Southern
Husk Savannah, the third outpost by The Neighborhood Dining Group highlights the unique ingredients of coastal Georgia. Located on W. Oglethorpe St. in the heart of Savannah’s Landmark Historic District, the restaurant is situated on what is known to be one of the most haunted blocks in the city. Originally built in 1898, the building has a vibrant history and plenty of (ghost) stories to share. The cuisine of Husk Savannah upholds a strictly Southern philosophy – working with local farmers and purveyors for a menu of exclusively Southern-grown ingredients. Tried-and-true techniques of seed-saving, heirloom husbandry, in-house pickling and charcuterie programs by the culinary team are the basis of Husk’s offerings with a menu that changes seasonally.

Good food. small portions but sufficient...didn't leave stuffed which was good but this is not your normal post hangover greasy spoon brunch place. It is more "precious" in its approach. That said, everything was very tasty and flavorful!

My wife and I vacationed in Savannah and booked a nice restaurant experience for each of the four nights of our trip. Husk was the one I thought I would enjoy the most, but I’m afraid it ranks last of the four. We are not new to “nouveau southern”, and have enjoyed countless great meals of this genre, but it seems that in the chef’s attempt at standing out among his peers, Husk has arrived at a very camp stage of life—big plates, tiny portions, high prices, and not really great food.

My wife and I really enjoyed Husk for an Anniversary. Extensive wine/beverage list. Delicious starters, entrees and slides. The only problem is that we were way too full to try their desserts. Service was fast, friendly, knowledgeable and just outstanding.

Husk was wonderful! There were tasty options for vegetarians like the butternut squash Caesar salad and the Dan Dan noodles. The shashimi tuna was delicious and every meal should include the biscuits! There were excellent wines by the glass and the bottle and unique desserts. Our server was attentive and relaxed. We can’t wait to go back!

Great restaurant. Service was impeccable, meal nicely prepared. I like spice and the Dan Dan noodles did not disappoint. They are spicy and this should be considered when ordering. The trout was a nice preparation. My wife enjoyed the pork loin . The buckwheat cake was excellent for desert.

My friend and I booked brunch as we were super excited to dine at Husk. We were seated upstairs which was lovely. We both ordered the general breakfast with soft scrambled eggs, biscuit with gravy, hash browns, and sausage. It was very disappointing. The eggs were not soft scrambled but slightly overcooked. The biscuit was not throughly baked in the middle. The mashed potato hash brown was fried well but super salty. In addition, we ordered the candied bacon which we did not finish. It was beyond salty to the point of being inedible. Never have I left a piece of bacon behind but we could not eat this. We finished with the fried hand pies which had a beautiful crust and were delicious. They were the best of the meal and redeemed a disappointing brunch. Our server was wonderful and took the bacon off the bill for us.

I would eat at Husk every day if I could. The food was phenomenal, the service was phenomenal, and the drinks were phenomenal. It is definitely on the pricey side but it’s well worth it. We sat in the bar dining area, so it did get a little loud. But other than that it was a great experience.

Our 2nd night in search of new Savannah dining experiences was completely satisfying. Chef & kitchen menu details were enjoyed through each course & selection: coastal chilled shrimp, chicken liver pâté, scallops & couscous, SC Quail and carrots. “Server Assistant” shared his detailed ingredient & menu knowledge including personal recommendations. Dessert choices of buckwheat cake & squash mousse tart were a proper finish to our evening’s meal. Don’t miss the suggested walk to the 2nd floor “ballroom bar”. (And thank The Savannah Rotary Club). Highly recommend to historic district Savannah visitors.

Small portions, so get multiple things if you are hungry. I was not that impressed with the main course - I had the Quail with gyoza. Two VERY small little breasts with 3 gyoza…. Definitely not worth spending that much for such a small amount of food. Best part was the pecan tart for dessert. Probably won’t be back.

I'm so bummed to write this review - I've been dying to go to Husk for years. What a disappointment of an experience. SERVICE: very poor. We arrived on time for our 8pm reservation, but after we were seated, it was as if we were invisible and our server never showed until 15 min after that. Another server noticed we hadn't been attended to and gave us water, though. When our server did arrive, we ordered a martini each and our appetizer. Our martinis took 20-25 min to reach us. Throughout the meal our sever was extremely inattentive. FOOD: Awful (aside from the oysters) the half-dozen oysters we ordered were fine although the horseradish had zero spice. After that, all the remaining items we ordered were a joke. The Dan Dan noodles tasted days old, the swordfish was cold, and the roasted Brussels sprouts were raw. When we inquired about the Brussels sprouts we we'd told "they just kiss the flame" when they cook them. I didn't know that roasting had such a loose definition; no other roasted veggies (or any roasted food, for that matter) in my life have been that way, ever. We also tried to order 2x vodka sodas - from another server because ours was nowhere to be found, but only one drink showed up. OVERALL: this was highway robbery. We should have asked for the sprouts taken off the bill, but we were afraid that would have gummed up the service more and at that point we just wanted to put this experience behind us as quickly as we could.

This was among the best dinners we've ever had. I never would have selected the chicken liver tart as my first course but ordered it upon the recommendation of our delightful wait person. Wow! I had the quail for my main course and my husband had swordfish. Both were perfectly cooked and sauced ever so slightly with flavors that just burst in our mouths. I've forgotten what we ordered for our shared dessert but it was equally delicious. The restaurant is located in an old mansion. Just lovely.

No. Just no. We ordered all of the oysters they offered, caviar, biscuits, Andre Mack Pinhook, dirty martinis, (no high-end vodka. Wheatley & Tito’s are their top shelf) their Caesar first course, scallops and quail. The hostess seated us in a small room with ugly curtains and told us it’s fun to watch the ghost bus tours go by. (Huh?) Our waitress could best be described as low energy and when asked about anything on the menu, she gave the quickest answer possible and ran away. Warm and welcoming definitely were not her personality traits, but the lack of enthusiasm and confidence about the food was unsettling. This is Savannah. The south. The hospitality was abysmal. The oysters were decent. The caviar (we ordered hackleback) was the lowest grade that still qualifies as caviar. Three caviar options were on the menu and this was the middle option. The biscuits with sorghum were just okay. The Caesar was raw butternut squash with a squeeze of lemon and egg yolk. I invite you to draw your own conclusions. The quail was dry, extremely overcooked and as far as the quantity goes, there was barely any! The overcooked scallops were mediocre and served atop an undercooked barley—what an odd combination! There was nothing redeeming about this culinary experience. The ambiance, service and food were all failures. As we were leaving, another table requested to be moved out of our server’s section, but alas I don’t think their meal will be drastically improved by a location change.

Our food was really good. Both of us had the quail for an entree as, although small, was delicious. One app was the pimento cheese, and it was average. The chicken liver tart was outstanding. Sat at the bar as we dined rather late. Service was good, food was better.
