Very nice food. Recommend the veal sausage starter
The food is good. The service was fine.
It the post “Covid” pandemic, where things are only now starting to open up, i was disappointed with the salt shakers. Yes, salt shakers. They have a fancy shaker that requires both hands. Hands on hands on hands. I was so filled with anxiety, i ran to wash my hands after using the salt shaker.
The staff is nice. The food is good.
But we all still need to focus on safety while dining.
Everything was fantastic. Will definitely be back soon.
Such wonderful service and food. Celebrated my mom’s birthday and they were so attentive (even brought champagne over to do a toast). The food was fresh and flavorful. Looking forward to returning soon!
Good food weird Kroger forgetting to give us silverware or serving spoons
EXCELLENT Kale Salad, and AMAZING Halibut 😊. A perfect birthday dinner.
The experience at Hunter, as always, was incredible. Typically we order off the regular menu, but last night we decided to try all special items. Hunter never disappoints!
This was the first real “date” my husband and I had since covid so we wanted it to be special. Hunter did not disappoint!!! The food was beautiful and delicious, the service was OUTSTANDING! If I had to make a criticism it would only be the noise level was pretty crazy but I think it may have just been the table next to us was having the best night of their lives!! Lol. All in all, a great evening-thanks Hunter!
Had a delicious meal starting with a deconstructed Caesar salad and their Coup de Mer fish. The fish was sheer perfection, crispy skin with a moist inside. My husband’s Duck a la Orange was also cooked perfectly, without any fat or gameiness. We all shared their snap pea greens which were unusual and very tasty. All our cocktails were generous pours. The waitress was attentive and the atmosphere was very chic. I loved the lucite partitions for privacy and safety. Our table of 4 all agreed we can’t wait to come back. This place is a winner!
Good outstandingly. Attention of staff excellent. The wait between first and second course was extremely long.
Yet another fabulous dining experience at Hunter. The specials sumptious, elegant truffles a must try. Fish outstanding as was everything we tried.
A special place to dine in the neighborhood, delivering great service and quality cuisine .
A beautiful spot but it needs a lot of work when it comes to food and bar service. Also, it's confusing as the place is high end and yet customers are coming in dressed for McDonald's!!
Wish them good luck as so much as gone into it!
The service was terrible. The majority of the food was subpar. I have no idea where your chef learned to make paella and I doubt that the chef has ever eaten particularly good paella whether it be anywhere in Spain or even a New York City restaurant. It was ridiculous to call that Parlla It was disgusting. The huge pieces of fish, the lack of clams or muscles the lack of visible sausage etc. The tuna tartare was filled with some sort of fried crispy whatever mushed inside of it. None of it was particularly good and it’s a shame because the space is beautiful. The waiter left us alone for 45 minutes after we finally got our drinks and we had to request getting somebody over to take our order
The food was excellent. We sat in the middle so the high ceiling made our section a bit loud. Next time I will ask for side or back table. The waiter forgot to point out the specials, but made up for it by giving us all a taste of the soup. It was a great dining experience overall. We look forward to going back!
Went for a Birthday dinner. We sat outside. It was so nice. The staff are very polite and attentive. The food is extremely good. Everyone loves what they ordered. The shrimp are huge and delicious.
Wonderful service, beautiful ambiance, and delicious food!
Dinner tonight was absolutely wonderful. We had the most delicious plumpest largest clams to start in Garlic and butter. A fennel salad that was bright and light with mandarin oranges and olives. My husband had the tagliatelle pasta. Perfectly cooked. Al Dente. I had the salmon it was prepared to perfection. For dessert I had the chocolate cake so moist. My husband had the profiteroles. Light and airy. We felt like we were dining in a Manhattan restaurant without all the traffic. Place is so elegant but yet simple. A complete delight. Can’t wait to return. The chef and owner came over and spoke with us for a while. What a lovely young man. I wish him all the best and success with his place
It was a very pleasant dining experience
Nothing that special would not return
Waiter got drink order wrong. Half duck was overcooked half duck was undercooked. Grouper fish tasted old / fishy. Salad was wilted. Felt rushed to order and we arrived early for 545 dinner spot. Overall disappointed.
The restaurant accommodated us for a group of 7 after we previously made a reservation for only 5. Very appreciative. We have dined here a number of times and have been consistently pleased with the food, drinks, atmosphere and service. Consistency may be the toughest challenge for restaurants and kudos to Hunter. Everyone at the table was likewise very pleased.
Great food. Ambiance and decor excellent.
One of the finest additions to Oyster Bay in recent years. No longer do I need to drive 1.25 hours to the city to experience beautiful decor, a charming and personable waitstaff, and elegantly prepared food. From someone who treats myself at Michelin rated restaurants frequently, Im happy to put Hunter up there with the one of the best experience and service that Ive had on Long Island. A+++
Simply amazing. Can’t wait to go back.
Service did not match food. Ordered pork special that came out rare at best. Waiter disappeared and did not return for some time. My wife waited, her food got cold while they cooked my dish further. No one checked in on us.
We are unlikely to return.
The place is beautifully designed and decorated.
We both ordered the seared Foie Gras which was very tasty but served too cold for a seared dish.
The main was the Duck and the fish which were both delicious.
This is a 3 star review because the various servers kept rushing us throughout the entire meal and i feel when a meal for 2 people is $300+ we should not be rushed especially when the place had additional empty tables available.
Service was slow, took quite a while to get a drink. Then did not have much of a selection of vodka. Ordered a piece of cod fish, portion was tiny and did not come with a side
This is a truly beautiful restaurant with exceptional food and a menu that has many dishes I was interested in. I will certainly look to come back. The prices are high but not extreme and the portion sizes were good, so although I wouldn’t call it value for money it was certainly fair for a high-end meal. The only small criticism I have was that service initially dragged, but staff was very nice and the experience overall was good.
Special pork chop was off the charts. Strip steak also excellent. They even included a comped dessert as there was an anniversary at the table.
One of the most elegant meals I have enjoyed outside of NYC. Bravo.
The service in between courses was a little too fast and it was hard to hear
The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
Everything was very good until we left. There is a dangerous low step with a 2" raised edge which one of our party tripped on and fell flat on his face into the parking lot. There should be a railing to direct people to walk down the ramp to the left instead of stepping off the area into the parking area.
Food was great, Peter our server was excellent
Another superb experience, each course was fabulous and service spot on. Hunter is the highlight of the week for all of us.
Compliments to the chef. The food is a revelation but the overall experience is outstanding. It all began before we even arrived with a request for French Rosé Wine we made and selections were waiting for us when we arrived. Kat our server knew her wines and the food. Provided great dessert recommendations to round out a great meal. Highly recommend the Foie Gras, Veal Chop and Pistachio Parfait. Will be back again this place rivals any top restaurant in NYC. Reservations recommended.
The food a d service are excellent-think relaxed fine dining. We enjoyed two salads, the cod, and the steak. Excellent wine choices.
The food was outstanding and prepared perfectly. The staff were amazing. The chef came to our table and introduced himself! It was an overall fantastic experience.
Good food. Small portion
Waited long for food to arrive
Food was excellent. Fish fresh and perfectly cooked and dressed with a delish sauce. This place was NYC quality out here in East Norwich. Just amazing.
Amazing dining experience. The service and food are both incredible.
