Hyperion Public - Silver Lake Ratings and Reviews
I’ve been wanting to come here for awhile and it didn’t disappoint! I went on a Wednesday night for dinner in the restaurant portion. It was relatively empty, not too noisy and service was good. I can’t say enough about the food! Lots of great options on the menu.... I ended up choosing the truffle Mac and cheese and garlicky beans it was delicious... I will definitely be going back to try other menu options !
We were told that we have to wait fir an hr as their kitchen is back up ! After waiting for an hr we were told that maybe another 30 to 40 minutes wait as there are 20 people ahead of us ! After editing for another 30 minutes we were told that it should be coming any time then another waitress comes and we were told maybe around 30-40 more minutes !!!
I think we waited enough !! What a sad experience !! They should have not entertained client if they have a problem in the kitchen !!
This has been on my list for sometime so had a fiend in town and tried it on Saturday evening. Menu has a lot of variety from healthy to super comfort food (the pretzel was awesome - also enjoyed the shrimp and grits). You could have a burger or a nice piece of fish and the service was quite good. Valet service right past the restaurant - was $6 and very convenient. Will be back to continue my way down the menu as there are so many yummy items to choose from.
A little disappointed because Hyperion did not look like the photos. I had a party of four with reservations for a 11:30 brunch.
From the photos, I assumed that the establishment would be brightly lit, but it was pretty dark inside. They used very low lit lamps and the room that was open faces east, so not a lot of light came it.
Food was alright. The menu has changed since. They no longer have the various options of bottomless mimosas or croque madames.. which were highlights onto why I booked this place. My party ordered a deluxe breakfast sandwich, their burger, chicken sandwich, saucy fries and fried avocado. Other than the burger, I tried everything mentioned and the food was just alright. The brioche buns we're overkill and was too much for the breakfast sandwich. The chicken in the chicken sandwich was burnt. The avocado fries, although pretty good, were too small for it's price. And the fries were pretty much dressed in cheese whizz.
Though food and ambiance we're not it's finest, the customer service was great. The two staffed were amazingly friendly. One had confirmed that we did have a reservation and informed us how open table works. I had not checked in with them and was told by the server that I should check-in or OT would restrict my acct if I made it a habit (in a polite way.)
Overall great place it's friendly people and good food. One problem was folks seated at the open air tables were smoking and that flowed back into where the hostess wanted to seat us. When we mentioned the restaurant had a smoking deck, there was attitude despite the place being uncrowded. The lounge was open and great but dark. Cocktail was light for an old fashioned. And yet the service in the lounge was fantastic and warm. The vegan options were appreciated and good. So only a 1 star down grade.
Service was okay. Food was okay, not great. Pretty slow, overly priced, crammed quarters. Ordered drinks right away but didn’t get them until our entrées arrived. Was told they were Using a new system and that’s why it was taking so long, Completely understand. Regardless of that we were definitely left unattended for much longer than acceptable. Employees were nice, Seems like a management issue. Will most likely not return or recommend.
Their appetizer selection was unique and hard to make a choice! My next visit I think I'd stick with a variety of app's - definitely the highlight. The best part of the meal was the chicken wings with a fantastic crust (gluten free) and blueberry sauce. In understand the avocado fries were great as well but I could not try them since they were panko crusted. They had a wide variety of cocktails and it sounded like they have some fun weekly events (margarita night etc.) which I would definitely check out if I lived in the area. We loved our server - super friendly and helpful with the menu and bar choices.
We made reservations for 5:30pm. We were seated right away for our party of 6. However we waited 20 to 30 minutes for our food with two young kids in tow. There were only two other visible groups in our dining area that sat down after us. They got they're food before us. My son didn't like the taste of his kid hamburgers, the regular wings were just OK and the lettuce wraps were average. Too bad since this place is walking distance from my mom's house.
Decided to dine at the Silver lake location before a concert at the Greek Theatre. I had a reservation but arrived 30 minutes early and was seated right away. My party ordered the Hyperion Burger, Crispy Shrimp Taco's and The Cali , we also shared the Avocado Fries. We didn't have to wait long for our order our entrée s came 15-20 min. after our appetizer. The presentation of the food was excellent and we were all very pleased with our order. Our server was great. Very attentive. The atmosphere was good but the place is rather small and the tables are placed close together. Street parking is very limited so I would valet park or take Uber. I would definitely eat here again.
The CWA sandwich was fabulous! It had just the right amount of spiciness to it! The next time I'm there, I'd like to try the Brussel Sprouts Cobb salad. My friend had the salad and she loved it!
Our server (who's name I forgot unfortuntely) was super personable and had great suggestions for us. We'll definitely be back!
The manager yelled at me that Open Table wasn't working and no one was leaving after eating, even though I had a reservation. I finally said "WHY ARE YOU YELLING AT ME?" and he said "I'M NOT YELLING; I'VE JUST BEEN RUNNING AROUND!" He told us to go to another restaurant. Pretty much a horrible experience.
We went on a Tuesday night date. Wanted a scene, yet intimate setting. Worked out well... it even started raining on us, we sat out in patio area. We didn't get wet due to bamboo top, but still felt rain (romantic part)
The only reason I rated lower was bc we ordered wings, but never got them.
No biggie. Otherwise cool spot.
Too noisy and too dark. Made me feel old and I'm not. Food was over sauced. Shrimp n grits is lovely just as is however they added some salty sausage and BBQ sauce that ruined the purity of the shrimp n grits. Then they topped it off with stale fried onions that probably came from a can. Disappointing fish dish as well. Undercooked bok choy that was very rough to eat and again way too much sauce. Lettuce cups were nice though but all the food came way too fast ...they didn't take away our small plates before trying to cram our entree dishes onto the table. However our waiter was very sweet and attentive I've been here before with much better experiences. Too salty, saucy, and dark this time. Oh well. Thanks anyways
Stopped before heading to the Greek and we ordered the pretzel, warm spicy nuts, fried chicken sandwich with bacon coleslaw (AMAZING), pesto flat bread and a juicy yummy burger! The homemade potato chips were delish and warm and the fries even better! Also GREAT old fashioned for 6.00 on happy hour, that never happens!
I got the burger and mac n cheese and found it very underwhelming. For a $16 burger and $15 mac n cheese, I could've done much much better elsewhere. I hate bashing restaurants, but high priced bland food, combined with having practically no service, I wouldn't come back.
But try it for yourself, everyone has their own views.
Although we had reservations for dinner, we stayed in the bar for Happy Hour food and drink. Everything we had was really good, and we shared at least five things. No Chardonnay on HH prices, only draw back. Waitress was so fun and helped with everything. We'll definitely go back. Maybe actually have dinner.
