered spinach shrimp risotto ($25-30) 4 piece of shrimp, spinach sauce butter and rice. That’s it:) I’ll never think to come back. Don’t believe that they know what risotto is.
Best food and ambiance in DC!
As always, everything was excellent. The waiter was very attentive and made good suggestions.
The food was superb.
Getting water without ice took an enormous amount of time. I was about to ask our server where was the glass of water (first glass had ice and my boss requested it without ice - tap water) and it finally arrived. I think my glass and my sister’s were filled at least once or more before the iceless glass of water came. And, the bread did not come out until about a minute before the meal was served.
My sister’s chicken dish looked dry (poor cutlet looked like it was hacked to as thin as a sheet of paper)and the few roasted vegetables made the dish look paltry. She said it was dry and the 4 pieces of vegetables wasn’t enjoyable. My boss seemed to enjoy her scallop salad, and my risotto special was great. We had cappuccinos, cheesecake, and cannolis. All fantastic. The food was delivered in a prompt manner even though it seemed busy.
I think the waiter was fine, cordial and prompt. It was the person who brings the water (or doesn’t ) and bread, that was slow. Restaurant noise was minimal and it was clean.
I have eaten several times here over the years and this is the first time this was experienced. One of our servers was not doing a good job, and this rating is partially based on this recent visit.
Frankly was disappointed. Nothing special. Our waitress was hard to understand and we had one miscommunication that resulted in a missed order. Probably won’t be back.
A very pleasant meal for two at I Ricchi. Our waiter was excellent, making suggestions without 'upsetting.' The food was very good. The wine by the glass was average, and not great value. The noise level was acceptable for carrying on dinner conversation. Overall, very good.
The breadth of the selections, the preparation, presentation, and service were all excellent.
Excellent service and ambiance as always. Truly wonderful food. A little too busy to be flexible and accommodate request for substitute sides with entre. We will keep returning over and again.
Had the pleasure of enjoying our dinner in the excellent care of bartender Eric. Great service, fun conversation, delicious food. We look forward to our next visit!
Absolute great service and the food was outstanding. Would definitely come back again.
A lovely night out. If you want great service, amazing food, and an engaging, romantic setting, this is the place.
