It, as usual, was great. It was the last night for Hurley’s so if you haven’t been there you missed it. Great goodby party for a really great guy!
We have been going to Hurleys since it opened, it has been one of our favorite places to bring visitors and friends. We always enjoyed the summer Bar-B-Q's with our friends. While we will miss the great food, service and Chef Bob, we wish him all the best in his retirement. He really will be missed.
Saying goodbye (sob)! To an excellent chef and all-around extraordinary person and great servers. This local gathering place will be sorely missed. The farewell event was packed and yet food, servers, bob Hurley and all providing the same level of excellent food, service and conviviality as always. The last of the great places that truly felt comfortable for both locals and tourists. Also - last of affordable eateries in yountville for locals. Seems like we just lost pacific blues to be replaced with a clearly substandard eatery called Platform 8, and now we lose Hurley’s across the street. Perhaps time to move after 22 years...
This is my last review for this restaurant. As you noted, it’s permanently closed. I’m sad and happy all at the same time for our dear friend Bob Hurley. He not only has been an incredible chef, but he has also given so much to the community which is very noteworthy and as evidenced by these last few weeks of customers, family, neighbors, business associates coming by to wish him well. He was very “present” with his staff and customers. You can always see him mingling with the customers and making special dishes. This probably won’t do adjustice to the character of who he truly is, but he will be missed by all. As Its been noted, “it’s been a great ride.” Congrats to an amazing man of great food and character!
Sorry to see this restaurant close.
Hurley's has been a family favorite for many years. We are so sad that it is now closed. It is a warm, friendly, cozy place to dine. There was nothing pretentious about it and the food was always outstanding. We will miss it.
Hurley's is now closed. It was a great place to eat and will be missed.
Wonderful dinner as usual. Glad we could visit one more time before Bob retires! Will miss all of the staff and friends we’ve made there over the years!
Hurley’s closes tomorrow, April 15, after opening in 2002. I have eaten here since it first opened and have always enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and personnel from day 1. Bob Hurley and family will always be a friend. All the best, Bob, in your retirement and hope to see you again in the near future. You have given your patrons many fond memories over the years. Hope that Thomas Keller can adequately fill your shoes. HA!
Wonderful dinner. Sad to see them close. We will miss them
since this was the last week Hurley’s would be in business it was imperative to go for one last magnificent meal! As always they never disappoint. Hurley’s will be missed but not forgotten. Have had many fabulous meals over the years. Thank you Bob Hurley!! All the best in your retirement.
Hurley's has been a staple in Napa Valley for many years. Sunday is the last day. I'm sure that it will be packed with locals getting their "last meal". Good luck to Bob and Cynthia Hurley and the staff! They are all great people and will be missed!
If you want to dine at Hurley's in Yountville, you'd better hurry! This Sunday the 15th is there last day. So sorry to see this hangout & dine for locals as well as out of towners. Let's see what Keller does with this prime location.
Even tho I had to change my reservation to a later time when my guests were delayed,
there was "no problem" and we were graciously welcomed. The Critical Mass Fries
were a perfect starter with the wine and I had a beer. We enjoyed a wonderful meal.
....and even had room (barely) for dessert....Warm Chocolate Cake and Vanilla Ice Cream.
OMG ~ we just "rolled" out of there with a big smile on our faces !
We'll be back on Friday Evening with another group ~ Oh, I can hardly wait ~
This was our first experience at Hurley's. Fabien was an incredible waiter! We felt so welcomed! His food suggestions were spot in. The food was AMAZING! Chef Hurley was so kind to come and introduce himself and see how everything was. We are disappointed this restaurant is closing as we would have made this a frequent favorite! Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Sad to note that Hurley's is closing this coming weekend for good ~
it will be a Great Loss for Yountville tourists and locals alike !
We are eating lunches and dinners almost all week long to get
our last "foodie fix" and yummy dessert fixes too. Great Bar
Great Staff Skilled Cooks and Prep People ! The "end of an
Era" has come !
The service started out ok and derailed. Waitress didn't fill our wine or water glasses. The food was good. Chef was course - he came from the kitchen spoke and hugged a friend but ignored another customer at the next table. The service was so bad that we got our cheque from another waiter. Paid and left. This was regrettable. Some of the staff were professional but there was a strong current of " I don't care" beginning with the chef
Fun restaurant. Comfortable. Good menu. Friendly staff. Great location. Unfortunately, one of our dishes (all 3 items on the plate) was overcooked, and appeared as if it could have been made hours earlier and reheated upon order. So for that reason, the restaurant was a disappointment for it's price range.
