Overall, we were satisfied with our meal and service. I accidentially showed up 1.5 hours early (could have slept it!) but they luckily had availability and were still able to seat us. However, the waffle of the chicken and waffles definitely wasn't the fluffiest and soggier than waffles I'm used to having in a chicken/waffles dish (this was before any syrup had been added) so perhaps for the future keep that in mind.
My friends and I always love coming here for brunch! The service is great, food is fantastic and the crowd is fun! We also appreciate the hostess assisting us with a last minute add on to our group. Thank you!
The service is fantastic! The food is probably the best I’ve had and the drinks are great! I highly recommend
I may go again and change my opinion. But service was VERY slow, problems with kitchen were not handled well vis a vis front of house. Frustrating experience for a first-time diner who was had been looking forward to trying Hutch.
Hutch is another great dining option in the Lakeview neighborhood.
Amazing steak frite! Great causal Tuesday night dinner and a huge bargain.
Quite noisy, but good food and service.
Friend visiting from San Francisco
Lobster nachos ...amazing!
This location is so so. Food is alright as well as the service. The location in Andersonville, while a slightly different atmosphere and menu, is much better.
Fun place for brunch. Great menu and great variety of brunch drinks as well! Busy and loud when we went since it was before a Cubs game but we didn’t mind- made it more fun!
The mimosa tower was AMAZING! The food was great too.
We had brunch and it was okay.
I had a veggie Benedict. The sauce was delicious but my poached egg was way under cooked... still clear. My friend had the same thing and it was cooked better.
Blood orange mimosa tower was good and the Nutella poppers were yummy!
Great place...great deals. Highly recommended!
Great for before the cubs game and they gave 20% off because we had tickets. Server was great and friendly and food was great! Bloody Mary was a little spicy.
Prompt seating per reservation - no additional waiting.
Will be back !
you're packed in so tightly that you're basically sitting at someone else's table and listening to their entire conversation. we were stuck next to two people who yelled throughout the entirety of their meal, which meant ours was spent in silence. the service was quick, we were in and out in 30 - 45 minutes. fortunately since the table next to us (and most others too) were so obnoxious, i was pleased with how fast our service was; if, however, i was looking for a leisurely brunch experience, we were far too rushed for that.
Great options for drinks (especially boozy), and, even though they do not have bottomless mimosas/bloodys, there are still plenty of shareable options (carafes and towers) that are very reasonable priced. The food came out quickly and was all very tasty; a touch of fancy, but not too fancy to still serve good ol' cheesy breakfast potato casserole (delish!). We will definitely be going back.
I can’t believe it’s taken me all these years to finally dying here. Went for brunch on a weekday and it was packed! That’s a good sign. Service was excellent, food was superb. I’ll be back for the Benedict again!
I have an issue with the hands-free on which I spoke to the waiter they took my suggestion consideration
Food was cold and stale. I needed a steak knife to cut toast. The chicken avocado toast was the most disgusting breakfast I've ever had and our boys got children's oatmeal that was so watery and flavorless they couldn't even eat it. Worst breakfast and $80 waste for two adults and two small children. Not worth it for one second.
Food was bland or over cooked. The server had an attitude from the time she came to the table, through dinner. And, she was very unfamiliar with the menu. I have been to Hutch numerous times. This the worst meal I had there. I will not return, based on this experience.
Great brunch deals during the week, it was a fun spot to hang out with my friend to kick of the holiday weekend! I had the scrambled egg tacos that fell apart when I picked them up, but all the sides that came with them were good so I didn’t mind. The cheesy potato casserole is a MUST and was the favorite food wise.
Service was great considering how busy they were, she made sure that we had everything we needed even though she was in a huge rush, which we appreciated:)
I’ve only been here for brunch, but I’d love to come back to see what their dinner offerings are. Make sure you get a reservation before going in, you will definitely need it!
