Hurricane Crab Dip
Signature house recipe of crab meat, Datil peppers, onions and tomatoes in a creamy cheese dip. Served with tri-colored tortilla chips.
Food was over cooked. It’s hit or miss there. Either it’s over the t op good or under the table yerrible
We were here on Thursday, 9.24.20 and I'm sorry to say "this was by far the worst restaurant" that we have gone to here in St. Augustine Florida. Someone had "highly" recommended it to us so we were very much looking forward to our evening out. When we arrived, the parking situation was very questionable. There were no spots available AND the restaurant was empty. When we got seated they wiped down the table and bench, GREAT but they left them drenched. We had to ask for towels to dry things up. Our servers "The A Team" were fine. Unfortunately, our drinks, a beer and a frozen daiquiri took over 20 minutes to receive. If the place was busy how much longer would we have to wait? We ordered a shrimp boil and a chicken quesadilla. The shrimp dish was huge but the sausage in it was different. The quesadilla was fishy. I ate one piece. The place has a dirty appearance and there is no music playing in the background which makes for a very quiet evening. I would be understanding to the slowness of our food and drinks being served if the place was even slightly busy. We would not return and we wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
The food was ok, Enin the sever was great, but for the rest of the staff there was a feeling of unwelcomeness. We we're a party of seven, from out of town and the only ones there at the time. We stay because the server nice, it was late and we we're hungry.
Waited 60 min for dinner. They ran out of pickles and mashed potatoes. No straws when frozen drinks served and waited 15 min to get them. Drink melted. Ketchup took another 10 min and burger was cold by then. Wouldn’t recommend
I chose this restaurant based on reviews. I was not impressed with the food or the ambience of the restaurant. The music which was live on their patio was extremely loud. It was not necessary for the singer to be singing so loud and playing so loud since the area is not that large. You could not even hear yourself speak to the person next to you that’s how loud it was. I did not find the food appetizing I found it no better than going to a fast food seafood restaurant. I hate giving reviews like this but unfortunately this is how it was. I don’t think I will be going back when we venture to St. Augustine again.
They had a Maine Lobster special for $2.195 and I love lobster! It came with sausage, corn and potatoes...the 1 pound lobster was cooked perfectly! Hubby got the Shrimp and Grits and he really liked it!!
Our server, Cassie, was sweet, friendly and knowledgable!
Great dining experience!!
We preferred to have a reservation following our escape room booking to avoid standing around and waiting at some of our favorite eateries. We also wanted something casual and basic. We had never been here before. It is tucked away. We thought the GPS misdirected us at first. It was pretty busy. Had a lively crowd. Their employees were masked The place was hopping. The hostess said they had to wipe down our table. The table was soaking wet when we were seated. It did not smell sanitized. I had to wipe it off with a few napkins so our arms and shirts didn’t get soaked. Ian was a great waiter. Dripping in sweat from working so hard. Drinks and food came quickly. Overall the food was fine. The burger was really good. Everything else was unremarkable but edible. Likely won’t seek it out again.
Our server was FABULOUS.
We had a lovely time and will be back.
For what we paid for our dinner we got a very small portion and was not happy about that at all
We waited so long to get our drinks, On top of that we waited for ever to get one appetizer, We ordered a dip that the photo showed came with a good amount of bread for 4 people we got enough bread for one person and about 20 tortilla chips absolutely hilarious not in a good way, My wife's meal included oysters and they gave her none, The pot roast and carrots tasted a week old, We will never go back. I wish the rest of you good luck.
Service was slower than expected- not food but the drink reorders
Delicious shrimp boil with a sea shanty vibe. Nothing too fancy and in need of a few fixes and updates to the building, but the food was good and a bargain given the serving size. Plus outdoor covered dining for the Covid era.
Awesome, I ordered the Seafood Bucket which was loaded and delicious. The Manager came by the table and checked on us him and I start talking football and then he made sure our Food was right. We go to St Augustine every year and this is a stop we always make. Great Job
I had the best service ever!!!
Wonderful food and exceptional service . There is a reason locals go here.
We had the Maine lobster boil and boy was it good. Our waitress was awesome! We had some peel and eat shrimp. Yummm! I wish more people cared about social distancing but they tried. Bless their hearts.
Food was wonderful and the atmosphere on the back deck cannot he beat!
Welcoming ; upbeat ; attentive ; great food !
Will go back soon .