As always a very good experience at Hurley’s. Sorry to see them closing on April 15.
Loved the food and the service the most.
Always a favorite local option! Our first time for Easter Brunch - delicious!
Our server Tina has the perfect combo of warm professionalism .
Chef Hurley is beloved by his community -
The large windows create a happy ambiance!
I recommend Hurley's for all my visitors!
We were 5 local friends looking for a central spot in the valley to meet for dinner and wine on the first really warm day of the year. Hurleys met our requirements in that it was a good location, has a hospitable corkage policy, a 'sharing' friendly menu and an outdoor patio. What we did not expect was the great food. In addition to a couple of meat dishes, we had at least 3 seafood plates - crabcakes, mussels and an entree of haddock with artichokes, white beans and chorizo... - and they were all great. The side of asparagus was respectfully prepared too.
We will return!
Food, service, and ambiance were outstanding! We will return soon and will recommend the restaurant.
When I booked the reservation, I noted that we were celebrating my husband’s birthday and requested that a candle be placed on his dessert. The server failed to acknowledge his birthday and failed to follow through on the simple request. An unfortunate way to end the evening...thankfully the food was excellent
Lots of fun. The waiter was awesome
The cocktails were perfect and the food as always was great. This is a local favorite that I’ve been to several times...and yes, I’m a local.
All good and good value. Some confusion with reservation. Open table showed no availability but call to restaurant worked and restaurant had many open tables during our entire dinner.
Lunch for two at 12.30pm on a chilly Sunday afternoon. I made reservations ahead of time, but no need, there was only one other table occupied in the whole restaurant! So needless to say service was good, but not overly attentive, staff were pleasant and pretty knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. Food was good, not raving, but good. Overall, I'd go back again, I think it would be very pretty at night with the outdoor lighting and candles inside.
Great dinner and great service by Fabian as well.
Hurley's is always excellent. A fun place to eat in Yountville and their Irish menu on St Patrick's Day is always delicious.
We eat at Hurley’s with relative frequency and this was one of the best experiences we’ve had. Chefs specials are always a treat but today’s menu was exceptional.
It was a little loud and service was a little slower than our past several visits, but it was a Saturday night, so that probably affected everything. The food, as always, was excellent and we had a nice time!
We eat there often, the food has always been excellent
Wow - where to begin. Came for my daughter’s birthday. Waiter never came back to the table after we ordered our entree to see if we wanted a glass of wine with our meal. I flagged down three different employees asking them for a glass of wine or if they could send our waiter over. No one came. We honestly thought - well he must be on a break.
Finally, as we were almost finished with our meal he came over to offer wine (remember this is Napa Valley). When I ordered coffee it was served so cold the cream wouldn’t mix into it. When I let an employee know she brought out another cup but told me to be careful because she had just put it in the microwave (and indeed- it tasted like coffee that had been sitting around for hours and microwaved).
For this far from satisfactory service they added a gratuity because we were a “party over six” (although four were children) but didn’t tell us they had done that.
I spoke with a man who claimed to be the owner (but never shared his name) about my concerns. He told me that my concerns were “way out there”. Way out there to want to order a glass of wine with my meal in Napa Valley??? Way out there to expect coffee to be warm??? He also told me that (because I was a women) that I “sound like a person who is too sensitive.”
Needless to say - will never eat there again or recommend it to anyone visiting the Valley (they would probably like a glass of wine with their meals .....)
If you are a woman beware—— you may be found too “sensitive” about the bad service offered here.
Excellent food as usual. My only complaint was the portion size of the wild boar. It was quite small. I get it just about every time and it’s usually bigger.
We had a great experience! The food was fantastic and our service was amazing! We will be back!
When dining in Yountville, you have plenty of choices - make sure you give Hurley's a try! There is something on the menu for everyone, including a very reasonably priced prix fixe menu. The food is excellently prepared and presented and most of all, tastes great! Service is professional but friendly; everything you would expect from a fine dining establishment in Napa Valley.
Really well done.
Hurleys has been a favorite for my wife and I for a few years now the food is excellent service first rate and the ambience nice
We went to Hurley's for the first time on a freezing cold night. We were very happy to find out that the restaurant has a warm, cozy ambiance which was perfect for the cold night outside. We had a delicious soup, short ribs, and ravioli. For dessert a delicious chocolate lava cake. Good unobtrusive service, vibrant bar scene and a lovely evening.
