   My expectations of what a 22 ounce $129 prime porterhouse steak would be were not at all met here. I have dined at great steakhouse all over the US. Based on that, I expected a thick, tender, juicy, marbled steak that could almost be cut with a butter knife. This was not that. It was a thin (1/4”) steak (like one you would get at breakfast) that had to be sawed with a knife to be cut. No juices on the plate. It also had a lot of gristle. Service was ambivalent and inattentive. No one asked how the food was. I should have sent it back and not eaten it, but I didn’t. That was my mistake.

   Steaks were on the drier side. Prior experiences saw better steaks - juicier and softer. Creamed corn, oysters, crab cake and Caesar salad were good but as a steakhouse, we did expect the steaks to be better than what we’d get at restaurants that serve a range of dishes as well as steaks. Service was good with just one mistake on a customer order. Overall, it was a disappointment.

   A very warm greeting as we entered and was maintained during our stay. Christopher served us with a friendly and informative manner and was able to suggest menu selections to assist us. The food was excellent as was the wine selection. Hy’s has a wonderful ambience that seemed to make us feel very comfortable and relaxed. The Grill room is a sight to behold too. Overall, we had a lovely meal in lovely surroundings and would definitely go back.

   Hy's restaurant has the best dimly lit, old world steakhouse kinda feel that you will love. Their cheese toast and the best Ceasar salad on the planet are all you need to know to start your dinner experience! My girlfriend and I shared a fillet steak and lobster tail for dinner with the amazing creamed spinach and a baked potato. Our waiter was attentive and very helpful with the wine list. He allowed us to pace our dinner so we could relax, enjoy and take in every course of our date meal. Definitely returning again soon!!!

   Always a great experience at Hy’s. I met a client for lunch and received great service the moment I walked in the door. All the staff was fantastic but special recognition to Gerri who is always wonderful, attentive, professional & kind. A very nice meal and wonderful service. Worth every penny thank-you!!
