Great food . Pompous and obnoxious waiter
Very good food. Service was adequate. Was unnecessarily rushed through dinner.
Food and service was amazing
We attend every time we are in DC. Always great food and service!
If you love authentic Tuscan food I Ricchi is the place. Beautiful ambience. Staff is exceptional, attuned to your needs and their presence is understated. Well worth your time to explore this gem of a restaurant.
Excellent food and service - we have been going to I Ricchi for more than 25 years, and it is always a great experience.
Great food and service
We loved our waiter Lou. Great experience. Great food. Hadn't been there in several years and its still a great dining experience.
Been coming to I Ricchi since the late 90’s.
We have not been back to I Ricci for sometime but were not disappointed by our latest visit, on this occasion for dinner. Our service was superb and our server (Mr. Commodore) very knowledgable. We enjoyed excellent pasta dishes that reminded us of the wonderful pastas we enjoyed during seven years’ residence in Italy. And the tiramisu remains Washington’s best. We’ll be back again!
The people there are great! Always fantastic! Food is excellent.
Zucchini had excellent char flavor in burratta appetizer
We have been coming to this restaurant from time to time over the long period of time. We love their
homemade pasta, perfectly cooked aldente . Menu item is very authentic and service is excellent.
This is most underappreciated restaurant in DC and I hope many more people come there and appreciate this place. Their deserts are all home made and very tasty.
I highly recommend this place.
Wonderful meal and attentive service!
I though my fish disk was a bit tasteless. I think more favor in the sauce would have helped.
We hadn’t been here in a while, and after dinner, we wondered why we had stayed away so long. The house made pastas were wonderful, as was the house made sausage. The sauces were perfect as well. Our waiter, Lou, was the best, professional, knowledgeable and very friendly, making the experience even better. Last, but not least, the tiramisu was the best I’ve ever had.
Tom Sietsema of the Washington Post was right to include i Ricchi in recent lists of favorites in the DC area. We have been for special events and dinners for two. The food and service are always excellent. We will continue to dine at i Ricchi regularly.
An excellent experience. Overall food, ambience, and service was outstanding.
Lu was very good. The appetizers were good, barrata and the mushrooms. The fish had a few bones in it. The tortellino was very good.
Nice restaurant to be except the fact food was too salty. Saltiness kills flavor.
Excellent as always our favorite DC authentic Italian escape. Always reminds us of being in Italy on vacation. Food service atmosphere are superb. We had the special Zappa de pesce and salmon. Both excellent and delicious. We have never been disappointed here. Christina and her staff are the best. Highly recommend. Enjoy.
All around wonderful experience.
I Ricchi is a lovely, classic Tuscan Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown DC. The owner and executive chef Chris Ricchi cares deeply about her restaurant, the quality of her food and wine, and her guests.
I have the lamb chops and broccoli rabe for my meal. They were tasty and done perfectly. I would recommend this place to anyone.
We were in Tuscany just a few months ago and this was every bit as good as anything we had on our trip. Just an outstanding restaurant!!
I used to avoid I Ricchi at all costs due to a snobby and less than gracious hostess I en ountered over several visits. She was, in fact, downright rude. I Ricchi has now become one of my favorite restaurants. I returned after avoiding this place for a few years and have found the service to be extraordinary, the food outstanding...overall a very delightful place. I am so pleased I was coaxed to giving it another try.
Awesome service!! Wine and food as well
Very nice dinner, but some of the food was disappointing. The veal Milanese was a bit salty and was just OK. And one person was disappointed with their Bronzino. We had calamari and wild mushroom appetizers, both of which were excellent.
Unfortunately, it was the time of the cherry blossoms and the restaurant had overbooked for 7:15-7-30 seating, so we had to wait for our table, even though there was a two-top open when we arrived. The hostess was curt and told us to wait, even though, as I said, there clearly was a table available.
The server was very apologetic - unlike the hostess - and the food was good.
Our server, Carlos, made the evening. His impeccable service attended to every detail. He never interrupted or intruded, but he managed to anticipate our requests. He made fine recommendations, too. My dear friend and I were able to eat beautifully prepared food while really talking. It was well lit, but not glaring. It was busy, but not loud. The food was classic, and updated, not trendy and weird. We absolutely will be back. Thank you, I Ricchi!
I DO NOT GIVE PERMISSION FOR MY NAME OR ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION TO BE USED
Food was amazing and the service was outstanding, highly recommend!
Lu, our server, did an outstanding job! He is the best!!!
Food is fabulous, had scallops salad, homemade pasta, lamb chop and tiramisu; bread is also superior.
This was our first visit, but will not be our last. This is such a comfortable setting, with attentive staff. We received excellent recommendations for both food and wine. Each item ordered was perfectly prepared and presented. Really an outstanding experience.
Sayiid--need I say more? He is making a name for this restaurant. The rudest meanest most insulting and condescending waiter we have encountered in 30 years of fine dining. If the wine bottle had not been opened we would have left. The four of us (one daughter lives in DC; the other in Manhattan) determined not to let him ruin our evening and mostly succeeded but we will never return. He sneered when our daughter inquired about gnocchi (none; yet later we saw it on the menu); he served the lamb RAW when my husband ordered it medium well (despite his recommendation for medium--seems like punishment). My husband did not send it back for more heat, leery of further punishment from the kitchen. Apparently, the problem is a dislike for tourists who don't tip and I note most bad reviews (including Sayiid by name) are from Groupon or deal holders but we were not. We tipped the standard 20% anyway but none of the four of us will ever return. Unfortunately, it was my idea to go there, having been many years ago when the restaurant first opened and it was wonderful. Certainly not the same (food was good except the raw lamb; service was good except for the insulting behavior of the waiter, which did gradually improve; ambiance lacking in open noisy room). My cousin who lives in Bethesda said he does eat there but ensures through the manager that he will not be served by Sayiid and one other waiter whose name escapes me. Is that any way to run a restaurant? No.
There were 4 of us who went out to celebrate a birthday. We always enjoy iRicchi and did Sat night as well. We let them know we were celebrating a special occasion and lastly the bartender Eric seemed out of sorts and grumpy. Overall we had a great evening and will definitely go back...but a little fine tuning might be needed.
Our first time & we were truly impressed. We loved our meal, the appetizers, salad Capri & fried calamari, both unusually delicious, my veal Milanese was divine & my husband had home made pappardelle with rabbit sauce, sublime. We will definitely go back!
My wife and I split three excellent dishes, and the restaurant was gracious to do so. We began with the buratta, which had grilled zucchini as a side. We followed with the tortellini with sage butter, which was excellent. Lastly we split the pan fried veal chop, which managed to be crispy yet still moist. We splurged on the tiramisu and cheesecake. We dined early, so we had the bar to ourselves at 6 on a Friday for a before dinner drink. They moved us to our table at reservation time at 6:15. Service was spot on. The restaurant was mostly full when we left around 7:45.
Great experience and food. Our waitress was outstanding. You knew the menu well and offered excellent suggestions. I will certainly return.
Cozy setting. Pasta excellent as was squid starter. Other dishes so so. Fish special had little flavor. Very noisy party of 20 people hung at bar for 45 minutes making it almost impossible to talk in the main dining room. Service warm and welcoming.
