Farm-to-Table Dining with Just a Little More…
Enjoy dining in at The Hyde Away Inn. Our talented kitchen staff carefully prepare New American cuisine. We have worked hard over the years to make our restaurant the kind of place that we would enjoy. Great food. The freshest ingredients.
In addition to our regular menu, we have a wonderful wine list and Micro-Brews from Vermont on tap. We welcome all well behaved children. The atmosphere is comfortable and unpretentious — just how we know you’ll like it. Enjoy our comfortable dining room. Eat on our outdoor deck & patio in the warmer months or in the Tavern.

Just a great place to visit. Been going there on and of when we travel up to Vermont.
The food was very good and our waiter very friendly. Great variety. Great place to go while on Sugarbush.
good stuff. We would deff go back again. thanks for a good time.
Always a great option, great food selection, friendly staff and great ambiance. Cannot go wrong.
Great place. I haven't been here in over 15 years, but it is just as good of not better than I remember. Awesome menu, great for all taste buds, and the kids too. Definitely recommend for a true Vermont experience. Wish I could eat there every week! So happy it is still there.
Out of multiple menu items. Little kids racing around.
We were able to get a late reservation on a recent Friday night, the place was packed. The food was very good however it didn’t come for well over an hour and the waitress was no where to be found and when she came she had no answers. We felt she was trying to avoid eye contact and running past. She can’t do much we get it, and what a terrible position to put your staff in. Maybe bring us some bread, take a couple drinks off? Recommend going earlier in the night before the kitchen is backed up. They have a great fireplace area to sit and have a drink. We’ll try it again because the food was worth it.
Everything was great I loved my meal which was a shrimp and pasta dish. I have one complaint and that was the wine pour it was a $9 glass which is reasonable but it was 4oz if that.
Bar 100% full to have a decent Happy Hour beforehand to Chat with ‘like folks’. We were a table for 2 and they were ready for to seat us when we arrived Earlier than reserved. Food was good enough for the price. The place is convenient to Sugarbush Mt and is probably the closest restaurant. Been back many times.
Love this restaurant! One of my favorites. Across the board, great service, atmosphere and menu.
We had a great evening at Hyde Away. Reserved through OpenTable, we were early, had a drink at the bar & then seated at reservation time. Great wait staff. Great food. Cozy, fun atmosphere. Crowded, so noise was moderate (and much of it from our table). We went classic, comfort food and each dish was tasty. Dessert was great, too. We enjoyed it so much, we're going back in a few days.
Love the tuna tartare! Wasn't so crazy about the chicken stew, though.
We ordered wings, french onion soup and a margarita to start. Everything came out fine but we were not fond of the soup so we sent it back. In the meantime we had ordered our dinner. Our reservations were at 7:00, we sat down at 7:07 and we ended up leaving at 8:30 after waiting too long for our dinner we never received. When we told the server that we just wanted to pay for what we ate and leave, that we wouldn’t wait anymore for our meal, he went to check the kitchen and said to us that they never got the ticket for our food. It was annoying yes but they ended up comping the wings and soup (couldn’t do the alcohol).
I am sorry to hear about your experience last night. I spoke with the manager, it seems your dinner order went in when the computer did a re-boot. We are looking into why the computer did that. Not an excuse though, as we try to pay attention to all of our guests and should have noticed your dinner was taking so long. We hope you will join us again on a slower evening. Taco Tuesday during Presidnts Week is one of our busiest nights of the year. - Jean
R huh is is the second tyme we have been to Hyde Away. I took the family for Valentine’s Day dinner and we couldn’t have had a better meal. My daughter has a food allergy which they were very accommodating. Our waitress and the entire wait staff were very attentive and nice. Will definitely come back when we are skiing at Sugarbush next year!
Fries were delicious. Sauce for the duck was too buttery—was hoping it would be a glaze. My shrimp was overly salty, couldn’t finish them. Apple crisp would have been great but the skins were left on and that didn’t work well texture-wise.
My mother-in-law and I had a great dinner at the Hyde Away! We loved our gnocchi, the duck and the bread pudding! Our server was awesome, but I can't remember her name. She was friendly, and knowledgeable about out choices. We look forward to coming again.
Super nice staff with a wide array of options.
Very cute little place with good food for those who wanted a fancy dinner as well as those who wanted bar food. Our server was great!
We love the Hyde Away (both Inn and Restaurant.) We come to Waitsfield frequently each Winter to ski. Unfortunately, both of the last times we've been, the wait for our food was beyond comfortable. We forgot this until we went the other night and it reminded us that the same thing happened last year. The kitchen doesn't seem to be able to handle the additional tables (which they added a few years ago.) On top of the wait, my husband's food wasn't hot (both his soup and his main dish.) I'm sure we'll continue to give it a try, but a bit disappointed in one of our "regular spots,"
Food was great and service was excellent. Perfect for the family after a day of skiing. Great bar as well and good beer selection. Have fun!
Poor service and slow. Food mediocre and salty. Good for bar food and beer.
Came in on New Years Day. The food was quite good, the place was adorable, but the service was lacking. We sat for 15 minutes before the waitress came over the first time. She took our drink order with our food order since it had been so long, so we couldn't enjoy a drink before dinner. Never came over again until we waved her over for another drink during dinner, and finally had to wave her down for our check, after sitting another 15 minutes after eating. I know things are slower when not in the big city, but other places visited did not have this problem. I would probably go again because the food was good and there are tons of options to eat out, but I would set my expectations for slow service.
We arrived for our 6:30 reservation and were told several regular items were out already. Only 1 steak for the whole restaurant?? Limited desserts. It's New Year's. Shouldn't they have ordered enough to handle a holiday dinner?
We are sorry about your less than wonderful experience. The steak is a locally raised product and has limited availablity to begin with, and we had a very busy week over the Holidays. The business level on New Year's Day was a suprise to us. Before your 6:30 reservation we had already served over 50 walk-in guests. There were not may restaurants open in town. We were still serving guest at 10 PM, assuring visitors to the area were fed. We hope you will try us again on a slower night.
Every occasion would be a great experience at Hyde Away Inn & Restaurant!
Food good but.... won’t return to the dining room. Ambiance and decor is dull like a grandmas house.
Tacos were so so
Celebrated my daughter's 32nd birthday at the Hyde Away. food was delicious, hot and came out very quickly. Service amazing!
We recommend the Hyde Away all of the time. We only visit 1 or 2 times a year in the area and always make a point to visit. After last years visit with our than 8 year old daughter. She talks about the tuna tartar and it's a must to have that every time. The menu and the atmosphere is a plus.
Our 4th visit and overall rating is usually really good. I got poutine and it was extremely salty, as if a salt shaker was accidentally dumped on part of it. The folks in the next booth we very loud, but we still like the place and will return.
Hyde Away is consistently yummy and the service, even though they were a little short staffed, was terrific. Our group of 11 had an excellent experience!
Relaxed, friendly atmosphere, good food and drink, pub menu offers reasonabl prices. I had some outstanding bbq ribs.
Awesome Place good food nice decor. Very friendly staff
Obnoxious Norwic group was way too loud.
Excellent value! Food is always good and GREAT service. Special thanks to JENNIFER for this last part. Highly recommended.
We ate dinner at the bar. The bartender was wonderful- friendly, attentive, just great. We both had the cod special. Perfect!
What a great casual place to eat in the Mad River Valley. Great tuna tartar, and the lamb burger special was highly rated too. Can't go wrong.
Did a great job with food allergies and the waitstaff was very good.