It was not very busy but it took 45 minutes for our order to get to the table, which consisted off a fried shrimp platter (fair), cup of seafood soup (very good), a dozen raw oysters (ice had totally melted in tray and overwashed the oysters, 1/2 dozen oyster Rockefeller (cold, hard bacon bits) and a dozen steamed oysters (room temp). We were overcharged so it had to be corrected as the waitress did not know the specials and overall it was not pleasant. We have eaten there before and it was the opposite - something has changed and it is not the result of the COVID-19!
Excellent experience. Great food. Very reasonable prices. Staff was amazing. Will definitely be back.
Terrible service. Restaurant does not abide by social distancing guidelines
Food was bland, our server checked on us once, and didn’t know anything about the menu. Wasn’t worth the amount spent.
Waited 45 minutes for a table after making a reservation. Only 3 other parties in the restaurant. Had to talk to manager. Waited an hour and a half for food after ordering. More concerned with closing than bringing us food and bill. Reservation was at 6:30!
Need more fans outside. Under staffed. Food was sub-par. Drinks were good.
I like your new look. ..always enjoyed Hurricane Patty's
Great food, great view while eating and great service
Had reservations but still a long wait. No sweet tea. Famous crab dip was ok...glad it was free. Entrees we dry, shrimp was overcooked
Ham and cheese was burnt, Crab Cakes had too much pepper.
Mixed drink was undrinkable due to amount of liquor. After stirring, found a bug. Food was not hot. Kids footlong hotdog was 2 burned hotdogs on a bun. No flavor on any of the sides. Waitress was good but food was thumbs down.
So this review is very mixed, I had heard this place was super good food, it was the only reason I tolerated all of the craziness, if you were to ask me to write this review before the food came I would have said.... Hurricane Patty’s was honestly awful, it’s dirty, old, and down right scary. The service was awful. We waited 30 minutes for someone to even acknowledge we were there before we were seated outside at a dirty table. It took forever to get our drink orders, refills, and food. Once the food came though my opinion of the place changed. The food was super good. If you don’t mind eating at a dirty old outdated place with bad service, check it out because the food is pretty legit!
We were very pleased with the food and the service. The atmosphere is a bit out of date.
excellent food and service
our shrimp and steak fathers day special was very good...
the "pain killer" drinks were good also.
Awesome service and server. Food was excellent. Definitely another trip in the near future.
We really enjoyed our dinner. It was comforting to see a restaurant taking the Covid19 seating and distancing recommendations seriously (unlike a Mexican restaurant near our home). I asked for a table by the window that was open and the staff kindly reminded me of the social distancing issues. I really appreciated that after I thought about it. My wife's fish was very good. My crab cakes were exceptional. The atmosphere couldn't be much better. We liked the laid back atmosphere. The quality of food at Hurricane Patty's was as good as some other more (perceived) upscale local restaurants but the atmosphere was so much more comfortable. There are a couple of other restaurants we go to where the food is good but not better however we feel like we need to wear semi dressy apparel which you don't want to do after a long day. The only room for improvement I saw during our experience was service. The food and drink came out in a very timely manner but our waitress did not seem to interested in checking on us or delivering the check. I finally had to go find her when we were ready after waiting 15 - 20 mins after we were done. It was not that busy to justify that long a wait for service or the check. Overall a 9 out of 10 experience... thank you.
We had a reservation for 7:00 and was not seated until 7:30. They had one table that the people would not leave. They were done eating and had their checks.
The server was great and we all enjoyed our dinners.
We will be back.
The food was alright, I would say half the table enjoyed their meal. The drinks were very good. Service was pretty slow and they couldn’t figure out how to split checks.
Beautiful view and location but that’s all this place has to offer. The dishes and cups were filthy. One member of my party had old orange zest stuck to the inside of her yuengling glass. The bartender also kept sending stale drinks with more dirty cups. The manager aggressively came to our table to see what was wrong. After informing her of the issues we had I also told her the carbonation must be old but she did nothing about any of our problems. Our party was ill shortly after. EVERYONE needed tums or pepto bismol to treat our stomachs. We will NEVER return.
The service must have better organization de reserved a table outdoor and they didn't have it. They gave us one inside
Amazing server! Poor hostess seating, over booked new server. Lead to 2.5 hours in restaurant which included a 20 min wait for our credits to be run. Where we had to search for the person who was running our cards. They need to step it up!