Drinks were mediocre, my food was OK, my eggs were still raw and clear in some places. Was super super loud in there too.
Everyone was very accommodating for us (2) grand-adults + (2) twin 15mo. old grand-daughters!!
Food (for twins) came out quickly, ahead of ours, per our requests.
Kind of crowded & noisy, but it didn't really bother us.
Service was great.
We'll be back (with our without the babies!!).
There were five of us for brunch and not one of us received a hot meal. Cheese potatoes were gloppy. Croissant was soggy. Won't go back.
I’ve been here several times over the years and it’s one of my favorite brunch spots. The servers are always very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and prompt. It can be a bit noisy and crowded by the door on occasion, but never too loud. I went with my sister and a friend for her 21st birthday and they gave her a bottle of champagne!
The atmosphere was decidedly more sports bar than bistro, but the food was good. The service was adequate but not stellar.
I didn’t love the food - it seemed a bit overpriced for what we got, and didn’t taste very good. I took my family here for brunch and it was disappointing.
Went with a big group of kindergarten boys and moms and our server was very accommodating and attentive. Great food for kids and much needed adult beverages for the moms.
I went with my boyfriend because we heard good things. I ordered the French Toast Croissant and I liked it but didn't love it. My boyfriend got the steak and eggs with cheesy potato casserole. The serving was small and was okay. It wasn't the greatest. I was disappointed and just expected more. The service was great though I won't deny that. But we were only 1 out of 3 tables at 10am.
I absolutely loved the cozy vibe of the restaurant. I went later at night and it was still quite busy. The service was outstanding, our food was ready very fast. I had one of the burgers and it was so delicious. Someone else in my party ordered ribs and they enjoyed them a lot. The food that we ordered all had a little bit of spice to it but nothing unbearable. I will definitely be adding this place to my list of favorites in the city.
I made a reservation for 10am this morning. In it, I indicated that we would need a high chair. We showed up at 10, and in freezing weather, we’re not admitted to the restaurant until 10:05. Not so fun with a child. When we got there, your staff didn’t have a high chair ready. When you finally obtained one, it was broken (didn’t have a strap) and my child nearly fell out while we tried to secure him in, with no luck. My husband had to chase after your busser to get another one that was actually safe.
Our waitress was nice but not attentive. The food was cold (we had a breakfast wrap that was ice cold with cheese unmelted) but at this point didn’t even bother alerting the staff as everything was already an epic fail and we just wanted to leave.
I usually have a much better experience, but the food on Valentine’s Day was a little disappointing. The potatoes were bland, ribeye was slightly undercooked, and the fiancés chicken was bland as well. The potatoes had sort of an unusual aftertaste. Ambiance is great, drinks are great, and I would usually give 5 stars.
The reason why we came that night was because I really liked two items on the menu presented on Open Table.
However, when we got there, that menu was not the menu they were using. Therefore, our selections were limited.
If it wasn’t for the Industry discount we would have really been upset.
We waited 30 minutes for someone to come to our table...after waiting for over half an hour without any waitstaff coming by, we walked over to Mia Francesca and had dinner.
Our waitress was very dismissive when we asked for an additional item to our order. She made my boyfriend stand and wait for her to be available rather than simply asking "can I get something for you?" or saying "I'll be at your table in a second". She took her time talking to her coworker and entering something on the computer before acknowledging his presence. She stopped at the tables she was serving around ours, however avoided ours. I saw the service she was providing the table next to ours and when she came to our table she was very stern. We understand that she might have been having a rough work day however that shouldn't affect the service she offers one group of people over others. This was our first time attending and we expected better based on the reviews but we were highly disappointed by the service offered.
When we arrived, the space smelled of the floor cleaner they used to mop the floor moments before opening. Not the smell you want when dining.
Took forever to get our food and then the order was wrong. Our waitress was nice and did her best but the kitchen wasn’t cooperating. Love the location and decor and the bar is nice. Maybe it was just an off night.
